Obama’s Cool $2.6 Million House in Chicago & Slum Landlord Tony Rezko’s Help in Knocking Down the Price

The following information about then-Senator Obama’s multi-million-dollar Chicago home purchase was originally posted way back in February 2008. The house is now protected by Secret Service and I doubt you can park your car in front of it anymore… the photo above was taken in 2007.
I’ve been holding onto this intriguing little nugget for months, waiting for something in the news with which to dovetail it, to no avail, so here it is… just because:

The Obama-Rezko land deal (which we’ll refer to here at Right Pundits as “Mansiongate”) is somewhat complicated but Right Pundits is here to help. Here is our summary of what is reported to have happened.
Tony Rezko is a “slum” landlord in Chicago who has been a huge financial supporter of Obama since his time in the Illinois Legislature. Rezko has recently been criminally indicted.
Anyhow, in 2005 some rich folks had a mansion for sale in Chicago which Obama wanted to buy. The Mansion had a large yard. Obama bought the Mansion for $300K below asking price on the same day that Rezko’s wife (who supposedly makes $37K per year) bought the garden (”lot”) in the the mansion’s yard for the “full asking price” of $625,000. Of course, the garden can only be accessed through the front gate of the mansion as Obama’s lot is fully fenced.
Thus, the asking price for the mansion (including the garden) was around $2.6 MUSD. But Barack Hussein Obama, with the generous help of Rezko’s wife purchased the mansion (without the garden, which he mows and which lies inside his fence) for a mere $1.65 MUSD, or nearly $1 MUSD less than the asking price.
There is also well founded speculation that Mrs. Rezko, who earns $37K/year, actually got the $125K down payment to buy the garden from an Iraqi business man named Mr. Auchi. who loaned a Rezko related entity $3 MUSD 3 months prior to the garden being acquired by Mrs. Rezko.
One thing you can’t accuse Obama of being is stupid. Through some back door help from Rezko he basically bought a $2.6 MUSD piece of property for $1.6 MUSD.
