Obama’s Strategy of Lying about His Failing Economic Policies Is Backfiring

So, is lying and fabricating numbers the new Team Obama strategy to promote Obama’s failing economic policies?

Sure looks like it. And few are falling for the ruse.

From Rep. Darryl Issa, Washington Examiner: Fake job numbers vital to stimulus propaganda:

Since President Obama took office, the American people have been subjected to an aggressive propaganda campaign designed to convince them that the $787 billion stimulus bill is working. Month after month, as unemployment continues to rise, the administration has sent its spinmeisters out to trumpet an altogether dubious number of jobs “created or saved.”

Vice President Biden — the man appointed by the president to oversee the recovery effort — has shamelessly continued to claim credit for as many as one million jobs that the administration argues the stimulus has “created or saved.”

Meanwhile, unemployment hit the highest point in a quarter century, and 3.8 million more Americans are out of work since the White House promised to “get the economy moving again.” There’s good reason to doubt the president’s policies are working.

“Here in Washington, we’ve all seen how quickly good intentions can turn into broken promises and wasteful spending,” the president noted in his State of the Union address while responding to skepticism about the stimulus. “And with a plan of this scale comes enormous responsibility to get it right.

“That is why I’ve asked Vice President Biden to lead a tough, unprecedented oversight effort — because nobody messes with Joe.”

Apparently, somebody is messing with Joe. Or even worse, Joe seems to be messing with us.

On top of espousing fictitious jobs claims, the White House has now directed the stimulus auditor to report inaccurate information on the Recovery.gov Web site. This continues to occur even as media reports savage the ridiculously inaccurate data.

From $1.2 million in stimulus funds that saved 935 jobs at a Georgia community council with only 508 employees, to a $1,047 lawnmower in Arkansas purchased with stimulus funds that resulted in 50 jobs, to the $26,174 grant for roof repairs in Texas that created 450 jobs, the signature item in the president’s economic policy has been fraught with Enron-style accounting tricks and fraudulent reporting.

And all from a president who promised an “unprecedented level of openness and transparency.”

The manifest inaccuracies in the data the Obama administration uses to justify its economic policies constitutes the promulgation of inaccurate and misleading information by the federal government. The American people deserve a straightforward accounting of the way the president spends their tax dollars, and they have the right to expect a return on their “investment.”

Hilarious… a Republican activist in New Hampshire has entered the race in one of Obama’s non-existent districts… one that “supposedly” received a huge amount of stimulus money. Read about it at Gateway Pundit: Republican Activist Enters Race in New Hampshire’s 00 District.

From Star Tribune: Pawlenty criticizes Recovery.gov errors:

ABC News reported this morning that Recovery.gov, the Obama administration’s Web site to track stimulus spending, was calculating jobs created in non-existent congressional districts.

Gov. Tim Pawlenty picked up on the news this afternoon, tweeting “Fed spending out of control- it appears to go places that don’t exist. MN has 8 cong districts; Recovery.gov says we have a 57th.”

He’s right. In fact, not only does the site list a 57th district, but there’s also a “42nd,” a “27th” and even a “00,” which received about $400,000.

From Publius, Big Government: Real Obama Miracle: Creates Jobs AND Congressional Districts With Wave of Hand:

Here’s a stimulus success story: In Arizona’s 15th congressional district, 30 jobs have been saved or created with just $761,420 in federal stimulus spending. At least that’s what the Web site set up by the Obama administration to track the $787 billion stimulus says.

There’s one problem, though: There is no 15th congressional district in Arizona; the state has only eight districts.

From Gateway Pundit, Change! Obama’s Monthly Deficit Tops Bush’s Yearly Deficit:

More Hope & Change–
Obama’s October Deficit topped Bush’s Deficit for All of 2007

Team Obama was off on their October budget predictions by nearly $20 billion.

The deficit for the first month of the 2010 fiscal year reached $176 billion.

(It must be Bush’s fault, right?)

