Insanity: Senate Health Care Bill… Not Read, Not Understood, Not Released to Voters to Review, But WILL Be Voted on Saturday… Tell Them ‘No’ and Kill the Bill

This is so messed-up, so ridiculous, so outrageous… the Senate JUST released their mammoth health care bill, larger than the incoherent nightmare the House released a few weeks ago, and how much time will be spent by our elected public servants on deliberating on it this Saturday?
ONLY TEN HOURS.
I REPEAT, ONLY TEN HOURS.
What is wrong with our government? Why the crazed rush to socialize our health care rather than make an effort to fix what we already have (and much of the expensive mess are out-of-control lawsuits, so why isn’t tort reform even on the table)? Is there some phony-baloney Thanksgiving deadline they are trying to meet to make Reid and Pelosi and Obama happy campers?
Do our senators have any idea what’s in this bill, how much it will cost, what penalties and restrictions and mandates are in it, what American liberties will be sacrificed because of it? Don’t answer any of those questions, they’re rhetorical… NO, of course they don’t know. Because most have not read it, and those who are trying to read it simply don’t have enough time to absorb it all and make sense of it and analyze thoughtfully what this will do to the American public. This evil beasty thing written pretty much exclusively by Democrats is longer than Gone With The Wind, longer than War and Peace.
CALL YOUR SENATOR TODAY AND SATURDAY. Tell them to vote “NO” on this health care bill. We need some sanity in Washington, we need them to take a breath and READ the blasted thing before giving it a green light. Click here for a phone list of senators.

What happened to the 72 hours promised earnestly by Pres. Barack Obama, that any bill of significance to our nation (and this DOES look like it qualifies as significant, as it represents 1/6 of the wealth of our nation and most of our personal liberties) would be made available online for at least 72 hours for American voters to review it? Nancy Pelosi ignored that promise with the ramrodding of the House’s health bill… looks like Sen. “Dirty Harry” Reid of Nevada figures he’ll do the same and not make it publicly available, either. Screw the public… the Democrats know what’s best for us, even though polls show a majority of American voters do NOT want this government-run health care.

The obsession Speaker Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid have with passing health care strikes some Democratic moderates as a completely misplaced priority. Polls show that fewer than a fifth of Americans rank health care reform as the most important issue. Their biggest concern right now is jobs. Only 29% of voters in the latest Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll believe the economy “has hit the bottom.”
Yes, we need health reform. But this bill, like the House bill before it, is being rammed down our throats and no one in the Senate is able to tell you what in the hell is in it. Even the authors would be hard-pressed to answer questions about it. And we have no way of knowing if it will make our health care situation worse, not better, as the House’s PelosiCare bill has already proven.
This is a repeat of what happened with the House health care bill…

The great empires of the past failed, and collapsed from within due to the fact that the people could not change the direction the rulers were taking their empire towards.
The Romans and the Greeks, and the Babylonians taxed the people to the point that the people could not support the government’s ability to defend it’s taxpayers, therefore the government was invaded by another country and the whole scene starts over.
These countries employed slaves to build the monuments that exist today.
The Romans were radical, imposing their will on the populace.
The Greeks were radical, conquering other people to force them to do their bidding.
This Democratic congress is nudging the U.S. to unlimited governmental control of the American economy, and American Liberties.
We are not slaves yet.The government cannot force us to build roads, and bridges, and canals, and buildings, and oh wait!, didn’t Roosevelt do that in the 30’s?
The economy may demand the above scenario.
Voters beware!
The lessons of history should serve our government as a cautionary tale. Arrogantly, though, so many think they can overcome what others before them could not. All are caught up in their own vanity and lust for power.
