Montana, with all due respect, I don't agree with you.

Because he was called names (something that all of us, ALL of us no matter our gender or race, have endured through our lives), this somehow justifies his anti-American communications with TERRORISTS? I am not convinced this happened to any extent that would then justify his murderous actions. Statistics bear out that "Muslim hate crimes" are at a record low and have been dropping for the past five years. I know enough military folks that calling Hasan a "camel jockey" would have resulted in the name caller being smacked down and chastised by his peers for racism. Our soldiers are among the most non-racist people in any group worldwide. The term "camel jockey" is a rather mild insult, compared to those insults and attacks made on Jews, Catholics, Protestants, the Irish, women, blacks, gays, Native Americans, Asians, Hispanics, ugly people (all races), and overweight people (all races) through out history. This seems like a fabricated left-wing excuse for Hasan's murdering of 13 people, which could have been 40 or more had a brave woman, Kimberly Munley, not taken him down.

Questions: Hasan's affiliation with al Qaeda over a long period of time is not his fault? That yelling "Allah Akbar!" during his rampage of terrorism, of shooting young unarmed soldiers execution-style, is a normal consequence of PTSD? I agree that the warning signs were there for Hasan (now that he went on a terrorist spree, it's easy to connect the dots) and the Army should have noticed them and addressed them, but I do not buy into his "victimhood" nor in the Army being responsible for his terrorism. Second guessing what the Army should have done is unfortuantely being an armchair referree and trying to shift any responsibility for this tragedy from Hasan to the Army. Nope, don't accept it.

All terrorists are unhappy people. But not all unhappy people are terrorists.

Montana, I'm recommending that you read the whole piece again carefully - it appears you either skimmed it or didn't read it at all. There is no "guessing" about McVeigh and Nicholas being soulless terrorists and traitors - Hasan is exactly, undeniably the same. Calling any of them "wackos" is an understatement for the death and destruction they planned and executed in Oklahoma City, while working with known terrorists. This nonsense about Nicholas not being executed because "he was a Christian" is poppycock, but if you have real documented sources to support that claim, I'm all ears.

Hasan's terrorist ties are now cascading out of the woodwork... we'll know much more about his traitorous al Qaeda communications by the end of the week. Much of the fringe media is trying to paint him as a sympathetic character that we should feel sorry for... what a crock.

UPDATE: This just breaking... <strong>Atlas Shrugs: <a href+"http://atlasshrugs2000.typepad.com/atlas_shrugs/2009/11/major-muslims-calling-card-soa-soldier-of-allah.html" rel="nofollow">Major Muslim's Calling Card: "SoA", "Soldier of Allah"</a></strong>

I will be posting on this tomorrow.

My heart and prayers go out to all the victims, the victims family and friends.

From all the news reports it appears this Major is a career military man and that in his current position for less than a year and was not going well. He did not want to be deployed and in fact wanted out of the Army, so he paid back his military student loans and hired an attorney.

The reason may have been that he was being harassed and called names like “camel jockey ”. I guess all that sensitivity training for those with bigotry tendencies are all for not. (Can training real change the way you were brought up?)

Another reason is called PTSD by proxy, the stress of treating PTSD in other soldiers make you go a little crazy yourself. Its even more stressful because most of the higher ranks don’t even believe in such thing as PTSD. Their denial prompts them to tell suffering soldiers to “drink it off.” Some civilians in the defense dept feel the same way no doubt IMO, it’s why hardly anything is mentioned of PTSD until one of these violent episodes occurs. These people see PTSD as a cop-out or an excuse. First we need to have an understanding that PTSD actually is real before we can ever hope to help treat it (does anyone believe that being shot at or killing your fellow man is not going to affect you in some way either then or in the future?). I guess with the high soldier suicide rate before and after deployment kinda takes care of the complaints from coming in (so those who said he should have just killed himself, well that’s already happening ). What real ticked me off when I heard that the military was trying to say that some soldiers coming back from this war with PTSD or other psychological disorders had “Pre-Existing Conditions” and that the military would not pay to treat them, I think it has been corrected but what a bunch of asses they break you and don’t want to pay, amazing.

The final issue is why does the military want to keep people in their ranks that no longer want to be there is it just sheer number? I mean is it ten percent, twenty percent. Is it that it is the only contract in the US that you can’t get out of unless to kill yourself or kill your fellow soldiers? It does not make any sense to me.

I guess the Major could just be another wacko like Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nicholas, of course McVeigh was executed and apparently because Nicholas became a Christian he received a life sentenced. I real think if he gets that far the Major will get the former and not in a million years the latter.

This is so messed up, hopefully they will make some changes that make sense.
