In the video below, documentary filmmaker/environment journalist Phelim McAleer asks celebrity attendees what proves to be an “inconvenient question” while he covers the September premiere of the new left-wing environmental docudrama, The Age of Stupid, in New York.
The embarrassing enviro question asked of the Hollywood celebs… “How did you travel to come to this film’s premier?” Carbon footprints be damned! Air travel is to be banned or penalized, according to the film, because of its impact on the environment. But apparently, that edict is really meant only for the “little people,” is not intended for wealthy Hollywood folks, not intended for left-wing crusaders who are trying to throw all of us back (themselves excluded) to the Dark Age.
And it definitely is not intended to hinder anyone who supports the junk-science, depressing poppycock of this film… if a cause is considered by these pampered knuckleheads to be “noble” enough, anything goes.
Smell that? Ah, it’s the stale scent of hypocrisy.

McAleer was ousted by security to the far sidelines, despite his approved press credentials, for his non-left-wing effrontery and lack of reverence for these hypocritical, ignorant, liberal celebrities who flew to New York for the premier. (And I used to love Gillian Anderson… has she done much of anything except this eco-nonsense since X-Files was cancelled?)
Even the The Age of Stupid’s director is uncomfortable when her own airline flights are questioned by McAleer, and she clumsily dodges answering his question.
At least Phelim’s mic wasn’t unplugged, which is what happened to him in Wisconsin last week when he asked Al Gore about the British high court’s ruling about the nine errors/exaggerations found in his scare film An Inconvenient Truth. Here, only his camera lens is blocked and he is forced to stand outside the assigned press area. Freedom of the press, but only for statists and environmental zealots.

‘Not Evil Just Wrong’ Doesn’t Need Hollywood to Reach an Audience

…“I think if we said the Earth is going to disappear in 30 years and America is responsible, then we would have gotten a release,” McAleer said.
So instead, McAleer turned to conservatives for help.
He said he met with Andrew Breitbart, the former Drudge Report editor who now runs a handful of conservative websites, including the one that fanned the flames of the right with videos of ACORN employees encouraging the efforts of actors pretending to seek government funding for brothels. Breitbart’s Big Hollywood site will stream the movie Sunday.

As much as McAleer has sought support from the right, he credits liberal filmmaker Michael Moore with paving the way for his kind of documentary.
“I am the son of Michael Moore,” says McAleer, “or at least the illegitimate nephew.”
Phil Kerpen, director of policy for Americans for Prosperity, also sees the shoe-on-the-other-foot connection.
“Michael Moore, who was once the guerrilla, down-in-the-weeds documentarian, is releasing big Hollywood pictures, and it is right-wing conservative activists crashing events.”
McAleer seemed to rip a page straight out of Moore’s publicity playbook when he confronted Gore last week at the Society of Environmental Journalists conference in Madison, Wis. Taking to a microphone in the audience, McAleer pressed Gore about a British High Court judge’s findings of inconsistencies in the former vice president’s documentary, leading to a confrontation that ultimately ended up with his microphone being cut off.
Though McAleer insisted that there wasn’t “any grand plan” behind his exchange with Gore, it provided him precisely the kind of publicity he wanted — presenting him as the intrepid truth-seeker muzzled by the evil liberal media…

Besides exposing the inherent problems of the arguments supporting the idea of human-induced global warming, the mere presence of filmmakers like McAleer asking tough questions should prompt the rest of us to ask questions like this: “What is the explanation for one of the stalwarts of fair-and-balanced journalism, PBS’ “NewsHour with Jim Lehrer”, never once asking guests such as Michael Oppenheimer or Stephen Schneider about conclusions contradictory to theirs offered by skeptic scientists?”
Do a site search of the NewsHour, and you will see no such questions, nor any counterbalancing guests to those supporting the IPCC conclusions. One can only speculate what their answer would be if people like McAleer asked them to defend this situation.
Excellent points made here, Russell. Questions for balance, information about the myriad of scientific journals and studies proving that global warming is non-existent, are being withheld. This “debate” is NOT a debate, since only one side is being presented in the media, even on PBS.
