I thought the discussion on Pres. Obama’s health care was “over”? Couldn’t Nancy Pelosi threaten enough Democrat Congress critters with bodily harm and/or career homicide to sway them from their principles or the wishes of their constituents back home?

My bad.

Guess POTUS will need to exert some of that infamous “Chicago Squeeze” to get what he wants out of Congress on ObamaCare, the voting public be damned… and THEN fly out on his transcontinental trip (which looks suspiciously more like a fun-packed vacation than a legitimate presidential trip).

President Obama is delaying his trip to Indonesia, Guam and Australia next week, an administration official said Friday, so the White House can focus on passing health care legislation in the House.

The president’s international trip had grown into a source of frustration among many House Democrats, who complained privately to the White House that they were being forced to take a quick vote on health care so Mr. Obama and his family could leave on the overseas trip next week.

In fact, the president is no longer taking the first lady, Michelle Obama, and their two daughters on the trip, an administration official said. The president agreed to delay his departure from March 18 to March 21, an administration official said, shortening the trip for official business only in an effort to show flexibility in the final push on health care legislation and to give Mr. Obama more time to win over skeptical House members. The three-day delay effectively sets a new timetable for the House vote on the measure.

Don’t you just HATE it when your daddy’s day job gets in the way of and messes up YOUR taxpayer-funded overseas vacation on another continent? I know I do…

The No-mentum is getting to the White House. News is breaking out all over that President Obama will be delaying his trip to Asia from Thursday to March 21. It’s also being reported that the First Lady and his daughters, who had planned to accompany him, will no longer be traveling with him.

Astute observation on Wednesday night from comedian and late-night host Jimmy Fallon:

Yesterday, the White House said that it wants to pass the health care bill by March 18, or March 19. But at the very, very latest, March 21. Unless they have to wait until March 23, in which case they’ll definitely want to pass it by April 6. Or April 8. Definitely by April 10. The 6th through the 10th, or possibly April 12 is a possibility. April 12, 2025, will definitely be the date. If not then, 2027. And if that doesn’t come to fruition then, it’s going to cut it off at 2040. So there you go. So, we’ll have the health care bill by 2040, hopefully.

And what’s the bloody deal with BHO going to AUSTRALIA with the First Family anyway? Didn’t they just return from a pricey 2-week Christmas stay in a mansion in Hawaii? And Europe… we can’t forget Europe, when he snubbed Pres. Sarkozy by declining to have dinner with he and his wife Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, so that the Obama family could have their own Sarkozy-free French restaurant dinner, with the press snapping photos. Burn! Fausta’s Blog recapped all the French security that Pres. Sarkozy’s taxpayers’ paid for, including the public closing of the Louvre for the First Family to tour the museum uninterrupted, the traffic jams, and a food taster. Yes, a food taster. All this gratis from the French, and classy Obama dissed his host. Priceless.

There was that expensive Broadway date night, the Asian trip in November where he bowed to everyone in sight, and the family vacation at Martha’s Vineyard, too. Oh, and don’t forget the family trip to the Grand Canyon.

Actually this was his second apology speech to the Muslim World.
He also apologized for America two months ago in Turkey.
Obama doesn’t seem to think that liberating 50,000,000 Muslims from two of the world’s most brutal regimes counted for much.

What in the world is going on with the government Down Under that necessitates this expensive POTUS trip right now? I’ve looked around on the ‘net, and can’t find anything of relevance or urgency. Maybe I’m just not looking hard enough.

Soda Head posted this question on its site a few weeks ago, before it was announced that Michelle and the girls wouldn’t be going on the Aussie trip: Obama And Family To Visit Australia In Late March: Is This Unnecessary? From the looks of it, a vast majority of those responding to the query are not happy campers with our rock star president.

Well, it appears that his presidency is a learning experience for us, him and his family.
Hes making sure his family has a vacation every few months on us.. the American people.
If this doesn’t just make your teeth ache and your muscles spasm then you aren’t paying attention.
Of course we must remember that as he cautions us to not squander money on trips to Vegas, BTW, cutting Vegas revenues.. He feels he can well afford, on our dollar, to see the world.
I think the Great Barrier Reef is a good place to teach his kids about aqua culture, its a learning trip. Grrrrrr….

It must be nice for Obama’s family to travel the world just so they can go sight seeing under the pretense that this traveling is necessary! The American people are suffering and his family takes vacation jaunts! Nice Obama! U R a true jerk!

He’s TRYING. Its isnt like hes sitting on his ass doing nothing. When he got the job as president, the economy was already in a hole, he can’t fix everything in a day. Damn, hes only human.

Not when We The People are footing the bill!!!!! Just exactly where do you think the money comes from for all of his little sight seeing trips. It’s not a weekend in Disney with the wife and kids here. It is millions of dollars spent for hundreds of his, and his wife’s entourage and security people. The US ecomony is on the brink of collapse and he’s spending taxpayer money taking the wife & kids on a world tour. That should bother you, you’re paying for it just like the rest of us. That is unless you are one of those who doesn’t pay taxes just lives off the government toll. The only vacation I’ve had in the past 5 years is a year in a tent in Iraq.
