Fort Bragg Loves Sarah Palin, Also Visits Rev. Billy Graham (video)

Sarah Palin's book tour is going like gangbusters... she has also visited Fort Bragg and Rev. Billy Graham this week
Despite the Obama-bot fringe media’s ongoing attempt to lambaste and diminish Sarah Palin’s impact on the American people (having ex-convict and home decorating pundit Martha Stewart bash her is just too darned funny), the Going Rogue book signing tour is bringing out thousands of people from all walks of life.
Palin visited Fort Bragg in North Carolina (God bless our troops!) and took time out of her book tour to meet Rev. Billy Graham this week.

From Boston Herald, Fort Bragg turns out for Sarah Palin:
FORT BRAGG, N.C. – Thousands of fans greeted Sarah Palin on her book-signing tour at this military base in a campaign-like gathering that tested military rules involving politicians.
The military bars politicians from using bases for campaigning, so Palin didn’t give a speech and simply thanked soldiers individually. The former GOP vice-presidential candidate was allowed to hold the event as a private citizen, a Fort Bragg spokesman said.
Army officials initially feared the book-signing might turn political and negative comments would be directed at President Obama. They barred media from attending but later relented. Many who attended voiced their opposition to the commander in chief.

Sarah Palin’s book tour hits NC’s Fort Bragg
By MIKE BAKER (AP)FORT BRAGG, N.C. — Sarah Palin brought her book-signing tour to North Carolina’s Fort Bragg on Monday as thousands greeted the former Republican vice presidential candidate in a campaign-like gathering that tested military rules involving politicians.
The Department of Defense typically prohibits politicians from using installations as a platform, so Palin didn’t give a speech and simply thanked soldiers individually. She was allowed to hold the event as a private citizen who was not campaigning, a Fort Bragg spokesman said.
Army officials initially feared the book signing might turn political and negative comments would be directed at President Barack Obama, so they barred media from attending. The Army later relented and allowed coverage, and many people who attended did voice their opposition to the commander in chief.
Palin’s tour bus parked nearby, splashed with her photo, encouraged donations to her political action committee, while supporters made clear that she should run for president.
Palin’s father, who greeted visitors as his daughter signed copies of the book, said in an interview that Obama’s handling of the military was “scary.”
“I see a decline in our might,” Chuck Heath said. “People used to be afraid of us and respect us, (but) they’re not afraid of us and don’t respect us anymore.”

Later in Birmingham, Ala., hundreds of fans packed the Colonial Brookwood Village Mall at Homewood and chanted Palin’s name for her book signing. A crowd estimated by police at about 1,800 lined up beginning Saturday night for a chance to get one of the 1,000 wristbands needed to meet Palin.
Hundreds of Palin supporters also arrived early at Fort Bragg, and one woman spent nearly 24 hours in line. Officials estimated that some 4,000 turned out. More than 500 had to be turned away as the three-hour signing ended.
From the Charlotte Observer, Matters of faith, politics on table as Palin visits Graham:
Sarah Palin, the hottest name in the Republican Party, took a detour from her book-signing tour Sunday to dine with Billy Graham at his mountaintop home in Montreat.
“He’s followed her career and likes her strong stand on faith,” said son Franklin Graham, who was present for the 2 1/2-hour get-together. “Daddy feels God was using her to wake America up.”
The former Alaska governor and 2008 GOP vice presidential candidate told Billy Graham about how she came to faith in God as a girl in Bible camp.
She quizzed him on the presidents he’s known and wanted his take on what the Bible says about Israel, Iran and Iraq, Franklin Graham reported.

Billy Graham is no longer a regular visitor to the White House and his travels are now room to room, not country to country.
But a private meeting with the Charlotte-born evangelist – still one of the country’s most admired figures – remains high on the to-do lists of politicians from both parties.
Palin, who will sign copies of “Going Rogue,” her memoir, today at Fort Bragg, brought several family members with her to the Graham homestead: her mother, her father, a maternal aunt and daughter Piper and son Trig.
Free Republic reports from Fayetteville Observer: Cheers, Whistles and a Big Crowd Greet Sarah Palin at Fort Bragg:
Sarah Palin arrived at Fort Bragg this morning to a media mob and cheers from more than 1,000 people lined up for her book-signing event.
About a dozen people had been waiting since Sunday.
Palin’s bus pulled up to the North Post Exchange just after 11:15 a.m. and the former Alaska governor and vice-presidential candidate emerged in a black suit to cheers and whistles.
As she passed the collected media, Palin was asked what she was thankful for this holiday season.
“I’m thankful for the U.S. military, the best in the world,” she said.
The line to see Palin extended far out the door of the post exchange into the raw, drizzly weather. People stood or sat in folding chairs. Some held umbrellas. Many were reading copies of the former Alaska governor’s recently released memoir “Going Rogue.” One woman clutched three copies of the book.
