On Scott Brown’s Win… Are They Listening Now? New Strategy for Democrats: “Jump Ship, Obama Can’t Help You”

From coast to coast for nearly a year, thousands of Americans have protested at town hall rallies and tea parties. They have written to their congressional reps and melted the phones in Washington, DC. They have expressed concern and outrage about the unprecedented power-grabbing, reckless spending, and heinous dismantling of our Constitution that Pres. Obama and his administration have been thuggishly forcing on the country.
And much of Congress and Team Obama have smugly thumbed their noses at American voters, with Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and majority leader Harry Reid mocking and maligning these frustrated, angry Americans. Democrat members of Congress have refused to listen to their constituents. These pompous politicians have arrogantly ignored America to follow their own selfish agenda, rather than represent the desires of the majority of the American people who elected them.
Until now. Until the huge victory of Republican candidate Scott Brown in Massachusetts blew up in their faces like the ticking time bomb it was, and ALWAYS was.
Are you listening NOW?
Oops… should’ve listened to the people, should’ve defused the bomb, should’ve paid closer attention. You were all warned. Time to jump ship.
From Washington Post, Scott Brown wins Massachusetts Senate special election race:
State Sen. Scott Brown won a remarkable upset victory over state Attorney General Martha Coakley (D) tonight in a Massachusetts Senate special election, a victory likely to spawn broad-ranging political and policy consequences heading into the midterm elections.
“Tonight the independent voice of Massachusetts has spoken,” Brown said to raucuous cheers at his victory rally.
[...]
“I have no interest in sugar coating what happened in Massachusetts,” said Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee Chairman Bob Menendez (N.J.). “There is a lot of anxiety in the country right now. Americans are understandably impatient.”
Congressional strategists had warned in the closing days of the Massachusetts Senate race that a Coakley defeat had the potential to trigger a series of retirements within the Democratic ranks as members flee a political wave that could wash out dozens in the House and high single digits on the Senate side.
“My message to my clients? Jump ship now,” said one Democratic operative who advises a number of targeted Members of Congress. “Obama can’t help you.”Democratic leaders spent much of Tuesday reaching out to vulnerable Members to convince them that the circumstances that led to Coakley’s demise were unique to her and the state and not indicative of the general political environment in which they will have to run in November.
From New York Times, A Year Later, Voters Send a Different Message:
It is not just questions of policy: for Mr. Obama and the Democrats, already worried about the coming midterm elections, the results could hardly have been more distressing. States do not come more Democratic than Massachusetts, the only one that voted for George McGovern over Richard Nixon in 1972, a fact that older residents still recount with fresh pride. By challenging the legacy of Edward M. Kennedy, the holder of the contested seat for 46 years and a liberal icon, the Republican victory could only be dispiriting to the left.
Most ominously, independent voters — who embraced Mr. Obama’s presidential campaign and are an increasingly critical constituency — seemed to have fled to Mr. Brown in Massachusetts, as they did to Republicans in races for governor in Virginia and New Jersey last November. It is hard not to view that as a repudiation of the way Mr. Obama and Democratic Congressional leaders have run things.
Oh, and “happy anniversary,” Mr. President…

Vicki, Great Post !
VF has it right. I adore strong constitutional Americans.
We The People will have OUR SAY in 2010.
Obama needs to regroup and dismiss the Marxist policies he has attempted to put in place determined to wreck this economy with. However he never will.
Obama is getting an education whether he likes it or not.
Americans will never allow his ilk to take this country to the point of no return.
