Just when you start to forget infidel-hating, blood-lusting Osama Bin Laden, he pops up out of nowhere… this time, in a brief audio tape, Bin Laden has claimed credit for the foiled Christmas Day terrorist attempt to bomb Flight 253 on its way to Detroit from Amsterdam with nearly 300 people on board.

And this is why, no matter who’s in the Oval Office, all jihadi terrorists should be regarded and handled as the zealous, ruthless killing machines they are, animals who revel in the idea of killing scores or hundreds of innocent people who don’t share their religious faith. They should not be molly-coddled or treated like garden-variety bad guys… but Pres. Obama, Martha Coakley, and other clueless liberals would likely disagree.

From FOX News: Osama Bin Laden Takes Credit for the Christmas Day Bomber Plot:

[O]sama bin Laden claimed responsibility for the failed attempt to bomb a Detroit-bound airliner on Christmas day, releasing a new audio message Sunday threatening more attacks on the United States.

A senior U.S. intelligence official in Washington called the latest message “curious,” commenting that the tape is uncharacteristically brief it and shows efforts by bin Laden to attach himself to Palestine’s cause.

The official also said there is no evidence that bin Laden had any involvement on the Christmas Day attack — or even knew about it beforehand — but that perhaps the leader hopes to attach himself with a “successful” operation by Al Qaeda. The message suggests the Al Qaeda leader wants to appear in direct command of the terrorist group’s many affiliates around the world at a time when some analysts have suggested he is mostly a figurehead.

In the minute-long recording carried by Al-Jazeera Arabic news channel, bin Laden addressed President Obama saying the Christmas attack was meant to send a message similar to that of the Sept. 11 attacks.

“The message delivered to you through the plane of the heroic warrior Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab was a confirmation of the previous messages sent by the heroes of the Sept. 11,” he said. “America will never dream of security unless we will have it in reality in Palestine,” he added.

“God willing, our raids on you will continue as long as your support for the Israelis continues.”

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said the tape has yet to be authenticated, but wouldn’t offer an opinion on whether bin Laden had any role in the Christmas Day bombing.

A U.S. State Department spokesman said al-Qaida’s core leadership offers such groups strategic guidance but depends on them to carry it out.

“He’s trying to continue to appear relevant” by talking up the attempted attack by an affiliate, the spokesman, P.J. Crowley, said.

The one-minute message was explicit in its threat of new attacks. Like the airline plot, bin Laden said they would come in response to America’s support for Israel.

This proves how utterly incompetent and ill-prepared this administration is when it comes to fighting terrorism. Obama’s AG Eric Holder is presumably the one who demanded that Abulmutallab be mirandized (who else would have had the authority to make that kind of decision), which allowed him to lawyer up and clam up. Who knows how much information we could have gotten about what Abulmutallab knew if the High Value Interrogation Group had been dispatched to interrogate this guy. Even the WaPo sees that the mirandizing of Abulmutallab was “myopic, irresponsible and potentially dangerous.”
