I can’t add substantively to what You, AFVET and Jeff Ray have already said….except perhaps an older perspective. Al Gore, et al, are a joke. Fifty years ago he would have been laughed and ridiculed off any stage he mounted to regurgitate his clap trap. When I was in High school (Some little time after Noah’s flood), and near your son’s age, we studied about the warming and cooling cycles the earth went through and the effects on the population of these cycles. The advancement of mankind leaped forward during each warming cycle and was impeded during the cooling cycles. All indications are that we are now entering another cooling cycle.

The only reason Gore is taken seriously by some today is because our schools have come under socialist control. For the last half century, each generation of children has been subjected to the constant drip, drip, drip of liberal indoctrination. Notice I equate Socialist and Liberal in the last sentence. That is not a typo.

As much as this probably frosts Al Gore’s cookies, God is in control of the end of the world, not Al Gore. The earth was made for our use and we were instructed to subdue it and make use of it. I know the bible doesn’t have much credibility among the powers that be anymore…….but that is their problem and not the bibles. Do you notice that liberals start almost every sentence with, “The truth is…..” when they wouldn’t know the truth if it ran over them on the highway? It Reminds me of Pilate when he stood seven feet from the only pure truth in the universe and asked, “What is truth?”

I left out that my son had to take a test following the movie, a test that will be computed into his math grade.

In rebellion, he sabotaged it and got a failing grade. The plot thickens here.

You’d be so right, Jeff. There was no analysis of how propaganda is used as a political tool, no dissection of fallacious argumentation, no debate about using “bad math” in public… there wasn’t anything that would remotely dovetail a math course’s curriculum or course material… no, for your son and mine, it was a sneaky one-side political sales pitch.

It sounds like your son has a good head on his shoulders. You and I and millions of American parents need to continue to be vigilant about what is going on in our government and have frequent family talks with our kids. They are our future, and they must be armed with the facts if they are to be strengthened to do battle against the statists when they are adults. You and I won’t live forever (sigh), so it is up to our kids to continue to keep socialism and Communism at bay. To be courageous patriots and to uphold our Constitution and the foundation that was laid so long ago by our founding fathers.

Concerning your son being forced to watch it in math class: my son was forced to watch it in English class in a Tucson school. He was disgusted and angry.

The only way I could see this as beneficial would be if in math class they examined the how statistics are slippery–what we used to call “bad math in public.” And in English class to examine rhetoric, hyperbole and logical fallacies. I am confident they did neither.

What the watching of Gore’s film did to the children at the beginning of “Not Evil” constitutes child abuse based on my experience and training. And that statement applies even if Gore is correct. It is even more heinous for them to suffer emotionally for a lie.

The propaganda that these kids are exposed to is deplorable.
Your son could decide to go to college and he may be inundated with liberal policies depending on which college he selects.
However, he obviously has a heads up on the nefarious intentions of the present administration, and the liberal philosophies they espouse.
