Obama in Las Vegas… Will POTUS Actually Be Snubbed by Mayor When He Arrives Tonight in the City of Lights?

Pres. Barack Obama will be arriving soon in Las Vegas. Will he be snubbed by the Las Vegas mayor?
Reportedly, all that Mayor Oscar Goodman wants is an apology for the president’s thoughtless, dismissing remarks he made last month against Las Vegas and tourists spending their money in the gambling/entertainment mecca.
I say don’t accept any apology… Obama has proven time and again that he’ll say anything to get what he wants.
A fake apology, with measured chiding and quietly snarky blaming mixed in, is simple child’s play to our accomplished Liar in Chief. The Cambridge, Massachusetts police department knows full well what I’m referring to.
Should get interesting in the next few hours… go get ‘em, Mayor!
From KTNV News: Las Vegas Mayor Goodman rejects Obama invitation:
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) – Mayor Oscar Goodman has refused an invitation to meet with President Obama when he arrives in town on Thursday. Mayor Goodman called President Obama a slow learner after he told Americans not to blow money on a weekend in Las Vegas if they were saving to put their kids through college.
“I’ve got other things to do quite frankly for my constituents here in Las Vegas who rely on me to do the right thing as a mayor,” explained Mayor Goodman.
Mayor Goodman has more important things like attend budget meetings during a major shortfall than meet with President Barack Obama when he visits Las Vegas Friday, even though he’s invited by the White House.
“Were you surprised to get that invitation in light of comments you’ve made before and your opinion on him and what he says,” asked Action News reporter Heather Klein.
“A little bit in the sense I would think they would know that I would say I’m not coming,” said Mayor Goodman.
They say time heals all wounds but not this time. Mayor Goodman not backing down after the president used Las Vegas the example of where not to go if you’re saving money.
This is strike two for the mayor.
“We are hurting, we have people in foreclosures, we have people having a hard time feeding their families and we can’t stand to have a flippant statement made,” said Mayor Goodman.
“I haven’t heard an apology, I haven’t heard a response, all I do is get invitations,” Goodman went on to say.
Invitations Mayor Oscar Goodman respectfully or depending on your point of view not so respectfully declines. The mayor says his presence isn’t necessary its more protocol than anything else. However, he says all it will take is a simple phone call and he will be there ready to move on.

Tensions between President Obama and Nevada elected officials over the president’s anti-Sin City remarks escalated Thursday when Las Vegas’s mayor refused an invitation to meet with Obama when he arrives in town, FoxNews.com has confirmed.
“I’ve got other things to do quite frankly for my constituents here in Las Vegas who rely on me to do the right thing as a mayor,” Mayor Oscar Goodman told KTNV Action News.
Goodman was invited by the White House to meet the president on the tarmac when he arrives Thursday night and to the town hall event scheduled for Friday, Goodman spokesman Jace Radke told FoxNews.com, adding that the mayor would consider the invitation if Obama promised to apologize for his remarks.
The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
UPDATE… tour operators in Las Vegas aren’t pleased about the president’s visit, as they stand to lose hundreds of thousands of dollars during this economic recession.

Tour operations will be grounded in response to President Obama’s visit to Las Vegas and operators are not very happy. Secret Service has restricted local flights, including air tours to the Grand Canyon, during the president’s stop. The 30-mile radius “no fly” zone restrictions begin just before 6 this evening, and will be lifted after Obama leaves Las Vegas on Friday afternoon. The “Review-Journal” says tour operators will lose up to 750-thousand dollars in revenue during the president’s trip, due to the air restrictions. Once Obama arrives in Las Vegas tonight, he will head to a Democratic Party fundraiser at the home of Palms hotel owner George Maloof. On Friday, the president heads to Henderson for a town hall meeting with voters at Green Valley High School, followed by an address to local business leaders at the Aria hotel inside the CityCenter complex on the Strip.
