Pathological Liars? More IPCC Data Fraud Exposed… Amazon Rainforest Not Affected by Global Warming Claims

Amazon rainforest data on global warming is false... more IPCC lies uncovered
Back in my college days, I worked in a department store with a young woman who was a pathological liar. The IPCC reminds me of her a lot as of late, with the release of this new Times Online revelation by Jonathan Leake about bogus data used about the Amazon rainforest, which comes on the heels of the lies told and suppressed data about the Himalayan glaciers:
A startling report by the United Nations climate watchdog that global warming might wipe out 40% of the Amazon rainforest was based on an unsubstantiated claim by green campaigners who had little scientific expertise.
The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) said in its 2007 benchmark report that even a slight change in rainfall could see swathes of the rainforest rapidly replaced by savanna grassland.
The source for its claim was a report from WWF, an environmental pressure group, which was authored by two green activists. They had based their “research” on a study published in Nature, the science journal, which did not assess rainfall but in fact looked at the impact on the forest of human activity such as logging and burning. This weekend WWF said it was launching an internal inquiry into the study.

The latest controversy originates in a report called A Global Review of Forest Fires, which WWF published in 2000. It was commissioned from Andrew Rowell, a freelance journalist and green campaigner who has worked for Greenpeace, Friends of the Earth and anti-smoking organisations. The second author was Peter Moore, a campaigner and policy analyst with WWF.
In their report they suggested that “up to 40% of Brazilian rainforest was extremely sensitive to small reductions in the amount of rainfall” but made clear that this was because drier forests were more likely to catch fire.
The IPCC report picked up this reference but expanded it to cover the whole Amazon. It also suggested that a slight reduction in rainfall would kill many trees directly, not just by contributing to more fires.

Simon Lewis, a Royal Society research fellow at Leeds University who specialises in tropical forest ecology, described the section of Rowell and Moore’s report predicting the potential destruction of large swathes of rainforest as “a mess”.
“The Nature paper is about the interactions of logging damage, fire and periodic droughts, all extremely important in understanding the vulnerability of Amazon forest to drought, but is not related to the vulnerability of these forests to reductions in rainfall,” he said.
“In my opinion the Rowell and Moore report should not have been cited; it contains no primary research data.”

Scientists such as Lewis are demanding that the IPCC ban the use of reports from pressure groups. They fear that environmental campaign groups are bound to cherry-pick the scientific literature that confirms their beliefs and ignore the rest.
It was exactly this process that lay behind the bogus claim that the Himalayan glaciers were likely to melt by 2035 — a suggestion that got into another WWF report and was then used by the IPCC.
Makes you wonder if ANY scientific data about climate change/global warming hasn’t been cooked or cherry-picked, doesn’t it?
We’re all waiting for Al Gore’s response to this new exposé of IPCC data fraud, as well as to the bogus data on the Siberian tree rings, and the Himalayan glaciers, and ClimateGate’s manipulated hockey stick data, and the booming polar bear population… is Gore hiding out where it’s warm?

Global warming is a money scam – the proof is in the pudding. Record cold and snow for the past few years around the world and more manipulated data (the galciers, the Amazon, the tree rings, bogus hockey stick graph and all the IPCC lies are just the beginning – i know there’s more to come) and libs still keep screaming that we’re responsible for this fantasy of AGW. What a joke. Dr. Mann & Dr Jones are just the tip of the iceberg of the coverup.
Only liberals are stupid enough to keep accepting this AGW bunk as “real.” cant tax someone for global cooling, right?

Tone down the wacky rage and the attacks against me for revealing facts on ClimateGate and daring to question the “church of global warming,” and maybe your comments will be posted in the future. Maybe. No promises. At this point, I’m just not in a charitable mood to you… You’re rubbed me the wrong way and posting here is not a given right. You’re an angry Al Gore sheep and are ignoring the mounting evidence of fraud, deception, and data suppression on global warming, and well, that says it all. The Amazon rainforest deception is just one more log on the bonfire. Quizzical that you’re so desperate to post here. Did you wear out your welcome at the statist Daily Kos? Telling me twice to read a scientific report that is now being scrutinized by scientists for its blatant cherry-picking and flaws is amusing. I’m not a journalist nor a scientist – I’m just a blogger who is up to speed on the AGW fraud and who is recapping what climate experts, scientists, and other journalists have discovered in this escalating, gigantic global warming hoax/cover-up. Direct your complaints with the quoted material with the Times Online, the source of the information. There’s even a link provided in the post.

