At the always thought-provoking Flopping Aces, reader Smogasbord wrote this intriguing comment:

I’m a little confused. Every other thing or person Obama tells us to stay away from flourishes. For example, Joe The Plumber, Rush Limbaugh, and Fox News (they now have 13 of the top 15 cable news shows). Las Vegas should be doubling or tripling its revenue since King Obama forbade us to go there. I have never gambled ANYWHERE, but if I lived close enough to Las Vegas I would be tempted to gamble there for the first time and send King Obama a picture of me doing it.

If I were the mayor I would put out a news release for people tired of being told by King Obama what to do and what not to do. I would encourage the casinos to set aside an area for people who are against Obama telling them what to do and see how many people show up.

ROFL at the last sentence.

You could add Glenn Beck, Republicans, tea party protests, Scott Brown, truck sales, and Sarah Palin to that list of “Obama Dissings” that have done well after the dissing.

Anyway, like I said… intriguing.

CBS Evening News could put this novel idea to the test, have ratings-killer anchor Katie Couric start LEGITIMATELY analyzing Pres. Obama’s agenda and accomplishments (or for starters — baby steps, you know — have Couric just slow down on her drooling over The One and start reporting OBJECTIVELY on what is actually going on in BHO’s administration — put her liberal media bias on a hiatus for oh, say a month).

After a few weeks of this, Robert Gibbs or Rahm Emanuel or Barack himself would predictably attack and diss and denigrate right back, grousing about the “unfair” criticism from CBS, decry the network as “non-news,” and voila! Viewership at CBS that isn’t in the commode.

Worth a try, CBS. Just get Katie to drop the unflattering “Marie Antoinette shtick” with the designer clothes and jewels, do some real reporting on the president, and you may be able to turn this news ratings failure around.
