Filmmaker Michael Moore, hypocritical 'Limousine Leftist,' should expose REAL atrocities, like the abusive treatment of female Saudi journalists

Michael Moore, no one wants to see your movie about how terrible capitalism is… especially when you’re a filthy rich millionaire jackass.

Maybe a handful of loopy statists who embrace socialism do and all the left-wing celebrities who want child rapist Roman Polanski freed, but the vast majority of Americans (including a growing number of leftists) don’t embrace your unabashed hypocrisy nor agree with you or your out-of-touch hatred for what makes America the jewel of hope, freedom, and human dignity that it is.

I don’t begrudge anyone spending their money as they deem fit. It’s when they act like Michael “I’ll Bash Anything Conservatives Like for a Few Bucks” Moore in order to earn it that I get enraged.

You’ve done pretty well for yourself via capitalism, Mikey. A million-dollar home in Manhattan, a million-dollar beachfront house in Michigan, private school for your child… impressive. Although your earlier magic touch with films like Bowling for Columbine is waning and you’re scraping the bottom of the barrel for ideas.

Does the “Limousine Leftist” hypocrisy of your millions of dollars in the bank make you feel even a tiny bit guilty, make you feel like a gigantic fraud? Once you give your immense wealth away to those you claim you deem are more worthy of it, maybe then you’ll seem less like an annoying shill, like a rotund barking bulldog.

On the other hand, I challenge you, Mr. Moore, to investigate and report on the horrific treatment of women journalists in Islamic countries and their lack of freedom of speech and freedom of the press.

The deplorable case this week of Rozana al-Yami (some sources spell her name Rosanna Al-Yami) is just one of many you could expose. We often take for granted the freedoms of America until we read about something like this horrific injustice.

I suspect, though, that Michael Moore isn’t too broken up about a journalist being sentenced to SIXTY lashes for doing nothing to deserve it. He’s too fat-cat comfortable and happy fighting conservative windmills in America, where he enjoys freedom of speech while throwing mud on the country that gives him that freedom. The 9th-century Islamic sharia law of the flogging of a female journalist would be a REAL exposé of a REAL atrocity in our world today. Too challenging for a money-loving hack like Moore. It’s much easier for him to keep calling George W. Bush a fascist, ignore journalists in the trenches who are being physically abused by their government, and keep cashing those checks.

This story is truly horrifying…

From Naharnet News Desk:

Saudi Female Journalist to be Whipped over TV Show
October 25, 2009

A Saudi female journalist said Saturday that a court has ordered her to receive 60 lashes for working at a television network that aired the sexual confessions of a man.

Rozana al-Yami said a judge in the Red Sea coastal town of Jeddah dropped all charges that she had been directly involved with the episode of a program on LBC, a Saudi-owned Lebanese network, in July.

However, Yami said the judge sentenced her to 60 lashes for having been a part-time employee for LBC’s Saudi operations. The judge mentioned LBC had lacked the appropriate operating license, she said without elaborating.

“It’s a punishment for all journalists through me,” Yami told AFP by telephone.

“They just said the channel was illegal. But the Saudi minister of information himself appeared on LBC a couple of weeks ago,” she said.

Saudi judges base their rulings on strict Islamic sharia law, but it was not immediately clear how the judge in this case reached the verdict.

Yami, 22, until recently a reporter for the Arabic women’s magazine Roaa, said she did not know when her sentence would be carried out. She does not plan an appeal, saying she feared she could end up with a harsher sentence.

Her sentencing comes after Saudi airline sales clerk Mazen Abdul Jawad was convicted of offensive behavior and sentenced to five years in jail and 1,000 lashes on October 7 for his appearance on the LBC show “Bold Red Line,” in which he talked about picking up girls and having sex with them.

Three friends who appeared on the show with him were given two-year terms and 300 lashes each, while a cameraman who helped film the episode was sentenced to two months in jail.

Abdul Jawad’s lawyer Sulaiman al-Jimaie expressed shock at Yami’s sentence because she had nothing to do with him or the episode of the program he appeared in.

Jimaie said the court produced evidence that Yami had helped solicit people to appear on other episodes of “Bold Red Line”, a hit talk show for LBC hosted by TV star Malik Maktebi.

Jimaie was not in the court to hear the judge’s final ruling, but said it is simply because of Yami’s connection to the show, which features discussion about subjects often taboo in conservative Islamic countries like Saudi Arabia that are in LBC’s broad satellite footprint.

“For me it’s about the same program,” he said of her conviction.

“She made an announcement for this program, an email to find others to take part.

“It’s an incredible decision,” he said, comparing it to the recent trials in Sudan of female journalists for wearing “indecent” trousers.

He called it an attack on journalism generally, and questioned why the case was heard in a criminal court rather than a special media tribunal linked to the information ministry.

“They made this decision because she is a journalist,” he told AFP.

“It will be difficult for any journalist to work in the future after this.”

The program has also drawn criticism against LBC and its flamboyant, progressive owner, Saudi multi-billionaire Prince Alwaleed bin Talal from conservative Saudi clerics.

Alwaleed has in recent years pushed hard against Saudi rules banning cinemas and music in public places through his Rotana and LBC media groups.

However, according to media reports Saturday, LBC has decided to stop broadcasting “Bold Red Line” outside of Lebanon. (AFP)

From AllVoices: Female Saudi JOURNALIST sentenced to 60 lashes for sex show:

A female Saudi journalist has been sentenced to 60 lashes for her involvement in a TV show that featured a man detailing his sexual conquests. The court also banned Rosanna Al-Yami from leaving the country for two years, sources tell CNN. She is believed to be the first Saudi journalist ever sentenced to lashes, though it’s not clear she was even involved in the controversial episode. Al-Yama works for the Lebanese Broadcasting Corp. as a show coordinator, but she apparently had no direct involvement in the episode of “A Thick Red Line” that caused all the fuss. No matter—the judge sentenced her as a “deterrence,” she tells the AP. “I am too frustrated and upset to appeal the sentence,” she adds. As for the man who boasted of his sex life on the show: he’s currently serving a 5-year sentence.

Would love to see the White House take a bit of an interest in this international story rather than expend so much crybaby energy on maligning and attacking FOX News. On the other hand, it could backfire, spurring the warped idea that flogging journalists or talk show hosts on FOX with whom Team Obama are angry would be worth exploring.

So, never mind.

  1. In complete sympathy with your articles about Michael Moore. Let us know who we can help.

Did you see the John Stoll article last Friday, Oct 22, 2009? “Michael Moore: A love story – Not So Much So. He said of all the films in the growing cottage industry of taking on Michael Moore in his own style, “there is nothing quite like “SoootingMichaelMoore”.

Official movie site at shootingmichaelmoore.com and fan site at hypocrite.com. If you can, please tell your readers your opinion of these efforts of filmmaker Kevin Leffler.

Thanks for heads up on the Stoll piece, Chief – I will definitely read it and I am sure many readers here will be interested in it, too. I had read about the “Shooting Michael Moore” film, and it’s definitely a well-deserved karma thing. Kudos to Kevin Leffler.

The more I learn about Moore, the more I loath him.
