Despite MSM’s Lies, Black Conservatives Embrace Reagan’s Principles at Tea Parties: “Don’t Debate That Racism Foolishness, We’re Talking About America’s Freedom” (video)
Posted By Vicki McClure Davidson on April 17, 2010
The Democrat party and left-wing media haven’t slowed down on viciously painting the tea party protests, which are against increased taxes and government interference, into “race-oriented hate assemblies.” These reprehensible attacks against average Americans are so chock-full of desperate, vile lies from the left — as is the damning exposure of unhinged left-wingers carrying race-hate signs and dressing up like KKK bigots to crash tea parties, hoping to fool the thinking public into believing their loony charades are conservative. It makes one wonder… if the Obama-adoring media weren’t screaming “raaaaacists” and concocting iniquitous lies 24/7, how many more minorities would be seen cheering and waving American flags at tea party rallies?
It sure doesn’t help when media hacks like Charles M. Blow, a black liberal opinion writer at NYT, denigrates the whites in attendance at a Dallas tea party and disdainfully describes the blacks there as part of a “political minstrel show devised for the entertainment of those on the rim of obliviousness and for those engaged in the subterfuge of intolerance” and Vietnamese and Hispanic speakers as being part of a “bizarre spoof of a 1980s Benetton ad.”
MINSTREL SHOW??? SPOOF???
Not too many minorities attending tea parties, Mr. Blow? Your narrow-minded article ridiculing those minorities who were there at the “farce,” as you called it, and thousands of similar mocking articles written by other left-wing bigots (of all races), must shoulder much of the blame. This next statement of yours is truly despicable and patronizing: I found the imagery surreal and a bit sad: the minorities trying desperately to prove that they were “one of the good ones”….
At least Mr. Blow showed a semblance of civility and didn’t flat-out call them one of many well-known, vile racial slurs while they were participating in his proclaimed “minstrel show.” Trust in that all minorities are welcomed at all tea parties — all AMERICANS, regardless of their skin color or lineage — and these folks have chosen, for whatever reason, to not attend — is there a larger reason, beyond the left-wing media’s hateful, 24/7 smear job of tea parties and the repeated lies of rampant racism, that could be preventing minorities from attending? I honestly don’t think so.
Even Blow’s article’s title, “A Mighty Pale Tea Party,” smacks of premeditated, imagined, trumped-up racism. FYI – Most conservatives don’t do a “color count” at tea parties, Charles, but a “patriot count.”
An excellent, straight-forward rebuttal against Charles Blow’s article is posted by Clifton B at Another Black Conservative, Just how dark are leftwing protesters? … here’s just a snippet, please read it in its entirety on the ABC site:
…This got me thinking, the left have been making much noise about the racial make up of the Tea Parties, but little attention is ever paid to the racial make up of their grassroots political movements. So I did a little test for myself. I first Googled images of the anti war protesters, then Code Pink protesters, and finally the much talked about Coffee Party. No surprise all of the images from these leftwing grassroots affairs are predominately white. Just to back up what I was seeing on Google, I went to Flickr and Photobucket to search for the same things. Yep, mostly white folks in those pictures too.
Maybe Mr. Blow should start worrying about the minstrel show on his side of the political fence.
UPDATE... In her April 19 lead story, Michelle Malkin smacks Blow silly for his hypocrisy… you go, girl!
Blow used his column from his hallowed perch at the Times to malign minority conservatives as minstrel tokens and puppets for the movement. How…original. He singled out my friend Alfonzo “Zo” Rachel — the young, delightfully talented conservative comedian — and essentially accused every non-white activist who opposes endless bailouts, massive new entitlements, and Obama’s culture of corruption of being incapable of thinking for himself/herself…

You want “farce?” I’ve pointed out many times over the years that the loudest preachers of skin-deep diversity work for media institutions that fail to practice their own social engineering sermons.
There are many others who are in disagreement with the NYT’s sleazy hit piece. Jim Hoft at Gateway Pundit provides this brief video of black conservative Charles Early from the Charleston, South Carolina Tax Day Tea Party event — the video was posted by John Infidelesto from InfidelsAreCool.com… Charleston: Black Conservative Cheered at Tax Day Tea Party:
Media’s race-baiting fixation at one tea party struck out… NBC’s Kelly O’Donnell is a left-wing nitwit, and this man’s response to her patronizing “uncomfortable African-American” question is perfect. He replied, “These are my people. Americans.”
In this next video, Bill Randall is the candidate for the 13th Congressional District for North Carolina and spoke at the April 15th Tax Day Tea Party at the capital in Raleigh. Randall hopes to unseat Brad Miller in November’s pivotal election. Riveting, passionate, pro-American speech… simply outstanding.

