Philadelphia: Another ACORN falls from the depraved, corruption tree in the City of Brotherly Love, or is it now ACORN's City of 'Prostitute Love'?
Benjamin Franklin loved Philadelphia, and lived there much of his life. Franklin was a beloved, dynamic force in early America, inventing a number of practical items like the Franklin stove, bifocals, lightning rod, and the catheter, starting up the nation’s first public library, becoming the owner and publisher of The Philadelphia Gazette, serving as the nation’s first Postmaster General, Minister to France, negotiating a peace treaty with Great Britain… the list of his remarkable accomplishments goes on and on. He also penned a number of axioms, clever, snappy sayings that have become common and many of which we still use today.
It was Franklin who coined the axiom, “Little strokes fell great oaks.” And from great oaks come… wait for it… acorns. Such irony that yet another ACORN scandal is now uncovered by our young, intrepid team of James O’Keefe and Hannah Giles. This time, the corruption is in Franklin’s beloved Philadelphia.
“Little strokes” from two young journalists are indeed felling a depraved, gigantic tree of corruption.

Let’s count ‘em up: Baltimore, Washington DC, New York City, San Bernardino, San Diego, and now, Philadelphia. That’s SIX ACORN offices caught on tape in major US cities by O’Keefe and Giles. SIX. Her angry assertion that corruption has been isolated, just a few “bad apples” in an office or two that ACORN CEO Bertha Lewis has crowed about sounds more like CYA “don’t blame us, we’re the innocent victims” bleating anymore. Shameful.

About the author
As Fox News continues to be marginalized by the White House and the Popular Rule in the interest of promoting state-run media as well other more favorable outlets, a great disservice is being done to the institution that is the Press. Our Founding Fathers respected this institution enough to include the RIGHT that protects it in the same Amendment as religion. They fully understood the importance of a free press and its ability to prevent tyranny from ever coming to our shores.
I am not saying that the work of Giles and O’Keefe should be thought of as transcendent or even patriotic, but I am absolutely stating that they should be commended for their efforts in every way imaginable. If their work inspired one person to engage in similar behavior to expose corruption, fraud, or mismanagement of government resources – at either end of the political or ideological spectrum – then they have done this country and the institution of the press a great service and we owe them our thanks.
