Reality Check: Denmark’s Global Warming Hypocrisy Amidst the Copenhagen Enviro Summit & The “Ice Age” of the 1970s
Posted By Vicki McClure Davidson on December 7, 2009
Something smells very fishy in Denmark… the Copenhagen summit for world leaders to decide the planet’s financial fate started today. In a nation that is one of the worst polluters in the world. And these clowns are creating more carbon emissions this month than many of the world’s smaller nations combined. In a year.
Current world-leader mindset: Do as I say, not as I do. If I’m not doing what I say you should be doing, there is a good reason for it. Dissension is not allowed. Debate is over.
Which begs these questions, and so many more: When was there EVER an open forum debate on global warming? When was a legitimate peer review and debate conducted on Dr. Mann’s faulty research and “fudged” raw data? When were FOIA requests to view and analyze Mann’s data or NASA’s data ever fulfilled? When did the IPCC permit opposing scientists to have a voice? When was left-wing politics not mixed into the so-called “science”?
Oh, it isn’t over… not by a long shot.
From Los Angeles Times: Denmark’s green credentials obscure some unpleasant facts:
By Henry Chu
December 6, 2009
Though lauded for adopting wind power, its high recycling rate and its progressive policies, Denmark generates the most waste per capita in the EU and most of its energy still comes from coal.
Reporting from Copenhagen – Something is rotting in the state of Denmark. Lots of things, actually, and it’s a bit of an embarrassment for this Scandinavian nation as it prepares to host a widely anticipated global environmental summit this week.
Denmark is proud of its image as one of the greenest countries in the world; it’s probably why it was chosen as the site of the 15th United Nations Conference on Climate Change. But beneath the gloss lurk some inconvenient truths, including the fact that, pound for pound, Denmark produces more trash per capita than any other country in the 27-member European Union.
The Danes tossed out 1,762 pounds of garbage per person in 2007, the latest year for which EU-wide statistics are available. That’s more than the Dutch (1,386 pounds), the Brits (1,258) and the French (1,190); a lot more than the Greeks (986); and double the Lithuanians (880).
It even surpasses the Americans (1,690 pounds), who are often held up as the boogeyman of heedless, needless consumption. By the numbers, Denmark is one of the most wasteful — in both senses of the term — societies in the world.
…The Danish may lead the world in producing wind turbines, but much of their power still comes from coal-fired plants, major emitters of greenhouse gases.
…Meat consumption has been linked to climate change because of widespread deforestation to create pastureland or to grow feed crops and because of the gases, such as methane, released into the atmosphere by belching, flatulent livestock. In an analysis of worldwide meat-eating trends spanning 40 years, the U.N.’s Food and Agriculture Organization concluded that Denmark topped the carnivore list.
In 2002, the last year of the study, the average Dane consumed a whopping 321 pounds of meat — nearly a pound a day. For Americans, the figure was 275 pounds.

Here in Copenhagen, the Amagerforbraending plant is one of the city’s two principal incineration centers. It receives huge mounds of detritus every day out of dumpsters serving more than half a million residents, garbage that either can’t be recycled or that residents didn’t bother to sort.
Monster ovens burn the stuff at temperatures in excess of 1,700 degrees; cleansing agents remove toxic gases and other chemicals before the smoke billows out of a 500-foot-tall smokestack.

More on the hypocrisy of the global warming alarmists/money grubbers in Copenhagen…
From Conn Carroll, Townhall, The Copenhagen Climate Comedy:
Imagine an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting where all the members showed up drunk and with extra cases of wine, beer, and booze to keep them happy. Now imagine that that same group of drunks was empowered to make trillions of dollars worth of economic decisions for everybody in the world. This absurd scenario swiftly summarizes the United Nations Climate Change Conference beginning today, and lasting through December 18, in Copenhagen.
Despite the fact that the entire conference is founded on the belief that human economic activity, especially flying and driving, is emitting levels of greenhouse gasses that will soon kill us all, plutocrats from around the world have marshaled over 1,200 limos and 140 private planes to travel to and around Copenhagen over the next two weeks. When they are not participating in the world’s oldest profession, conferees will be negotiating over a successor treaty to the 1997 Kyoto Protocol which obligated most developed nations to reduce their greenhouse emissions by 5 percent below 1990 baseline levels by 2012.
So how did those Kyoto emissions reduction pledges turnout? According to U.N. data, between 2000 and 2006, the 27 European signatories actually increased their emissions by 0.1%. Canada even saw a 21.3% emissions rise. Meanwhile, the U.S., who was not bound by the treaty since the U.S. Senate voted 95-0 not to subject our economy to costly regulations that China and India were specifically exempted from, actually reduced our emissions by 3% over the same time period.
One key reason Europe failed to meet their Kyoto obligations was the tremendous cost of reducing emissions, estimated at $67.75 billion to $170.84 billion through 2008. Because of the high costs of reducing emissions, Copenhagen is seen, especially by Europeans, as an opportunity to force the U.S. to join the other developed countries required to reduce emissions. The economic stakes are huge. Nick Main, global managing partner for climate change and sustainability at the consulting firm Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, tells the Los Angeles Times: “One of the reasons that this negotiation is difficult is it really does involve issues of competitive and comparative advantage between countries. This is really an economic debate of, ‘How do you pay the costs?’”
And the costs to our economy would be huge. A Heritage Foundation analysis of Waxman-Markey found that this energy tax would have serious implications throughout the economy. For a household of four, energy costs (electric, natural gas, gasoline expenses) would rise by $436 in 2012 and by $1,241 by 2035, averaging $829 over that period. Higher energy costs would increase the cost of many other products and services. Overall, Waxman-Markey would reduce gross domestic product by $393 billion annually and by a total of $9.4 trillion by 2035.
And for anyone over the age of 50, here is a reminder of what all the smart “climate scientists” wanted us to believe 30-plus years ago. For those under 50, here is one of the many reasons why there is so much cynicism over “global warming.” The scientists want it both ways, and neither side, then or now, have/had any empirical proof of warming or cooling caused by mankind. Peachy.
From Gary Sutton, Forbes.com: The Fiction Of Climate Science – Why the climatologists get it wrong:
Many of you are too young to remember, but in 1975 our government pushed “the coming ice age.”
Random House dutifully printed “THE WEATHER CONSPIRACY … coming of the New Ice Age.” This may be the only book ever written by 18 authors. All 18 lived just a short sled ride from Washington, D.C. Newsweek fell in line and did a cover issue warning us of global cooling on April 28, 1975. And The New York Times, Aug. 14, 1976, reported “many signs that Earth may be headed for another ice age.”
OK, you say, that’s media. But what did our rational scientists say?
In 1974, the National Science Board announced: “During the last 20 to 30 years, world temperature has fallen, irregularly at first but more sharply over the last decade. Judging from the record of the past interglacial ages, the present time of high temperatures should be drawing to an end…leading into the next ice age.”
You can’t blame these scientists for sucking up to the fed’s mantra du jour. Scientists live off grants. Remember how Galileo recanted his preaching about the earth revolving around the sun? He, of course, was about to be barbecued by his leaders. Today’s scientists merely lose their cash flow. Threats work.

Sunspots are caused by magnetic disturbances on the sun’s surface.
Sunspots on, the sun gets hotter, sunspots off, the sun gets cooler.
This occurs roughly on a 11 year cycle, according to what I have been able to surmise in reading media throughout the years.
The 11 year cycle appears to be fairly consistent.
When the sunspots reappear on the sun’s surface, the earth’s temperature should rise.
