This clip of Glenn Beck and his telling of a story about James Cameron hating him for a joke he told about Cameron three years ago is hilarious.
Love the Smurf comment and the 3-D glasses — Glenn, thanks for the snarky laughs, the teasing and tweaking of Cameron’s millionaire-elitist, Oscar-losing nose — brilliant and cheeky. We need to laugh this week.
Good stuff, Glenn.
To Mr. Cameron: Get over yourself. Your ex-wife won the Oscar, you didn’t, so stop lashing out at others like a whiny baby.
James Cameron Attacks Beck – Beck Makes Fun of Cameron

As we suspected, Fox New’s Glenn Beck didn’t let the opportunity pass to respond to James Cameron, who was all steamed up yesterday about Beck. If you recall from our last post, when Beck was a talk-show host at CNN in 2007, he said that Cameron was “officially running for anti-Christ.” On his show today, Beck said he was, ahem, joking. He was only worked up at the time because he didn’t like Celine Dion.
At any rate, Beck was deliriously happy that Cameron had gotten so lathered up about his remarks, saying “the best part is that this guy has carried this joke around with him for three long years. The guy’s making a billion dollars on a Smurf-murdering movie and he’s stewing about a joke nobody heard on a network nobody watched!”
It wasn’t enough for Beck to nail Cameron and CNN in one fell swoop. He also gleefully responded to Cameron’s overheated rhetoric about global warming deniers, noting that the filmmaker had said that he wanted to “shoot it out with those boneheads.” Claiming that 79% of all Americans don’t believe that greenhouse gases are the most important factor in the planet’s warming, Beck — pretending to weep — cried out, “Why must you kill all of them?”

Brewing feud of the day: Director James Cameron vs. Fox News’ Glenn Beck.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, when asked earlier this week at Avatar home-video release junket what he thought about Beck, Cameron said: “Glenn Beck is a (bleep!) I’ve met him. He called me the anti-Christ – and not about Avatar.” Cameron was apparently referring to Beck’s reaction to his 2007 documentary, The Lost Tomb of Jesus which casts doubt on the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
After blasting Beck, Cameron seemed to reconsider: “I think, you know what, he may or may not be an a–hole, but he certainly is dangerous, and I’d love to have a dialogue with him.”

Asked if he felt the right wing’s attacks against him were continuing, Cameron replied: “They’re not attacks. They’re just people ranting away, lost in their little bubbles of reality, steeped in their own hatred, their own fear and hatred. That’s where it all comes from. Let’s just call it out. Let’s have a public discussion. That’s what movies are supposed to do, you know, you can have a mindless entertainment film that doesn’t affect anybody. I wasn’t interested in that.”
“People ranting away”… like, oh say, liberal James Cameron being totally lost in HIS “own little bubble of reality,” ranting away, “steeped in his own hatred,” in the above-cited news paragraph?
Heh, heh.

UPDATE, August 24, 2010: After much braying and false bravado and diva changing of debate environment, prima donna Cameron finally agreed and was scheduled to debate Big Government guru Andrew Breitbart, Irish filmmaker Ann McElhinney, and Climate Depot’s Marc Morano to a climate change/save the polar bears debate at the Aspen American Renewable Energy Day (AREDAY) summit. Long story short: Cameron woosed out at the last minute. Of course. James Cameron is a liberal millionaire with a big ol’ chip on his shoulder, a wounded ego (just ask anyone about his Oscar loss on his anti-military film) as are many of the liberals in Hollywood. Beck made fun of him – and he deserved to be for wanting to “shoot it out” with anyone who doesn’t swallow the junk science of the IPCC, Al Gore, and all the other global warming sheep. You’re obviously a liberal troll (and WHY do liberals always bring up that Obama is half-black???) with a liberal public school education, so I’ll go easy on you, sport, since you managed to spell my name correctly, but not much else.
