Double frugalicious… two of my personal indulgences — Starbucks and Quiznos — both have impressive money-saving specials just around the corner.
Starting on May 7, my beloved mocha frappuccino at Starbucks will cost half its normal price (from 3 to 5 pm) up through May 16. Here’s the promo text from the Starbucks website:

Quiznos has an even more family-friendly special that Mile High on the Cheap blog has showcased: Quiznos Kidz Eat Free Deal:

I’ve seen this Quiznos Kidz Eat Free Deal cited on a number of other frugal sites, but am not finding it mentioned on the actual Quiznos website as of today. So, call ahead to be sure that your local Quiznos is offering the kids “eat free” deal.
In tribute to both Starbucks and Quiznos for their admirable frugal efforts for financially strapped Americans, I’ve embedded two of my favorite, classic TV commercials for each of them.
The Quiznos adverts are from a few years back — they were controversial and were eventually yanked, but I really loved that creepy singing rat, or hamster, or space monkey, or whatever rodent it was suppose to be (watch the videos at your own risk). Insane and hilarious…
