Sexy photos of Miss USA contestants causing an uproar - this is Miss Arkansas

I’m no wild rebel — actually, more of a middle-aged prude — but I’m thinking these black-and-white Miss USA photos are much like Vogue’s lingerie and fragrance ads.

Which, reportedly, they are supposed to be.

Do they bother me? Not really… after Demi Moore posed nude on a 1991 magazine cover while pregnant, I don’t get riled up over “scandalous” photos like I used to. Claudia Schiffer has posed similarly for a magazine cover photo op — nude — while pregnant with her THIRD child.

In this day and age, suggestive photos like these of beautiful young women who are competing in a beauty pageant are not much of a scandal… they’re extremely tame compared to what is happening within our federal government and the myriad problems of the country. Or compared to any of the provocative images seen now 24/7 on MTV.

I pick my battles…

From Examiner, Miss USA scandal pictures, including a modest Miss North Carolina:

Miss USA scandal pictures gone viral! The 2010 Miss USA pageant will appear in Vegas on May 16, but catch an early glimpse before the long legged beauties enter the stage. The Miss America promotional black and white photos caused a ruffle as the pageant defends their tactic.

When the Miss USA 2010 contestants began showing up online in black and white scandalous photos America had to ask – “When did the Miss America contestants turn Maxim?”

Visit the Miss USA scandal pictures thanks to TMZ.

As Miss North Carolina displays herself in a sexy black bra and panties while her heels playfully rise the heart of North Carolina skips a beat. According to Carolina News 14 High Point’s Nadia Moffett, graduate from UNC Greensboro, explores a goal to expand her Make Me a Queen Foundation program to young girls. Queens are not created by modest promotional backside shots – but the Miss America photos grabbed attention, just as planned.

Miss Utah, Miss New Hampshire, Miss Arkansas (edge of bed), Miss Minnesota, Miss Maryland, Miss Hawaii, Miss Georgia, Miss Kentucky, Miss Iowa, Miss North Dakota, Miss Texas, Miss New York, Miss Illinois, Miss Wyoming, Miss Indiana, Miss Delaware, Miss Connecticut, Miss Louisiana, Miss Ohio, Miss Idaho, Miss Florida, Miss Washington D.C., Miss Nevada, Miss Oregon, Miss Arizona, and other Miss America contestants take the bed shot as they are perky, smiling in various sexy positions on a bed.

There are chair shots, wall shots and some are wondering where the jello shots are located.

From World Breaking News, Miss USA Scandal pictures:

The Miss USA contest is under fire for posting racy lingerie photos of its current crop of contestants.

In a bedroom-inspired, black-and-white shoot, the 51 models — representing the 50 states and Washington D.C. — lounge about in open button-downs and suggestive underthings. Miss South Carolina, Rachel Law, poses in a white corset top, while Bethany Gerber as Miss Kansas wears nothing but a men’s dress shirt barely held in place.

I think it is so sad that we consider this ok. Sure it is for women that age maybe- they are old enough to make their own decisions and supposedly handle themselves as adults BUT to all the young girls who look up to these women as role models?? God forbid that my girls would have looked up to these women or the sponsors of this contest.. When I was growing up (and I am in my mid 50’s) Miss America contestant were actually women you looked up to. I am so sorry that society has disentigrated down so low. I work with so many teen age girls in the high school- my hopes were that they would h’t have to pose like hoes in order to get attentions!!!
