From Brisbane News: Tiger Woods released from Florida hospital: mayor:
Golf superstar Tiger Woods was released from a Florida hospital Friday after suffering facial lacerations in a car accident, Windermere Mayor Gary Bruhn said.
Media reports, citing the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), said Woods crashed into a fire hydrant and then drove into a tree after leaving his property in the Isleworth community in Windermere, a suburb of Orlando.
“I understand that there was some facial lacerations, he was taken to Health Central Hospital, where he was treated and I’m told that he was released,” Bruhn told CNN.
The golfer’s agent, Mark Steinberg, earlier told CNBC television that Woods “is fine.”
He had been transported to the hospital in Ocoee in “serious condition,” the FHP was quoted as saying.
Woods, who was driving a 2009 black Cadillac Escalade, suffered facial lacerations in the accident which took place at about 2:30 am, according to Bruhn.
Orlando television station WESH 2 said the crash was still under investigation and charges could be pending.
From New York Daily News: World’s top golfer Tiger Woods released from hospital after car accident:
Tiger Woods was hospitalized early Friday when he struck a fire hydrant and a neighbor’s tree while pulling his Cadillac Escalade out of the driveway at his Florida home.
The world’s greatest golfer hit the hydrant about 2:25 a.m. before driving into the tree on adjacent property in the gated community of Isleworth.
He was leaving his $2.4 million Florida mansion when the accident occurred. It was unclear if he was wearing a seat belt.
Woods, 33, was taken by ambulance to North Central Hospital in Ocoee, Fla., in serious condition, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Woods spokesman Glenn Greenspan told The Associated Press that the golfer was treated at the hospital and released in good condition.
A local Florida mayor told CNN that Woods suffered facial lacerations.
UPDATE, November 28, 2009:
From Patterico’s Pontifications: TMZ: Tiger’s Wife Caused Those Facial Lacerations:
If this is true, it would explain what was meant by that cryptic phrase in earlier reports about charges still pending:
Tiger Woods did not suffer facial lacerations from a car accident. They were inflicted by his wife, Elin Nordegren — according to a conversation Woods had Friday after the accident. . . .
We’re told he said his wife had confronted him about reports that he was seeing another woman. The argument got heated and, according to our source, she scratched his face up. We’re told it was then Woods beat a hasty retreat for his SUV — but according to our source, Woods says his wife followed behind with a golf club. As Tiger drove away, she struck the vehicle several times with the club.

it seems strange that Tiger crashed his car right outside of his house; he must have been really distracted
Last nights Parks and Rec is soooo much like Tiger Woods stuff going on now. Really really close…