[...]

Obama tripled the national deficit his first year in office and he’s off to a record-setting start in fiscal year 2010.

Despite the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, Hurricane Katrina, the Clinton Recession he inherited, and the 9-11 attacks, President Bush brought down the national budget deficit from 412 billion dollars in 2004 to 162 billion dollars in 2007.

From Associated Press, Stimulus jobs overstated by thousands:

An early progress report on President Barack Obama’s economic recovery plan overstates by thousands the number of jobs created or saved through the stimulus program, a mistake that White House officials promise will be corrected in future reports.

The government’s first accounting of jobs tied to the $787 billion stimulus program claimed more than 30,000 positions paid for with recovery money. But that figure is overstated by least 5,000 jobs, according to an Associated Press review of a sample of stimulus contracts.

The AP review found some counts were more than 10 times as high as the actual number of jobs; some jobs credited to the stimulus program were counted two and sometimes more than four times; and other jobs were credited to stimulus spending when none was produced.

For example:

_ A company working with the Federal Communications Commission reported that stimulus money paid for 4,231 jobs, when about 1,000 were produced.

_ A Georgia community college reported creating 280 jobs with recovery money, but none was created from stimulus spending.

_ A Florida child care center said its stimulus money saved 129 jobs but used the money on raises for existing employees.

There’s no evidence the White House sought to inflate job numbers in the report. But administration officials seized on the 30,000 figure as evidence that the stimulus program was on its way toward fulfilling the president’s promise of creating or saving 3.5 million jobs by the end of next year.

Here’s the kicker today… Obama is acknowledging the bad economy, HIS bad economy, but seems to be in denial that HIS policies created HIS mess… quick, where’s that “Blame Bush” card for him to whip out?

From Gateway Pundit: Unreal. Biggest Spender in History Says Too Much Debt Could Fuel Second Recession:

Unreal. This is infuriating.

After spending nearly a trillion of US taxpayer dollars on his record stimulus bill that produced bogus results Obama says that too much debt could result in a second recession.

Barack Obama’s budget deficit in October was greater than George Bush’s budget deficit for all of 2007.

By the way, as your read this remember- Team Obama told us a few months ago that, “Elevated deficits are beneficial.”

From Reuters, Obama: Too much debt could fuel double-dip recession:

BEIJING, Nov 18 (Reuters) – President Barack Obama gave his sternest warning yet about the need to contain rising U.S. deficits, saying on Wednesday that if government debt were to pile up too much, it could lead to a double-dip recession.

Pres. Obama doesn’t seem to realize that HE is the government, and the “government debt that is piling up” that he’s warning about is of HIS doing.

Delusional, deceitful, or just plain clueless?

I would submit, he doesn’t care.
The world is seeing who this guy is, and they don’t trust him.
He thinks he can fool China!?! They smile, and are polite, and then joke behind his back as to how stupid those Americans are.
We made a mistake by electing Obama. The worst mistake we can make in our lives is to make the same one twice.
He told the Chinese that we should have an “open internet”, while scrubbing web-sites in this country of controversial information pertaining to the present administration.

    Delusional,…Yes, due to his arrogance.
Deceitful,…Yes,…intentionally mislead the American People during the campaign.
Clueless,…No, absolutely not. A clueless individual would never have made it this far into the political system without the drive that started many years ago, and recently with Carter, and mainly the Clinton attempt at socializing our precious Country.

The progressive movement obviously will take us to the point of no return, if allowed to proceed on it’s current path.

Beck stated on his radio program that if every penny from every Fortune 500 company existing today were applied to the current debt for 1 year it would amount to 10% on the reduction of the debt.
To eliminate the debt entirely, it would take the companies 145 years!

This is at a debt of 12+ trillion $. Next year we could hit 14 trillion!

It is clear to me that they all think that the American People, and for that matter, the rest of the world, are fools, however the bum rush will not work this time.

    Thanks for your post Admin.