Well isn’t this fun! A response, I feel honoured indeed, and have made an image of your note to me just for the record.
So let’s look at this – Climategate emails reveal that a small group of scientists, and possibly one one (prior to active IPCC service) discussed excluding some dubious references from their upcoming review. Nonetheless, those papers were included in the IPCC review, despite this apparent early attempt at censorship. Can you see possibly why your position is at least open to criticism? IPCC is bound to review the full gamut of evidence under extreme transparency while bloggers are able to causally exclude dissenting voices. Who is doing the cherry-picking here?
My comment is far from hate-driven, it is more despair-driven at the gullibility of those who propagate hysteria without really checking the evidence out. You may not be a scientist, but the report is actually legible and comprehensible in the main to anyone with a decent education, and freely available on the web. I am saying that the vast majority of judgments and conclusions in the 3000+ page report are carefully balanced and considered and well referenced – you can judge this if you read the report. We could discuss productively why the IPCC author selection process which attempts full developed-developing country and gender balance and uses scientists who have a day job, unpaid, for a demanding four years or so, might make it prone to generally minor errors such as those now being uncovered.
As for the “Church of Global Warming” – show me a religion that states it’s central belief to only the 90% confidence level (as IPCC does in its conclusion of the likelihood that AGW is real) before slurring the IPCC with the accusation of slavish faith. Would you be willing to think about what I have just written?
Bottom line – the search for the truth may be uncomfortable, and just as IPCC is facing some uncomfortable reassessments of how it should improve its processes, so should those serious voices in the blogosphere that criticiise it attempt to adhere to similar principles of transparency.

