Graffiti’s on the Wall: Consumer Confidence Drops to Lowest Since April 2009, Bill Clinton Sees Political Atmosphere Similarities for Dems between 2010 & 1994

Graffiti's on the wall, statists...
How long before Team Obama and leftists try to spin this unexpected, massive drop in US consumer confidence as *cough* George W. Bush’s fault?
Not a question of IF, but WHEN… The “blame game” is not working too well for the party of “hopenchange.”
From Bloomberg: U.S. Economy: Consumer Confidence Falls to Lowest Since April:
Feb. 23 (Bloomberg) — Confidence among U.S. consumers fell in February to the lowest level in 10 months, a sign that concern about job prospects may hold back the spending needed to sustain the recovery.
The Conference Board’s confidence index slumped to 46, below the lowest forecast in a Bloomberg News survey of economists, from 56.5 in January, a report from the New York- based private research group showed today. A separate report showed home prices rose for a seventh month.
Stocks fell and Treasuries gained after the confidence report also showed attitudes about current conditions fell to the lowest level in 27 years and the outlook for wages dimmed. The survey reinforces expectations Federal Reserve Chairman Ben S. Bernanke will repeat the central bank’s pledge to keep interest rates low for “an extended period” in testimony to Congress tomorrow.
The writing is on the wall, and the graffiti there for the survival of the Democrat party’s super-majority congressional hold is none-too-good.
Even former president Bill Clinton sees similarities in the here and now and that of 1994, but of course, he’s got to sound optimistic and not spell out the “history repeats itself” doom and gloom that appears imminent for the Dems. That’s probably why Billy Jeff was trotted out to meet with the Obama-despised “nasty, evil, non-news” FOX.
Major Garrett at FOX News interviewed the former president yesterday — an exclusive, they say — here’s the video:
FOX News: Uh-Oh… Clinton Detects Similarities Between 2010 and 1994
From Swamp Politics:
Former President Bill Clinton went for health-care reform his first year in office, failed, and lost the House to the Republicans in the midterm elections the next year.
President Barack Obama has gone for health-care reform his first year, failed so far — though the White House rolled out a new plan today and vowed to push it with or without Republican help — and polls show incumbents are in for a rough midterm ride.
But Clinton suggests that things won’t be as bad for Obama as they were for him during his party’s first midterm contest — and that Obama has an advantage with the early political storm warning in Massachusetts that cost the party its super-majority in the Senate, offering him time to prepare for the fight ahead.
“He’s a persuasive man and I hope he helps,” Clinton said of Obama, in an interview today with FOX News Channel’s Major Garrett. “I think the main thing is they’ve got a lot of advanced notice, and I think…. if they really focus and catch a break or two, I don’t think it’ll be as bad as it was in ’94.”
There’s serious skepticism out there, Mr. Clinton and Democrats… such as this Twitter tweet from Merylee that asks, “Ok….. u buy this?”

Bubba says that dems can still win… It all points to a democratic disaster come November.
We can hope.
From Patterico’s Pontifications, Handicapping the House:
It’s still a long way until November but ex-NRCC chairman Tom Davis says there’s an even chance the GOP could retake the House:
“Former Virginia congressman Tom Davis, who twice chaired the National Republican Congressional Committee, says the odds are “at least 50-50″ that the GOP regains control of the U.S. House in November’s elections. And he notes the House has never flipped control from one party to the other unless the Senate did, too.
***
He sees in particular a “Republican tsunami” in the South.“This is the third straight congressional election that’s been nationalized,” Davis says, a test not of individual candidates for the House and Senate but of broad voter judgments about the political parties and national leaders. “They say all politics is local. It’s not.”
However, Davis noted that changes in jobs or the war could alter his opinion.
