Whiners and Crybabies in the White House: White House Communications Director Anita Dunn Attacks FOX News (video)

Let the Obama administration whining commence…

Attack and whine for a sniveling NINE minutes about the meanness and unfairness of FOX News, the Number 1 news station in America… yes, that’s what White House Communications Director Anita Dunn did on CNN.

Dunn also flatters CNN for its integrity and impartiality in news coverage of the Obama administration. You’re kidding, right??

This is the same news station that drools over Obama at the drop of a hat (remember the embarrassing “swagga” segment?) and whose Susan Roesgen bullied and mocked tea party attendees at the Chicago tea party protest last April. CNN then tried to bully YouTube to remove the embarrassing video of reporter Roesgen’s attack, even though it wasn’t their property. It was videotaped independently by Andrew Marcus of the blog Founding Bloggers, who just happened to be standing nearby during the Roesgen attack.

This is the same news station that was ticked off by an Obama comedy spoof on Saturday Night Live and spent time fact-checking the skit, for cryin’ out loud. SNL has spoofed presidents all the way back to the early years when Chevy Chase did his mocking impersonation of Gerald Ford. No one fact-checks a parody, you nitwits.

How many stories has CNN covered about ACORN and the NEA and the corruption that is being uncovered?

How about all that in-depth, impartial, newsworthy coverage CNN did on Obama’s radical czar Van Jones? By “in-depth,” I do mean virtually no coverage.

From Michelle Malkin:

Has the waahmbulance arrived at the White House yet? Because the taxpayer-subsidized whining is getting really old…

Yeah, CNN is positively dripping with integrity and impartiality (insert laughter here). Translation: Only news stations covering the Obama administration in a flattering light and asking him bunny questions are fair and non-biased.

Dunn claims that FOX News is in the pocket of the Republican party, that it is its “research arm.” Never mind all the negative stories FOX broadcast about Pres. Bush during his presidency. Or the liberal spokespersons who appear regularly on the FOX talk shows.

This childish strategy of complaining is so silly, it’s mind-boggling. Imagine if a spokesperson from the White House had ever dreamed of attacking the media, or one news station, for its nasty, partisan coverage of GW Bush… and then admitted to “punishing” that news station. Every news outlet in America would be hanging from the chandeliers with frothing outrage at such an attack. But Obama’s minions attacking FOX news? Eh, no biggie.

Anita Dunn: Fox News Is “Research Arm of the Republican Party”

From Hot Air:

The clip of Chris Wallace calling them a bunch of crybabies is obligatory in any post about the most media-worshiped president since JFK whining about his coverage, but we’ve used it twice in just the past five days. So below, to administer the coup de grace, you’ll find a new one featuring our favorite liberal. Take it away, KP.

From IMAO:

Apparently the new strategy from the Obama White House is to whine about FOX News. That’s really going to work out well. I think the number one complaint I hear from people these days is all the unfair, probing coverage Obama gets from all the major news organizations. Everyone is just so mean to him! Someone should give him another Nobel Peace Prize to wipe his tears with.

Iran nearly has nuclear weapons and North Korea just tested some new missiles, so do we really need a president who whines like a little bitch? Do you remember Bush ever crying about the unfair coverage he got when he got about one millionth of the favorable press Obama has gotten? This is why you don’t elect presidents who have girl parts where man parts should be; you can’t be a leader and a crybaby.

And it’s a little disturbing when Obama has three networks and two 24-hour cable news channels and all of Hollywood carrying water for him and all he can focus on is the one who dares air criticism of him. This fascist instinct is why I don’t trust liberals. I know he’s too impotent to actually do anything, but I still don’t like it. It’s un-American. But so is being a crybaby.

White House Slams FOX News

Neil Cavuto Slams Anita Dunn for Attacking FOX

From Brisbane Times:

Larry Sabato, director of the Centre for Politics at the University of Virginia, said the White House may be lashing out at Fox “because the Democratic base is starting to be more critical of Obama.

“The world was expected to be transformed in approximately a month and it just didn’t quite happen that way,” Sabato said. “So if you’re in that position and you need to rally your base, you need to find a common enemy.

“They’re going on the offensive to rally the base and the base will rally to them because they hate the ‘right-wing noise machine’ too,” he said. “Everyone needs an enemy in politics. Everyone needs a devil figure.”

From CommentaryMagazine.com:

The White House is attacking Fox News again: it’s insufficiently obsequious for the White House’s taste. It’s a “research arm” of the Republican party, you see. And no, it’s not just Glenn Beck or Sean Hannity whom the Obama team is miffed at — it’s the whole network.

On some level this is comical. No candidate and no administration has gotten such glowing treatment from the media. You would think they’d look at the big picture and be content that much of their work — ignoring uncomfortable story lines, vilifying the opposition, editing out the “uhs” and “ums” from speeches, and casting news in the most Obama-favorable light possible — is done for them. But no, they find the one TV cable network that sees its role as entirely independent of the Obama agenda to be such an irritant and so offensive that they must grouse about the speck of tough coverage in an ocean of fluff.

It bespeaks a defensiveness and thin-skinned disposition that started with the president but has now permeated his entire staff. The 24/7 news cycle is now to blame for his problems selling health care…

Once upon a time when the Times was a real newspaper, the managing editor commented that only a fool would make an enemy of someone who buys ink by the barrel. Of the long list of inept, juvenile, naive things that the Obama administration has done so far this has to rank very high on the “stupid” meter.

Even if FOX was a total sellout for the right as CNN is for the left, anyone who has spent more than five minutes watching FOX would know the left is pretty well represented (actually much better represented than I would like.) It would still make little sense to go after them in this manner. FOX has an enormous viewer base. Why would you intentionally alienate someone who has that much contact to a large portion of voters? My 16 year old Grandson would tell you that would be a poorly thought out political move.

The only thing that fits is the Obama Administration has been reading their own press releases and believing them. They must actually think that CNN et al, actually represents the majority of voters and not just a dwindling number of elites who have become a legend in their own mind.

Even many Democrats, who have bravely been trying to soldier on, are beginning to waiver. While they were usually quick to condemn anything that Bush did as wrong, they seem to be wishing Obama would do SOMETHING even if it is wrong.

Excellent commentary, Lloyd. Even my son, who is 16, the same age as your grandson, likes watching FOX on cable, especially Glenn Beck. We don’t have cable at home, so when he visits Grandma (he’s on fall break this week), who does have cable, he catches up. Talk show host Beck is his favorite to watch.

He has no interest in watching other news shows (and frankly, the fact that he wants to watch ANY news show at his age is remarkable).

I totally agree with you. While FOX leans to the right, they do give time to left-wingers. Something the other stations don’t do, or if they do, it’s only to mock or attack them.