Global warming is being reduced to a cult, with the IPCC is scrambling like mad right now to justify its fudged data and fraudulent conclusions. That “small group of scientists” you mentioned include the head honchos of the organization, Dr. Pachauri, and Professor Phil Jones, head of the University of East Anglia, who have been discovered to have indulged in cherry-picking, suppressing, and misrepresenting its data, using unscientific reports, and slurring, discrediting, and attacking those who questioned their methodologies or disagreed with their findings, including, among many, Dr. Tim Bell.
The errors are not minor, but intentional and part of the deception. The AGW support chooses to ignore the second law of thermodynamics – right there, the AGW hoax is exposed. I have no knowledge of balanced debate on the issues of global warming; the Copenhagen summit was about money and increasing government controls, not truth, not debate – those who oppose the AGW data or the government power-grabs were excluded. Gender balance of scientists, as you mentioned, is irrelevant and has absolutely nothing to do with the perpetuation of the hoax. Your assertion that IPCC concludes that it has a 90 percent confidence level of the likelihood that AGW is real, means… what exactly? Tell a lie often enough, make taxation and punitive fines a reward for progressive politicians and world leaders, the lies are perpetuated – reward with grant monies, stock options, awards, prestigious positions, publications, and fame to those who are in lockstep with the garbage science, those who support and don’t offer argument against the findings, stack the deck by not permitting debate, by silencing those who are on the other side of theory, support sloppy junk science, and eventually (if not discovered, as IPCC has been exposed) you would convince many of the lies. IPCC support by scientists and meteorologists has been dropping over the past year, and those who are in association with the organization are punished if they don’t support AGW. Those who were afraid to speak up in the past are doing so now.
Man-made global warming is a myth, a scam – we cannot influence to any significant degree the Earth’s global temperature, any more than we can influence the tides or control volcanoes or stop hurricanes or destroy the ozone layer. Climate is complicated and much bigger than the puny actions of humans. In the 1950s, we were warned of imminent global cooling; likewise in the 1970s. Climate change, whether its warming or cooling, is a natural process that has been going on since Earth began. It is out of our hands and we have no control over it. Taxation, cap and trade mandates, decimation of economies will not ever change that, but many stand to benefit handsomely from the redistribution of wealth and the crippling of the free market. It is a long-term goal of progressives for domination.
The data of Dr. Michael Mann was manipulated (he also just received a half-million dollar grant from our government while under investigation); the IPCC assertion that global warming is causing the melting away of the Himalayan glaciers was debunked this past week – the rate of “melting” was fabricated and many glaciers have been determined to be growing; the Siberian tree ring data was bogus and cherry-picked; the Amazon rainforest conclusions were based not on data gathered for climate change, but that used for drought and logging, and were subsequently taken out of context (and no, I’ve not read the entire 3,000-page report, which would be like reading “Gone with the Wind” five or six times, which I HAVE read, but only twice); the lies about the polar bear population, claimed by AGW scientists to be on the brink of extinction because of global warming, has been proven to instead be at a 50-year high.
The primary “proofs” of AGW are being systematically exposed and debunked for the unethical methods used to arrive at the desired conclusion, the fallacy of assumptions, or for preventing third-party review and duplication of methodology. Much of the so-called “evidence” out there is in the parroting of the lies, most particularly that of Dr. Mann’s now-infamous and manipulated hockey stick graph data. Many scientific papers used his conclusions as their starting point, so the lie grows and becomes more deeply integrated in the papers – the authors were unable to duplicate his findings, so decided to just “go with it”. The original raw data Mann used was conveniently destroyed. There is NO legitimate, peer-reviewed scientific data that can be duplicated by a third party to support any global warming theory. Quite the contrary – global cooling is now being recognized, but is ignored by those who have no stake in it or are unwilling to see the hoax for what it is and has always been.
Which publications, as you stated, did IPCC approve that did indeed criticize AGW methodologies or conclusions? If the IPCC has permitted an equal or somewhat equal number of pro AGW and con AGW papers that have been peer-reviewed to be released with their blessing, I was not aware of that. That would make for a different argument.
I have blogged on this many times, citing the writings and discoveries of Dr. Tim Bell, Steven Milloy, William E. Williams, John Coleman, Christopher C. Horner, Phelim McAleer, Bill Steffen, and many others who dispute the selective data that supports AGW, while ignoring or mocking any that does not support it. Refer to the headlines these past few months of the discovery of the unscrupulous manipulations, the reputations that have been ruined – even IPCC has admitted to lying about global warming over the past two years on a number of occasions. Greenpeace has admitted that it exaggerated the information it has released, wanting to convince people of the hoax with emotional rhetoric. The EPA has also been discovered to have suppressed the release of information that disproves AGW. Director of National Hurricane Center, Chris Landsea, resigned and said he lacked confidence in climate change science.
I want us to be responsible and have a clean planet – to have clean air, clean water, to properly dispose of garbage and harmful wastes, to be good stewards of Earth’s resources. What I do not want is hysteria from ill-informed warmists, based on emotion and not on scientific facts, to forcibly shackle progress and to punish people and corporations for being on Earth. Cap and trade mandates are intended to bilk more money out of people, while accomplishing next to nothing in the grand scheme of things. Outlawing incandescent lightbulbs, attacking people who use airplanes for travel, taxing Americans to death for using any kind of energy, destroying the coal industry, calling carbon dioxide a toxin when it is actually a natural by-product of breathing creatures… these are but a few examples of the fallacies and power-grabs.
IPCC heads are delusional in that by finally admitting to some AGW lies and manipulations that have been uncovered, they expect us to accept as fact the rest of their assertions. Sorry, it doesn’t work that way. Integrity has been compromised, and now everything is under justifiable suspicion. Believing any liar who has been caught lying is foolish and naive. Their failure to comply with multiple FOIA requests is criminal and arrogant.
You don’t have to agree, but it’s amusing that you’re in such a passionate state of denial. With each passing week, new revelations of IPCC’s ruthless hand in ramming global warming through, using deception and junk science, are being unearthed. Can’t wait to see what is uncovered NEXT week.

I recognize that the accuracy of the core work and overwhelming majority of the stuff compiled in the IPCC reports is inconvenient and annoying to those who wish to minimize the climate problem (and ironically the same can be said for those who think it is a lot worse than the IPCC says) but it is important to have as fair a conversation about it as possible.
