More city idiocy with the banning of Bible studies in private homes.
I’m ashamed and angry to admit that this un-American religious persecution is happening in my own state of Arizona, and not in a far-away, oppressive communist country.
Shame on you, Gilbert lawmakers.
From WorldNetDaily, Banished! City forbids Bible studies in homes:
‘This letter will serve as a 10-day written notice to quit such use’
By Bob Unruh | March 13, 2010
The city of Gilbert, Ariz., has ordered a group of seven adults to stop gathering for Bible studies in a private home because such meetings are forbidden by the city’s zoning codes.
The issue was brought to a head when city officials wrote a letter to a pastor and his wife informing them they had 10 days to quit having the meetings in their private home.
The ban, however, prompted a response from the Alliance Defense Fund, which filed an appeal with the city as the first step in its campaign to overturn a provision it describes as illegal.
“The interpretation and enforcement of the town’s code is clearly unconstitutional, ” said Daniel Blomberg, a member of the litigation team for ADF. “It bans 200,000 Gilbert residents from meeting in their private homes for organized religious purposes – an activity encouraged in the Bible, practiced for thousands of years, and protected by the First Amendment.”
Let me whip out my copy of the US Constitution…
First Amendment:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
No ambiguity there… it’s unconstitutional, pure and simple. If Congress is forbidden to do this, the city of Gilbert most definitely is forbidden as well in its ludicrous “zoning codes” to dictate religious expression or assembly in a private home.
This is America. Looks like these moronic Gilbert officials had a memory lapse on that.
I’ll keep you posted on new developments…

Vicki, keep us posted.
Glenn Beck is coming to your neighborhood in April, don’t know the exact date.
You should apprise him of this information. He could use it during his presentation.
OK….
I’m sorry, when was Hitler resurrected ?
I missed that one.
Is this Syria ?
Saudi Arabia ?
Christians, Jews, AND Muslims have the right in this country to pursue their faith anywhere they please, as long as they do not infringe on anyone’s rights.
This attack on our Constitution has got to stop.
The 2010 elections are a baby step towards that, but we can never let our guard down after this debacle we have before us.
I hope to see a lot of folks chime in on this one.
The CSNY song, “Teach Your Children Well”, comes into play here.
AFVET –
Your acronym for Crosby, Still, Nash, and Young threw me for a moment. I thought it was a typo for CSI:NY with the theme song from The Who “Baba O’Reilly”, often referred to as “Teenage Wasteland,” which isn’t the title, but fits. You’re right, of course, but just wanted to share with you my mistake which vaguely-sorta fits as well with this. Or maybe The Who’s “Won’t Be Fooled Again” would be more appropriate when it comes to voting in November, you think?
Yes, I agree with you on “Teach Your Children Well” being a great song that fits this scenario to a T.
My mom and dad asked me how I can stand to listen to that “noise”.
Ah how the generations change us.
I love the big band music.
I love to hear orchestras.
I grew up in the 60′s with the folk, and the rock.
ZZ Top works well when you’re stressed out. (Sharp Dressed Man). crank it up.
Fleetwood Mac’s album “Rumors” will mend your soul.
Rare Earth performing “Get Ready” is a keeper, especially the long version.
CCR, down and dirty rock and roll makes you feel good.
Dance, dance, dance.
My fellow Patriot, your efforts are exceptional.
Rock and Roll Vicki !
The Who, “Won’t be Fooled Again”, works well in the present environment.
Gird your loins, be very aware to what they are attempting to do to this country.
Obama is laughing at us.
Pelosi and Reid are laughing at us.
They think we can’t stop them. They couldn’t care less. Once this bill is passed they have attained an immense amount of power well beyond the next election cycle.
We will not only stop them now, we will ensure they cannot raise the ugly head of socialism to infect the school system more than it has been today.
The socialistic policies that are being slammed down America’s gullet is going to gut them in the next election.

Someone thought this was my Website. That is how much we agree.
But, of course, if it was a weekly MNF shindig, that would be okay. Or for a watching or reading of An Inconvenient Truth, then it would be okay, too.

Excellent read, I just passed this onto a colleague who was doing a little research on that. And he actually bought me lunch because I found it for him smile So let me rephrase that: Thanks for lunch!
I’m so sick and tired of Christians being attacked yet the Obama media covers up when Muslims kill people. This has go t to stop. REligious freedom is in the constitution and liberals are getting to be too tyrannical.
