America is shouting, telling Congress we don’t want this abomination of a botched-up government-run health care bill. Shouting at the top of our lungs ’til our throats are raw. Are you all friggin’ deaf?

2010 can’t get here soon enough, boys and girls… more Americans than ever are just ITCHING to vote these cretinous whores out. No scruples, no servants to the people, they’ll sell their votes to the highest bidder. Right, Louisiana?

From Rasmussen Reports, Health Care Reform: Support for Health Care Plan Falls to New Low:

Just 38% of voters now favor the health care plan proposed by President Obama and congressional Democrats. That’s the lowest level of support measured for the plan in nearly two dozen tracking polls conducted since June.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 56% now oppose the plan.

Half the survey was conducted before the Senate voted late Saturday to begin debate on its version of the legislation. Support for the plan was slightly lower in the half of the survey conducted after the Senate vote.

Prior to this, support for the plan had never fallen below 41%. Last week, support for the plan was at 47%. Two weeks ago, the effort was supported by 45% of voters.

Intensity remains stronger among those who oppose the push to change the nation’s health care system: 21% Strongly Favor the plan while 43% are Strongly Opposed.

And no sacrifice is too great for some weaselly Democrats, even to the point of career seppuku. Although, it isn’t too much of a sacrifice to continue to stick it to Colorado voters if it was already common knowledge that your Rocky Mountain constituents are sick to death of you…

It’s not every day you see a politician extend a rhetorical middle finger to his constituents, so enjoy this. It’s no mere hypothetical, either. His numbers in Colorado have been weak for months; meanwhile, The One’s approval rating there slipped below 50 percent as far back as April. Bennet’s facing a tough primary challenge, where he’ll be hammered if he votes no, and then what’ll no doubt be a tough general election, where he’ll be hammered if he votes yes. He might as well vote his conscience and prepare for the firing squad. Besides, Democrats aren’t really concerned with voters anymore. They’re answering to … a higher power now.

What’s Reid’s back-up plan if Obama’s ratings crumble a bit further and even Democrats like Bennet start to panic? Wonder-twin powers, activate! Form of a RINO!

Colorado Sen. Michael Bennet made weekend headlines with his noble declaration that he’ll stand by the Demcare takeover — even if it means losing his job.

Since he was already well on his way to losing his seat thanks to his reckless vote for generational theft and bogus government job inflation, where’s the sacrifice?

This isn’t called standing on principle. It’s called cutting his losses preemptively.

From The Hill: Snowe still in discussions with Obama about final health vote:

Though Sen. Olympia Snowe (R-Maine) still plans to vote against Saturday night’s procedural motion on the healthcare bill, she is still in talks with President Barack Obama regarding her final vote on the legislation.

Snowe said that she spoke to Obama while he was aboard Air Force One en route to Asia earlier this week.

“He restated his intention of working with me on this issue,” Snowe told a group of reporters. She said that there “there are still fundamental issues that still need to be confronted” before she would considering voting for the bill during later votes.

Throughout the debate, Snowe has opposed the government-run public healthcare option as is it written in the legislation. She has indicated that she would support a “trigger” induced public option that would come into effect should health insurance companies fail to meet certain performance benchmarks.

From Politico: The White House’s climate conundrum:

Health care reform remains the focal point of legislative policymaking in Washington. And that may not change for a while. Nobody thought the current debate would be easy or fast. But everyone agrees it has extracted nearly all the oxygen out of the Capitol and taken longer than expected.

The extended debate about health care has inflicted collateral damage on other initiatives. Climate change is one of the most obvious. It’s a major White House and Democratic priority. Yet, like health care, it’s also proved equally contentious and partisan.

The House passed its version of the legislation in June by a razor-thin 219-212 vote. Forty-four Democrats voted against the measure. Now the action has turned to the Senate, but momentum has stalled. Sen. Barbara Boxer — the chairwoman of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee that has jurisdiction over the bill — has no Republican support among her colleagues. Several other senators, including John Kerry (D-Mass.), Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) and Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.), have been trying to find bipartisan common ground. But those efforts — to date — have not gained a lot of altitude, either.
