Fort Hood shooter: Army Major Nidal Hasan bought a 'cop killer' gun in August. Terrorist attack not looking so spontaneous, FBI was not notified of Hasan's gun purchase.

Army Major Nidal Hasan reportedly bought a “cop killer” gun in August. His terrorist attack on the soldiers at Fort Hood is not looking so spontaneous as left-wingers are trying to paint it. Also of concern is that the FBI was not notified of Hasan’s gun purchase, even though his terrorist ties were not new.

Hasan is looking less and less like a pitiable sap who simply was “under stress” before snapping, as President Obama is fervently proclaiming. (Actually, I never thought Hasan was a pitiable sap, but I’m including my “fair and balanced” rhetoric for the lefties, especially for those statist bubbleheads who still think child rapist/pervert Roman Polanski is a cool dude who should be freed and that Perez Hilton is a harmless old gay teddy bear).

To Mr. Obama: Quit being naive or working overtime as an apologist for jihad. Neither is confidence-building for our nation.

Senior federal investigators confirmed Tuesday night that since last December, the FBI monitored from 10 to 20 “communications” between suspected Fort Hood shooter Nidal Malik Hasan and an overseas terror suspect known for preaching violence and expressing sympathy for Al Qaeda.

But although an FBI-led task force undertook an “assessment” of the Army psychiatrist as a result of those contacts, counter-terror officials concluded earlier this year that Hasan’s communications with the terror suspect were “protected” by “free speech” and did not warrant opening up a criminal investigation of him, the investigators said.

Still, counterterror officials were never told about one key piece of investigative information: that Hasan had purchased a high-powered semiautomatic pistol on Aug. 1, just weeks after he was transferred by the Army to Fort Hood. Such gun purchases automatically trigger a federally mandated background check.

Absent the federally collected data that Hasan was arming himself with a Belgian-made FN Herstal 5.7 pistol—a weapon that gun-control groups have portrayed as a “cop killer”—the bureau’s counterterrorism officials found there was insufficient grounds to raise additional concerns about Hassan within the government.

“From an investigative standpoint, there’s all kind of information we’d like to know,” said one senior U.S. government investigator when asked whether the federally collected gun data about Hasan’s weapons purchase might have influenced the bureau’s handling of his case.

The disclosure about the failure to share the data about Hasan’s purchase of the gun (one of two weapons he later used to kill 13 people last Thursday) is sure to be one of a host of issues that are likely to provoke public debate—and internal government reviews.

Is Daley totally daft? Has the Chicago mayor taken a recent look at the out-of-control crime rate in his deteriorating city? Gun control in Chicago has been an unmitigated failure, unless you talked to a criminal with an illegal gun or two. Then he’d say, “MAN, I LOVE THIS TOWN!”

Mr. Daley, when did you start thinking a nation’s military not having guns is a GOOD idea, you myopic, liberal chucklehead? Criminals don’t follow the rules, Mr. Daley, but sure love it when idiotic liberal politicians make their rule-breaking and thuggery/criminal livelihoods just that much easier.

Mayor Daley, and other politicians, like to blame gun violence on the guns themselves because that is so much easier than admitting any inconvenient (politically incorrect) truths which might be revealed if they were to place blame where it belongs.

Kids murdering each other in the inner city? That’s because of guns, not the War On Drugs which turns poor children into black market drug distributing gang members.

Islamists murdering people while shouting Allah Akbar? That’s because of guns, not the Jihad being perpetrated globally against all so called “infidels”.

They blame guns because guns don’t vote.

Taking Mayor Daley at face value for a moment, is he seriously arguing for increased gun control on a military base? If there had been more guns around, this ticking Jihad bomb could have been put down a lot faster than he was.

It is no secret that Chicago is a violence-plagued city, that takes turns with the District of Columbia as America’s “murder capitol.” It is also no secret that Chicago’s handgun ban fails to disarm criminals, while serving only to ensure that crime victims are defenseless.

Read the rest at the American Thinker site, as Lewis’ description of the patriotism of the older generation responding to patriotic tunes played in an airport will give you goose bumps, while the latter part on socialism and George Soros will give you chills:

Some people have a government, and some governments have a people, said Ronald Reagan. We are being turned into a nation where the government owns the people. It is the demagogic heirs to the dreadful history of slavery who are now trying to turn the tables; Obama is a slave-master in the making. He looks the part, he acts the part, and behind the scenes, his commissars are making it happen.

Obama has never displayed his bitter, long-harbored resentment toward America quite as obviously as he did after the Fort Hood massacre. The president couldn’t figure out how to respond with the dignity befitting his office.
