Did Obama Curse Super Bowl’s Colts? — Update: MVP Drew Brees with Son Baylen (video)
Posted By Vicki McClure Davidson on February 8, 2010

Pres. Barack Obama predicted an Indianapolis Colts win at yesterday’s Super Bowl. The Colts lost.
He went to Boston in January to rally voters for Democrat Martha Coakley for the Massachusetts Senate seat. Coakley lost.
He campaigned vigorously in Virginia last fall to help Democrat R. Creigh Deeds win the governor seat. Deeds lost.
The president also campaigned through New Jersey to help Democrat Gov. Jon Corzine in his bid for re-election last fall. Not once, not twice, but three times Obama trekked over to the Garden State for stumping. Corzine lost.
Coincidence… or not? Examining his track record, did the president unwittingly give the kiss of death to the Colts with his prediction during Katie Couric’s pre-game interview? I’m not big on “curses” or superstitions, but the emerging pattern of defeat is striking.
We’ll just have to see how Democrat Sen. Harry Reid fares in the upcoming election, after POTUS stumps for him in Nevada later this month.
From My Way News: Obama predicts Colts victory in Super Bowl:
WASHINGTON (AP) – President Barack Obama says the Indianapolis Colts “have to be favored” in the Super Bowl, even though he has a “soft spot” for the New Orleans Saints.
Obama’s Super Bowl prediction was based on his opinion that the Colts have “perhaps the best quarterback in history.”
“Peyton Manning is unbelievable,” the president told CBS’ Katie Couric during a live pre-game interview.
Still, Obama says he has a soft spot for New Orleans, “mainly because of what the city has gone through over these last several years” since Hurricane Katrina struck in 2005.
Obama says he may be biased against the Colts, since they beat his hometown Chicago Bears in the Super Bowl in 2007.
To quote New Orleans Saints’ MVP Drew Brees on the Saints’ win, “Mardi Gras may never end.”
And Brees and all of Louisiana may also be silently thanking the president for the extra nudge to victory.

If I remember correctly Hines Ward, MVP also held his child after winning the Super Bowl and he was not being discussed by every magazine and every radio station.
What makes Drew so different?
No idea… I wasn’t blogging back then. If I had been, I’d likely have showcased Ward, too. I love when fathers are openly loving to their children.
Love it!
