President Barack 'Who Cares about Record Unemployment' Obama on mini-vacation at Camp David today
The unemployment numbers have risen yet again and are frightening.
Pres. Obama’s disintegrating economy… the worst unemployment numbers in our nation, at 10.2 percent, since 1983. Under-employment spikes those numbers up to a horrific 17.5 percent. The worst economy in decades, and where, pray tell, is Pres. Obama right now? Taking a nice little weekend jaunt to Camp David. He left this afternoon for a weekend mini-vacation after giving a spirited pep talk to Congress about passing his and Pelosi’s power-grabbing trillion-dollar health care takeover.
How’s the golf game going, Mr. President? Have you been able to fit a visit in to Fort Hood, where the worst attack on a US-soil military base has occurred in recent history? Didn’t think so.

In October, the number of unemployed persons increased by 558,000 to 15.7 million. The unemployment rate rose by 0.4 percentage point to 10.2 percent, the highest rate since April 1983. Since the start of the recession in December 2007, the number of unemployed persons has risen by 8.2 million, and the unemployment rate has grown by 5.3 percentage points.

The AP has been trying hard to sell the idea of recovery over the last few weeks, but even the AP can’t spin double-digit unemployment. In a piece published last night, they took a decidedly pessimistic tone in reporting the accelerating pace of job losses, using the somewhat ironic headline “What recovery?”
UPDATE: Oh, yeah… Obama finally made it to Fort Hood. When to boilerplate a speech, and when not to… not at a memorial. And not when you’re POTUS. And the president’s political correctness is going overboard.

Fox News’ Lt. Col. Ralph Peters tells Bill O’Reilly that while he was “moved” by President Obama’s service for the Fort Hood victims – even though he admitted that it appeared to be “boilerplate” and “clearly written by speechwriters that never served in the military” – he’s “offended” that Obama said it was “hard to comprehend” that it was “an act of an Islamic terrorist.”
“It’s clear that the problem is Islam.” He’s also baffled that there was no reference to “terrorism” in the speech, and doesn’t think Obama has the guts to admit that it was “an act of terrorism.”
Peters also took a parting shot at General George Casey, who said the Fort Hood attack was “a kick in the gut.” “Good God, he needs to stop talking about diversity” and “spend more time thinking about the soldiers that died or were wounded at Fort Hood… At some point, you just need to knock off the B.S.”
