Backlash Thunder Rising: America Won’t Tolerate Democrat Politicians Who Betrayed Their Constituents by Voting for ObamaCare (video)

Posted By on March 23, 2010

Thunder clouds are building... backlash thunder from American voters against Democrat politicians who voted for government-run health care is growing

The American revolution against the tyrannical ObamaCare is just beginning… the backlash is rising up, and soon it will be roaring like thunder.

I’ve contributed my own bit of thunder. I wrote last week that I had called my congressman’s office in Washington, DC, Democrat Rep. Harry Mitchell (District 5 in Arizona), to thank him for voting “no” on the Slaughter bill, to commend him for listening to his district’s voters. Naive me… I honestly thought Mitchell’s vote against the unconstitutional DemonPass would translate to his vote against ObamaCare on Sunday, to honor the majority of District 5′s wishes. I was so wrong — duped again.

So today, I’ve called both his local office here in AZ and in DC to voice, politely but strongly, rescind last week’s thanks and to let them know that Rep. Mitchell betrayed Arizona voters, did not listen to the majority who resoundly do not want ObamaCare, and that I would no longer be voting for him — and that I would be supporting his opposition. You need to do the same if your congressman or woman voted for ObamaCare. One call, once a week… how much good will it do? One voice, multiplied by thousands of other voices, will send a strong message and it ADDS TO THE THUNDER.

And then, in November, vote accordingly.

Arizona District 5: Harry Mitchell says he read the bill…

Rep. Harry Mitchell’s opponent in Arizona: David Schweikert for Congress

Arizona’s budget was balanced for a scant few days… it is now in the red hundreds of millions of dollars because of ObamaCare. The AZ legislatures had been able, after weeks of painfully working on our budget and making tough choices, to prune back on monies for entitlements. The Democrats’ House health care bill forces them to put them back in.

Que será, será.

No hysteria. No hand-wringing. No sniffling from those of us who oppose ObamaCare and all the other government takeovers that are just around the proverbial bend. We must be strong and have spines of steel. We must keep our eyes on the ball and stay engaged.

More thunder elsewhere in America…

From Gateway Pundit: Indiana Dem Senatorial Candidate Down 18 Points After Voting For Obamacare:

Rep. Brad Ellsworth (D-IN) finds himself down 18 points in the Indiana Senatorial race to replace Senator Bayh after supporting Obamacare on Sunday. 63% of Hoosiers oppose Obamacare. 35% approve of the legislation.

Also at Gateway Pundit: Rep. Baron Hill on His “Yes” Vote for Obamacare: “I Feel Like I Walked the Plank” (You Did):

What was your bribe, Representative?
Was it worth it?

Rep. Baron Hill walked the plank for Obamacare yesterday.
Bloomberg reported:

Obama is unlikely to find either Democratic or Republican willingness to work on issues of mutual concern.

“The president just has a limited ability to ask Democrats to cast any more tough votes going forward,” said Vin Weber, a Republican strategist and former congressman from Minnesota.

Said Representative Baron Hill, an Indiana Democrat, “I feel like I am walking the plank.”

“In the short term, it’s going to cost me,” Hill said. “It remains to be seen whether or not people will see the benefits that are in the bill 10 years out.”

Say your good-byes, Representative Hill.

Hill will be a good one to keep tabs on after the November election. Hopefully, the bribe was good enough to offset the time he’ll need to find a new job in this horrid Obama economy.

Democrats’ Celebration of ObamaCare & Dismantling of Constitution

Good post at Legal Insurrection about New York’s November election and former Governor George Pataki: Run George, Run!

From Rasmussen Reports:

Two of the three top Republican hopefuls for the U.S. Senate in Indiana continue to hold double-digit leads over Democratic Congressman Brad Ellsworth. Ellsworth supported President Obama’s health care plan in a state where opposition to the legislation is higher than it is nationally.

A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of likely voters in the state finds former Congressman John Hostettler with a 50% to 32% lead over Ellsworth, a current House member who voted with most other Democrats on Sunday to pass the health care plan. The survey was taken last Wednesday and Thursday nights. Fifteen percent (15%) remain undecided in that match-up.

Ex-Senator Dan Coats now posts a 49% to 34% lead over Ellsworth, with 12% undecided.

From American Thinker, Voter Backlash Beyond ObamaCare:

Voter anger is building on issues beyond ObamaCare. The large group of people already angry over runaway spending and ObamaCare are now being joined by those angry at the EPA for moving forward with controls on greenhouse gases without congressional action — and without considering the economic impact on the economy. Like the Tea Party movement, this group cuts across geographical and political lines.

A bipartisan mix of eighteen governors signed a letter to congressional leaders last week. This move is supported by Washington Democrats such as Senator Jay Rockefeller and the Democrat congressmen from the eastern coal mining region. Rockefeller is calling for a two-year suspension of EPA greenhouse gas regulations. The co-sponsors in the House include Nick Rahall and Alan B. Mollohan, also of West Virginia, and Rick Boucher of Virginia. Several Republican congressmen and senators are in favor of similar legislation.

Mining, oil, and manufacturing are not the only industries that are raising the alarm about an EPA in pursuit of its own agenda (and to hell with the economic consequences). I keep RFD-TV on as background noise most mornings. Almost every news show on the cable channel for rural America features Agribusiness interests concerned that the EPA’s efforts in this area will have a deep impact on their costs. Dairy and pork producers are particularly concerned, as they are already suffering from major drops in demand in 2008 and 2009.

From Republican Leader John Boehner, The Hangover: Fallout From Health Care Vote Already Plaguing House Dems:

House Democrats are already beginning to bear the fallout from President Obama and Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) reckless crusade to force a massive government takeover of health care through Congress without the support of the American people. As House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH) stated yesterday on NBC’s Meet the Press, “Never in the history of our country have we made such a big, momentous decision on a purely party line vote.” Now we know why. Instead of taking a victory lap, Democrats are already going into “damage control” mode for all their arm-twisting, sweetheart deals, and go-it-alone governing, and it’s already being compared to the trillion-dollar ‘stimulus.’ House Democrats who supported this job-killing bill must now ask themselves whether it was worth it to side with party leaders and liberal special interest groups at the expense of their taxpaying constituents. This is not what the American people wanted out of health care reform, and they will continue to say so loudly and clearly. That’s why Republicans will fight to repeal this massive government takeover of health care and start over with solutions that focus first on lowering costs.

From Rasmussen Reports, Election 2010: California Senate – California Senate: Boxer 43%, Campbell 41%:

Incumbent Democrat Barbara Boxer is now in a virtual dead heat with former Congressman Tom Campbell in California’s U.S. Senate race.

The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of likely voters in the state finds Boxer leading Campbell 43% to 41%. Six percent (6%) prefer some other candidate, and 10% are undecided.

A month ago, Boxer posted a 45% to 41% lead over Campbell.

I’ll be posting this link often: Fire the 219. Rep. Bart Stupak of Michigan heads the list. Rep. John Boccieri of Ohio is in the Number 2 slot.
