More golfing while Louisiana's coast is being covered in oil... Pres. Obama has golfed more in his short time in office than Pres. Bush did during his entire two-term presidency

Raise your hand if you’re sick to the marrow of your bones reading about Obama golfing, or playing basketball, or swimming in the ocean, or vacationing, or going out for ice cream when crises are occurring. Yes, he’s only human and he “should” be permitted a bit of fun now and then. But he’s in self-centered, college-freshman fun mode way too often — between his jetting all over creation to either bash Arizona or apologizing for America. I’m guessing the bashing and apologizing (and bowing and spending and excessive taxpayer-funded White House partying) are considered “work” mode.

News alert — being a “9 to 5″ president is NOT appropriate. This is not a job at the local Dairy Queen or Home Depot where you get weekends off. Obama knew the demands and responsibilities before he took the job, but he’s still being given a pass by many of his liberal supporters, despite his record-breaking golf jaunts.

Americans expect more of the leader of the once-great America — GW Bush gave up golf altogether after the 9/11 terrorist attacks, saying that he didn’t want to be smacking balls around on the golf course should another attack or another US crisis occur. He was concerned about how insensitive it would look to the nation, that the impression that he didn’t care about his role as president or about the American people would be assumed.

Obama doesn’t care.

And some in the left-wing media are finally waking up to that fact, now that we face an environmental catastrophe that is shadowing the oil spill of the Exxon Valdez. But Obama golfs… after naming a government commission to review what’s happening with the oil spill and openly demonizing BP, rather than taking responsibility as our Commander in Chief.

Good grief. Even ultra-lib journalist and contributing senior news analyst for National Public Radio Cokie Roberts is disenchanted with Obama’s poor performance on the oil spill, as shown in this roundtable on ABC News.

Beaches closed in Louisiana…

Officials closed the public beach here Friday as thick gobs of oil resembling melted chocolate washed up, a very visible reminder of the blown-out well that has been spewing crude into the Gulf of Mexico for a month.

Up to now, only tar balls and a light sheen had come ashore. But oil was starting to hit the beach at this island resort community in various forms – light sheens, orange-colored splotches and heavier brown sheets – said Chris Roberts, a local official who surveyed the area Friday morning.

President Barack Obama took to the golf course on Saturday after returned from delivering the commencement address at West Point.

The president teed off at the Andrews Air Force Base course with three other people, according to a pool report, but only one could be identified: White House trip director Marvin Nicholson.

Golf is a frequent weekend pastime for Obama. The president headed to the course almost immediately after disembarking from Air Force One.

The oil from the BP spill has arrived at Louisiana’s coast and President Obama rushed home to Washington … to go golfing.

Meanwhile, even Democrats are criticizing Obama for his handling of the crisis as the oil continues to gush in the Gulf:

“Is the Obama administration doing a good enough job responding to the BP oil spill?

No, said and Donna Brazile on the “This Week” roundtable. “The oil is gushing and we’re being lied to by how much oil is gushing…and the administration has now named a commission,” Cokie Roberts said derisively. “Now this is what you do when you really don’t have anything else to do: you name a commission,” she said. “That’s not going to stop the oil.”

“One of the problems I have with the [Obama] administration is that they’re not tough enough,” Brazile said. “They are waiting for BP to say, ‘oh we have a new plan to stop the oil leak.’ They need to stop it, contain it, clean it up and try and help us conserve our coastal wetlands,” Brazile said.”

Even James Carville and Chris “Tingles” Matthews are realizing the obvious-to-everyone-else apathy and lack of focus by Obama about resolving the devastation hitting the Louisiana coast… their negative remarks about POTUS’s failure to act in a concerned, strong leadership role were published at Huffington Post:

Democratic strategist James Carville and MSNBC anchor Chris Matthews, two reliable supporters of President Barack Obama, have issued withering critiques of the administration’s handling of the Gulf oil spill.

Carville, the famously outspoken Louisianian who was a chief political aide to Bill and Hillary Clinton, told CNN’s Anderson Cooper on Thursday that the administration’s response to the spill has been “lackadaisical” and that Obama was “naive” to trust BP to manage the massive clean-up effort.

Chris Matthews argued during a “Tonight Show” appearance that the President was “acting a little like a Vatican Observer.”

“The President scares me,” he said. “When is he actually going to do something? And I worry; I know he doesn’t want to take ownership of it. I know politics. He said the minute he says, ‘I’m in charge,’ he takes the blame, but somebody has to. It’s in our interest.”
