Who in Congress Is Reading This Blog This Late at Night, and Why Are They Reading the Obama Fishing Ban Post?
Posted By Vicki McClure Davidson on March 9, 2010

The time stamp on the visitor list for the Frugal Café blog (see the screen capture above) is for Arizona, so it is well after 9 pm in Washington, DC. But as you can see, someone at house.gov is RIGHT NOW on this site. Just on a whim, I popped in to peruse the traffic for the day and came across THIS entry.
Who in the world is reading my Obama fishing ban post this late at night? I’d have thought all government workers and officials in DC would have gone home by now.
Hmm, quite mystifying. Is Obama’s “trial balloon” on the potential ban on sports fishing and federal power-grab of all US water regulation being scrutinized by a government official, perhaps? Am I being watched and targeted by Nancy Pelosi or Barney Frank? Or, could it be a House of Representatives government drone, someone who is distraught and disgusted over the anti-American, unconstitutional crapolla that is going on in Washington and is looking for information that isn’t tainted by socialist/progressive political spin?
Should I be flattered, concerned, or amused?
For now, I choose to be amused…

UPDATE, March 10, 2010: Another government visit to the fishing ban post on the blog that I stumbled upon this morning — this one from senate.gov in Louisiana:

A few minutes later… Oops, another blog visit from house.gov in Washington, DC (see screen capture below). The post being read RIGHT NOW is the one on Nancy Pelosi’s bizarre press release on ObamaCare. No way to tell if it is the same person from house.gov from last night. Maybe I AM being targeted by Pelosi??? Who knows how many in Congress are reading other conservative blogs as I’m typing? Is no one actually working in DC — they’re just reading blogs?

A few more minutes later… Whoa, another government visit, but this time from the US Department of the Treasury. The post being read RIGHT NOW is one I wrote back last August on The View interview that conservative journalist Michelle Malkin gave while promoting her new book, Culture of Corruption. This is getting a mighty bit creepy, gang… plus, it sure looks like too many people in DC, being paid by the American people, have way too much free times on their hands.
I’d bet if other bloggers checked their visitors’ log, they’d discover similar results with government visits.

One last one — for now — a few minutes later…
Fishing ban post once again, this time being read by someone in the New Mexico state government offices. Our precious taxpayer dollars at work, boys and girls.

Nearly lunchtime now in Arizona… which government agencies are reading this blog now, pray tell? Here’s a two-fer… Pennsylvania state government and the USDA. Both are reading the fishing ban post. And below that is someone at senate.gov in Louisiana (Sen. Mary Landrieu’s stomping grounds, I believe, unless there’s a different site for US Senate vs. State Senate) — same post on the fishing ban.

A few minutes later… someone working in the US House of Representatives is on this blog… and it’s not lunchtime in DC — must be nice to be in the government and be paid to surf the ‘net, unlike so many unemployed Americans. The post being read RIGHT NOW at house.gov is my entry today on the Glenn Beck/Rep. Eric Massa interview:

I see a few more dot-gov entries in the visitors’ log, but I’m stopping because it’s starting to annoy me and this could go on indefinitely. I think we all get the picture now.

Well, since comments are being moderated, profanity is not an option and my blood pressure is now pole vaulting, a cogent expression of my increasingly inarticulate rage over this and so many other rabid violations of our American way…. well, I guess I don’t have a comment after all. :::sigh:::
Restraint is an attribute.
I know how you feel.
Have hubby pat you on the back.
YOU’VE HIT THE BIG TIME BABY !!!!
LOL… you’re one of my most cherished buddies, you know that?
Back atcha’
you haven’t been visited yet by whitehouse.gov? lol
Nope, not yet, VF – so I’m still a little fish. No worries, there are much bigger conservative fish being watched by The One, no doubt. I’m A-OK with not being on Rahm’s radar, dontcha know.
