More ignorant comments from Mr. Harvard on AZ illegal immigration law... a baseless, false ice cream scenario that disses Arizona police officers
Here is the latest friggin’ lie from our president — about Hispanics, going for ice cream, and rampant police harassment — flying like a rabid bat from Hades from Barack Obama’s mouth concerning the Arizona law on illegal immigration.
Did Mr. Harvard even READ the law?

Now, suddenly, if you don’t have your papers, and you took your kid out to get ice cream, you’re going to get harassed — that’s something that could potentially happen… That’s not the right way to go.
A lie, actually, unless you steal the ice cream or commit some other crime while doing so, and are here illegally, in which case, you have every reason to expect the federal government Obama heads to “harass” you as well.
Papers??? What a damned liar.
Where does it say that anywhere in the new Arizona law? The One is using deliberately selected Gestapo-esque language, meant to fool (HA!) the nation on the actual content of the law, meant to scare and/or anger all legal Latino citizens. The AZ law mimics the 70-year-old federal law on citizenship and illegal immigration. He’s maligning the Phoenix police on a bogus hypothetical tale… correction, maligning ALL police officers in Arizona… on the insulting, groundless assumption they will happily target and harass all law-abiding American Hispanics going out for family ice cream cones with their children — the emotional kickers mixed into this lie are kids and ice cream.
What a jackass — this Alinsky/Marxist-style lie sounds like something a hateful, lying race-baiter like Rev. Al Sharpton would make up in his sleep. But it’s the president of the United States of America insulting an entire state and its police force — just when you think the Democrat party can’t sink into the pool of fecal matter any deeper, we get this.
It’s the Cambridge, Massachusetts police force nightmare — times a thousand. Obama merely called them “stupid,” whereas he’s strongly insinuating that he believes that Arizona cops are… what exactly? Racists? Rogues? Zealots? Nazis?
And as for ice cream… make mine Baskin-Robbins’ mint chocolate chip, Mr. President.

On his radio show this morning, conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh read aloud this essay from the always-excellent Byron York, which is a rebuttal to a piece written by former Bush speechwriter Michael Gerson — this is just a portion of it.

04/28/10 8:23 AM EDTIn the Washington Post, columnist and former Bush speechwriter Michael Gerson pronounces the new Arizona immigration law “understandable — and dreadful.” Gerson says states do not have the authority “to take control of American immigration policy — an authority that Arizona has seized in order to abuse.” The effect of the new law, he argues, will be bad for everybody:
It makes it harder for illegal immigrants to live without scrutiny — but it also makes it harder for some American citizens to live without suspicion and humiliation. Americans are not accustomed to the command “Your papers, please,” however politely delivered. The distinctly American response to such a request would be “Go to hell,” and then “See you in court.”
Which leads to the question: What America is Gerson living in? No, we are not confronted by actors with heavy German accents demanding our papers. We are instead confronted routinely by people of all stripes asking to see our driver’s license. When we board an airplane, we are asked to produce a government-issued photo ID, usually a driver’s license. When we make some credit- or debit-card purchases in department stores, we are asked to produce a driver’s license. When we enter many office buildings, both private and government, security guards often ask us to produce a driver’s license. When we go to doctors’ offices and hospitals, we are asked to produce a driver’s license. When we check into hotels, we are asked to produce a driver’s license. When we purchase some over-the-counter drugs, we are asked to produce a driver’s license. If we go to a bar or nightclub, anyone who looks at all young is asked to produce a driver’s license. And needless to say, if we have any encounter with police or other authorities, we are asked to produce a driver’s license.
Some situations involve an even higher level of scrutiny. When we get a new job, we are asked to provide not a driver’s license but a passport or birth certificate to prove citizenship. In other situations, too: When I renewed my District of Columbia driver’s license last year, I had to produce a passport to prove citizenship, even though it was a valid, unexpired license I was renewing. And in many places, buying a gun — a constitutionally-protected right — involves enormous scrutiny.
Has Michael Gerson never experienced any of those situations? And by the way, has he read the Arizona law? Does he know that it specifically states that in any encounter with police, when a person produces a valid Arizona driver’s license (or, for non-drivers, other forms of ID listed in the law), that person is immediately presumed to be in the United States legally? Given all the situations listed above, can anyone argue that being asked to produce a driver’s license, if one is in some sort of encounter with police in which police are acting lawfully (that is also specified by the new law) is overly burdensome? Being asked to produce identification is a burden that falls on everyone.

All the discussion above relates to people who are American citizens. In addition to the situations requiring a driver’s license, some people might not know that since the 1940s, federal law has required non-citizens who are in the United States permanently to carry on their person, at all times, the official documents proving that they are here legally — green card, work visa, etc. That has been the law for 70 years, and the new Arizona law does not change it.

Now they’re jumping all over this Arizona governor, a Republican. Get ready for her to get the Sarah Palin treatment, not too long from now. A female Republican, they will be talking about all the things wrong with her appearance and talking about all the things wrong with her brain. They’ll make jokes, somebody in the American Thinker wrote, “Yeah, they’ll probably be parodying her on Saturday Night Live that she said she could see Mexico from the front porch of the governor’s mansion in Arizona,” which, if it happens, would not surprise me. But apparently people have looked at the Arizona law, and it is rock solid, it is a damn good law. It anticipates all of these challenges. It was put together pretty well.
San Francisco says that they are going to boycott Arizona, and I’m sure the people of Arizona are happy as hell about that. In fact, if I were the people in Arizona, I’d capture the illegals and send them to San Francisco. Sanctuary city, hey, you know, like ‘em so much, here. Glad to send ‘em your way. And, by the way, you don’t want to come here to see Arizona, fine and dandy with us. Do you believe — and I totally do — the leader of this country, Barack Obama, is leading a charge by the Democrat Party against a state and a personal jihad against a governor.
He is supposed to be president of all the people. But, boy, you go against the regime, and the regime will come after you. It’s going to be interesting to see.

Obama is a demagogue period. He is artful at evoking emotion to cloud facts. He does not deserve to wait outside the Oval office never mind work there. This immigration thing will be his undoing on several levels – lack of fairness, lack of decisive action, and the revelation of the cost to us of illegal immigrants will become more than apparent and sink him. This is why he did not put it ahead of health care -even though people were dying down at the southern border. Finance, The War and Immigration – those needed attention way before health care. His priorities will sink his ship.

Anyone who thinks Arizona is racist because of this law is a sheep and a fool of the Obama media. Read the law. It is not what the Dems says it is – the Dems are lying through their teeth.
AZ is are not doing anything beyond what the federal law (that the government ignores) says to do. This law does NOT give magical powers to the police. No one can be pulled over just because of how he or she ‘looks.’ If you’re speeding, can’t speak English, don’t have a drivers license, then yes, you may be asked additional questions. America is under seige by illegal immigrants. Legal citizens have nothing to fear.

Yeah, this is getting way out of hand. I’m tired of being disgusted with our elected politicians – everyday its something new taht will rob us of our freedoms. Illegal aliens are here illegally.
