Good grief… Obama’s counterterrorism head, aka “terrorist czar” John Brennan, is now trying to cut a deal with radical Muslim terrorist bomber Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab.

What does this terrorist deal involve? Guaranteed immunity, a new identity, a sweet relocation package so that Abdulmutallab can move to Massachusetts or Illinois, hook up with his bloodthirsty al Qaeda buddies, and start planning a bigger, better jihad attack on Americans?

Who knows? But this jihadi monster has lawyered up to the gills, so you know the deal must be fabulous.

Team Obama’s glimmer of understanding about Islamic terrorism was just snuffed out. Is Obama still snokeling and eating shaved ice in Hawaii?

From Politico: Brennan: Deal ‘on the table’ for terror suspect:

The U.S. Government is offering the suspect charged with attempting to bomb an aircraft on Christmas Day, Omar Abdulmutallab, some kind of incentives to share what he knows about Al Qaeda, White House counterterrorism adviser John Brennan said Sunday.

Asked why Abdulmutallab should cooperate given his right, as criminal defendant, to remain silent, Brennan replied: “He doesn’t have to but he knows there are certain things that are on the table… if he wants to engage with us in a productive manner, there are ways he can do that.”

Asked if Abdulmutallab’s willingness to talk changed once he had an attorney, Brennan declined to answer. “I’m not going to address what he did before or after he talked with a lawyer,” the adviser said.

Brennan declined to say what criteria are used to decide whether a prisoner should be taken into criminal court or before a military commission. “There are no downsides or upsides in particular cases,” he said. “What we’re trying to do is make the right determination in particular cases.”

Just imagine how the al Qaeda terrorists in Yemen are reacting to this deal-cutting nonsense. They must be laughing themselves silly and high-fiving each other, or whatever else it is that Muslim terrorists do when they have discovered that all the good cards are in their blood-drenched hands.

The majority of Americans don’t agree with the soft approach our government is taking with Abdulmutallab and feel that waterboarding would be appropriate.

From Rasmussen Reports:

Fifty-eight percent (58%) of U.S. voters say waterboarding and other aggressive interrogation techniques should be used to gain information from the terrorist who attempted to bomb an airliner on Christmas Day.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that just 30% oppose the use of such techniques, and another 12% are not sure.

Seventy-one percent (71%) of all voters think the attempt by the Nigerian Muslim to blow up the airliner as it landed in Detroit should be investigated by military authorities as a terrorist act. Only 22% say it should be handled by civilian authorities as a criminal act, as is currently the case.

John Brennan has also lashed out at former vice president Dick Cheney for his remarks on Obama’s weakness on terrorism.

In a statement following the attempted Christmas Day bombing of a Detroit-bound U.S. airliner, Cheney, one of Obama’s harshest critics, said, “It is clear once again that President Obama is trying to pretend we are not at war.”

“He seems to think if he has a low-key response to an attempt to blow up an airliner and kill hundreds of people, we won’t be at war. He seems to think if he gives terrorists the rights of Americans, lets them lawyer up and reads them their Miranda rights, we won’t be at war,” Cheney said. “He seems to think if we bring the mastermind of Sept. 11 to New York, give him a lawyer and trial in civilian court, we won’t be at war.”

In response, Brennan said Obama has been “very, very strong” on terrorism, noting the President said the nation is at war with an international network of terrorists in his inaugural address a year ago.

Columnist Charles Krauthammer disagrees with the rhetoric from the White House, and believes American leaders are approaching terrorism and Guantánamo Bay in the wrong way. This video aired on FOX News last week, before Obama’s retraction today.

Let us hope and pray that Team Obama rethinks its dangerous plan to hand-deliver Gitmo terrorists to Yemen before following through on it, as posted today at CNN:

The United States still intends to send some Yemeni detainees at the Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, facility back to Yemen despite a terrorist threat there, President Barack Obama’s terrorism czar said Sunday.

John Brennan, the assistant to the president for homeland security and counter-terrorism, said on CNN’s “State of the Union” that the failed Christmas Day terror attack on a U.S. airliner doesn’t change the plan to close the Guantanamo facility.

On Saturday, Obama linked the airline bombing suspect to an al Qaeda affiliate based in Yemen.
