Polls: Military Approval Ranks High with Americans, 81% Favorable… On Fort Hood Shooting, 60% Say Investigate As Terrorist Act

81% View U.S. Military Favorably This Veterans Day
As the nation honors its veterans today, 81% of Americans say they have a favorable opinion of the U.S. military, the highest finding in five years of surveying by Rasmussen Reports.
Only nine percent (9%) have an unfavorable opinion of the military, according to the latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey. Ten percent (10%) aren’t sure how they view those serving in the armed forces.
In annual surveys dating back to 2005, those having a favorable opinion of the U.S. military have ranged from 71% to 79%.
Concerning the Fort Hood massacre last week… also from Rasmussen Reports:
Sixty percent (60%) of likely voters nationwide say last week’s shootings at Fort Hood should be investigated by military authorities as a terrorist act.

Sixty-five percent (65%) of all voters say Major Nidal Malik Hasan should receive the death penalty if convicted. Nineteen percent (19%) disagree, and 16% aren’t sure.

Our military is the best in the world, and anytime I can “toot their horn,” by golly, I’m GONNA TOOT. Damn those lily-livered statists and the nonsense that is going on to defend Muslim terrorists. Our men and women, both active and retired, in the military should be showered with praise and appreciation every day for all that they have done for our nation. And to you, too, AFVET… you have served this nation, willing to make the ultimate sacrifice, with honor and patriotism. I’ll toot your horn often as well, dear sir.
Many Americans are spoiled little babies and they need a good shaking once in a while to realize how wonderful America is, how precious our freedoms are. And one primary reason America is the jewel it is is because of our military.
