Gatorade's Tiger brand sports drinks will be discontinued on December 26, the day after Christmas
In light of the ongoing scandals and negative press golf pro Tiger Woods has received since Thanksgiving weekend, and the number of mistresses he allegedly has had who are coming forward (I think it is now up to TEN, and one is a so-called porn star), Gatorade has decided to drop Woods’ branded line of sports drinks. Gatorade claims otherwise, that it is just a coincidence… or something… yeah, right.

Tiger Woods breaking news update includes the fact that Gatorade is discontinuing their special Tiger Woods branded line. According to TMZ, the decision by Gatorade to quit making Tiger Woods’ Gatorade line on December 26th has “absolutely no connection” to the golfer’s current predicament. According to TMZ, Gatorade says they made the decision months ago and their relationship with Tiger Woods will continue.
Do you think it’s a coincidence, or not? Many Memphians really like the Tiger Woods Gatorade lineup and will be disappointed to see it go. However, in light of the recent scandals that include rumors of unprotected sex, affairs with a porn star, and rumored drug overdoses – it makes sense that a company that makes beverages and sponsors youth sports events may not want to sponsor such a controversial individual.
The media has speculated over the Tiger Woods scandal, especially since the golfer was so reluctant to speak out about events that were unfolding. Tiger Woods even canceled his appearance at his Chevron golf tournament, issuing an apology to sponsors – but not fans.

As new reports of alleged extra-marital affairs continue to surface, sports-drink giant Gatorade announced Tuesday that it would be ending its professional relationship with Tiger Woods.
Gatorade says the decision to drop Woods was made “months ago” and has nothing to do with the recent public events involving the embattled golf star.
In an official statement released Tuesday, the company said: “We decided several months ago to discontinue Gatorade Tiger Focus along with some other products to make room for our planned series of innovative products in 2010. We hope to share more about our 2010 plans soon.”
“Gatorade Tiger Focus” was launched last spring and was the only product to contain theanine, which is said to reduce mental and physical stress. The partnership was unprecedented because Woods received royalties from sales of the beverage, rather than a contractual amount for an endorsement.

One of Tiger Woods’ many mistresses may have leaked intimate photos of the star golf player, with Playgirl magazine confirming that they’ve been offered the naked pics – but they’ve yet to make a decision about publishing them. Meanwhile, Gatorade has become the first corporate sponsor to dump Woods amidst the recent scandal.
Playgirl’s rep Daniel Nardicio confirmed to Life & Style magazine that the online magazine has received photos that appear to show Woods sans clothing.
“We’re currently trying to authenticate the photos before we make any decisions on purchasing the Tiger Woods pics and ascertaining the value,” Nardicio tells Life & Style.

When it doesn’t rain it pours, as the saying goes. Things seem to get from bad to worse at the Woods residence. The Tiger Woods saga continues to go on and some sports blogs listed on sports index http://www.dozensports.com say the count of women linked to the richest sports star is up to 8. So the last thing you need is a sick mother-in-law thrown into the bargain! Barbro Holmberg, the mother of Woods’ wife, Elin Nordegren, was taken to the same hospital that treated Woods after his strange late-night car crash. Thankfully she returned after 11 hours, but it makes me wonder how on earth Woods can live in the same house as his wife and mother-in-law with all these allegations? I bet he wished he could get out and shoot some golf balls rather than be hounded at home.
