Wow.
One thing you can never say about American Idol’s runner-up from the 2009 season… Adam Lambert is not boring.
This sexually charged, kinky performance from yesterday’s AMA is in the video below… some critics are attacking him like hungry wolves, while others are embracing his boldness and originality. Some call the performance provocative, others say it’s horrifically close to porn. It was censored for West Coast viewing.
Nope, Adam’s never boring.
Caution: When watching the video of Lambert’s performance, be aware that no American Idol EVER has done a performance like this. We’re not in Kansas anymore, Toto.

After seeing the over-the-top album cover Lambert approved for his AI debut album, no one should be 100 percent shocked at the AMA performance. The man can sing like no one’s business, but that album cover was just a prelude of what was yet to come. Whether or not the young fan base of American Idol, those teeny boppers who voted for Lambert week after week, will want to buy any of his albums remains to be seen. I give him some props for his courage to be himself… but in an industry that eats its own daily, and after watching this S&M performance (after which watching, I honestly felt I needed to take a shower, and I am a Lambert fan), it’s tough to say which way Lambert’s career will go after the AMA performance.

ANOTHER UPDATE: A few hours later after Good Morning America announced its cancellation, CBS Early Show added him to the lineup. Lambert will discuss the controversial AMA appearance and will perform live tomorrow morning.

An ABC source said, ‘The network is giving a mixed message – that it doesn’t trust someone who shocked with an unpredictable show and a gay kiss, but then it is happy to go ahead with Chris Brown, who was convicted of felony assault.’ ABC News has insisted that Lambert’s sexual orientation did not play a role in its decision to pull the plug on his ‘GMA’ appearance this week.
ABC insiders said they ruled the ‘American Idol’ star’s sexed-up shenanigans on Sunday’s awards show — which included him groping a female dancer, kissing a male musician and shoving a male dancer’s face into his crotch — were inappropriate for morning TV.
