Outstanding speeches from Rep. Paul Ryan and House Minority Leader Rep. John Boehner during yesterday’s House health care debate.

And, as many of you know, Boehner’s request that votes be cast, one at a time, so that Americans would know who voted “yes” and “no” on the House’s health care disaster was ultimately denied by the Democrats.
Cowards.
But who actually thought they would ever agree? Transparency during the Age of Obama is a bloody travesty.
Well done, Mr. Ryan and Mr. Boehner. You have listened to America, and the battle is not yet over.

Got back late last night from the DC rally on Saturday. I wish I were writing under happier circumstances considering the way things turned out yesterday, but let me say that the rally and the work by all who came and then continued to visit rep’s and demonstrate further was remarkable. So many people: young, old, male, female. I met numerous wonderful persons.
First, numbers. Remember that people had between 24-48 hours to show up. Maybe you already posted this, but it was announced from the stage that the San Diego tea party group(s) sent 800 people! Amazing given the time and distance. The first crowd estimate from the stage was 15-20,000. I looked at the standing room only on the hill and thought that seemed noticeably small. Sure enough, there was an announcement an hour or so later that the front area of the hill holds 40,000. It was full, with some overflow on the sides and back. So 40,000 plus.
The speakers were wonderful, and although no politician would go farther, I believe once, than Marxist in characterizing the current Democrat agenda, a few of the other speakers did call them communist, a thought I heard expressed numerous times in the crowd. All speakers were heard and received warmly; this includes at least two Hispanic and one African-American speakers.
I’ll just end briefly by saying that Jon Voight stayed after his speech and mingled deep into the crowd. I passed by him 15 minutes after his address, near the end of the rally, and overheard a great moment: as I approached, the context of conversation somehow was family, and I heard Mr. Voight say “I consider you all family” or words very close to this. Those around him were noticeably touched.
Let’s keep strong and keep steadfast. We have not yet begun to fight!