Bob McCarty interviewed black conservative Lloyd Marcus at Missouri’s St. Charles Tea Party. McCarty provided this commentary on YouTube with the video interview:
Lloyd Marcus makes it a point to tell audiences that he is not an African-American; instead, he says, “I’m an American.” And that’s exactly what he did when he took the stage to open the Tea Party Express III rally Monday afternoon in St. Charles, Mo.
After entertaining the crowd of more than 500 conservatives gathered at Frontier Park along the Missouri River 20 minutes west of downtown St. Louis, Marcus spoke with me about his most-recent publishing effort, “Confessions of a Black Conservative.” It was our first face-to-face meeting after a year of correspondence which led to more than a dozen posts written about him or by him.
Describing his book as one that presents conservatism in common-sense terms, Marcus said, “I think (conservatism has) been so intellectualized and so many people — especially black people — they don’t know what conservatism is. They feel conservatism is rich, racist white people.
“I know that conservatism is best for all folks, so I simply tell my story of why I know conservatism is best for everyone.”
Not a product of country club conservatism, Marcus grew up in the projects of Baltimore where he recalls that people living there received free food, free housing and free health care, but had no self-esteem.
“That’s where I really learned that you can’t just simply give people stuff,” he explained. “Self-esteem really comes from personal achievement.” He added that liberal Democrats are wrong when they tell black Americans they need lower standards, affirmative action, etc.
Having become quite the media-savvy conservative as a result of his involvement with the Tea Party Express during the past two years, Marcus recently gave an interview to CNN. During the interview, he explained, he was asked how conservatives can attract more blacks to tea parties.
“I say, ‘Keep telling the truth,’ because I don’t think we need a message for blacks or a message for Hispanics. We need an American message, and I think that, if we keep telling the truth, people will gravitate to the truth.
“That’s what Ronald Reagan did, and that’s why he got Democrats, Republicans and Independents to vote for him,” Marcus concluded, “He spoke the truth and spoke of values everybody could relate to.”

To be filed in the “is this an alternate universe?” file… the Democrats’ unclassy queens Barbara Boxer and Nancy Pelosi are desperate to rally and inspire the statist troops at the Dems’ annual hoopla at the Los Angeles Convention Center — and, gosh almighty, she wants these elitist, Marxist-loving, entitlement-hungry Democrats to be just as excited as TEA PARTIERS. Nothing like SanFranNan being her undeviating, botoxed, hypocritical self on all her previous smears that tea party protesters are dangerous Nazis, Astro-turf, and un-American. Maybe she was having a 2006 flashback. And has Boxer insulted any military people, conservatives, or blacks lately?
JammieWearingFool asks the questions I would ask Sen. “Don’t Call Me Ma’am” Boxer… ‘I Need You to be Excited, as Excited as the Tea Party People Are’:
So when her supporters become as “excited as the tea party people are” should we expect a negative avalanche of stories telling us how white they are? How racist they are? How Klan-ish they are? How their very existence promotes “hate” and threatens the very fabric of our nation? Will Barack Obama laugh at them and tell them they should be thankful for paying more taxes?

Excellent compilation of videos and information exposing the left’s pathetic efforts to derail the Tea Party. AWD lives in Dallas and the Dallas Tea Party has released a response to Charles Blow’s liberal hack hit piece on the LoneStar Tea Party on the 15th that saw 25 Tea Party groups come together with over 18,000 attendees. Keep up the good work!

Thank you for this information, AWD – I’m glad to hear that the NYT hit piece written by Mr. Blow won’t “go quietly into the good night.” I appreciate what your group is doing.
God bless America!
