You remember the classic horror book and film about Frankenstein’s monster… a little of this, a little of that, a criminal’s brain, all clumsily stitched together by the well-intentioned, but power-hungry “I’m like God” scientist Frankenstein. Eventually, since creating a man/monster killer from dead people parts wasn’t enough, a demented bride for him was also created from pieces of rotting cadavers. The romance didn’t end well, to say the least.

The travesty of ObamaCare (aka PelosiCare and ReidCare) is similar. The tattered pieces of this government-run health care bill have been been modified, deleted, added, whacked at, or twisted so many times by frantic Democrats in the Senate, I doubt any members of Congress, let alone the American people nor Obama himself, have a clue what pieced-together version/hybrid/monster will be voted on. The bride of Frankenstein and Frankenstein’s monster, all wrapped up in thousands of pages of incoherent and conflicting mandates, policies, procedures, and unconstitutional intrusions by the government.

Are the so-called “death panels” still in the bill? Has mammogram coverage for women been put back in after it was recently removed? Are we paying for Viagra? For abortions? Are Downs syndrome or cancer patients in or out? Will ObamaCare cover autism or cerebral palsy?

What’s going on with Medicare cuts this week… this hour… this minute? Or, is it now Medicare increases? What radical, new changes to the bill were implemented yesterday or today, or will be shoved in tomorrow or even next week, with the hope to get a few more congressional votes and NOT to actually improve health care for those who most need it? This is totally nuts.

Pres. Obama sternly promised in September that not one dime of taxpayers’ money would pay for illegal aliens’ health care with his plan (remember Joe Wilson?). So, the language in the plan that did indeed allow for free health care coverage for illegal aliens was hastily taken out… and then, when they thought no one was looking, the Democrats put it back in. So, how much coverage do illegal aliens now get with the latest version of ObamaCare? Has it been removed again?

Is the public option in or out? I can’t keep track. How long is the imprisonment for not buying Obama’s health care? How high are the fines? What is Joe Lieberman’s mood on ObamaCare today?

The out-of-pocket savings Americans were told they’d realize from government-run health care have long ago disappeared. Will this new version/hybrid cost Americans an extra $850, an extra $1,500, an extra $2,500 per year, per taxpayer, with less coverage than they currently have?

Crikey, who the heck even knows how much this freedom-stealing monster will cost or eventually look like?

Because, as I and many others have said all along, they don’t care. Health-care “reform” is no more about actually reforming anything than the “stimulus” scam was about stimulating the economy, or cap-and-tax is about Climate Change (formerly Global Warming, formerly Global Cooling, formerly “the weather”). It is a naked power-grab, the Grand Prize for years of socialist scheming and dreaming. Once they have that, they have it all– and they know it.

Like the EPA’s recent Declaration of Despotism, asserting regulatory control over the very air we breathe, it is about, as an Obama regime goon recently put it, “command and control.” Period, full stop, end of story. They know they have to pass something, anything, now; they can finish filling in the blanks over the course of the next couple of generations if necessary, until they have the kind of absolute power over formerly free individuals they desire.

According to one Democratic strategist, you gotta break a few eggs to make an omelet.

“In the House, the view of [California Rep. Henry] Waxman and [House Speaker Nancy] Pelosi is that we’ve waited two generations to get health care passed, and the 20 or 40 members of Congress who are going to lose their seats as a result are transitional players at best,” he said. “This is something the party has wanted since Franklin Roosevelt.” In this view, losses are just the price of doing something great and historic. (The strategist also noted that it’s easy for Waxman and Pelosi to say that, since they come from safely liberal districts.)

“At the White House, the picture is slightly different,” he continued. “Their view is, ‘We’re all in on this, totally committed, and we don’t have to run for re-election next year. There will never be a better time to do it than now.’”

“And in the Senate, they look at the most vulnerable Democrats — like [Christopher] Dodd and [Majority Leader Harry] Reid — and say those vulnerabilities will probably not change whether health care reform passes or fails. So in that view, if they pass reform, Democrats will lose the same number of seats they were going to lose before.”

The bill isn’t going to include a public option or the Medicare buy in but it will be “something” that Obama can sign, a majority of the public be damned. Yes, Democrats will pay a price at the polls next year and maybe in 2012 but it will be too late. Nothing like this ever gets repealed, it only grows.

Congress needs to destroy this nationalized monstrosity of a health bill NOW.

Not only does ObamaCare make health care into a ridiculous nightmare, far worse than what we currently have and which will necessitate growing government by a huge percentage, but it drops the ball on all its original promises. The original claims that it would resolve the quagmire of current health care, cover the poor, and save Americans money have long since been thrown under the bus. If Team Obama’s plan was to sneak socialism in with this bill, the “sneaking” has had its skirt ripped off. Democrats in Congress have stepped all over themselves and exposed their shameless lust for power and control in making this bill a political horror show.

Even liberals hate this bill.

Fitting quote from Bride of Frankenstein from the monster himself: “We belong dead!”

ObamaCare is an ill-conceived, pieced-together monster, which will ultimately bring about disaster for those it claimed it would help. Kill it now before it’s too late.

As the monster said in the film, it belongs dead.
