Republicans Ready to Repeal Horrible ObamaCare, 63% of Americans Despise Dems’ Healthcare Plan, Romney Supports Repeal Push (video)

This GOP bill to repeal ObamaCare likely won’t get far with the Democrat Congress, but it’s a start… and I can most definitely see November from my house.

From The Hill, GOP moves to repeal healthcare law:

House Republican leaders introduced a bill Thursday to repeal and replace the sweeping healthcare law adopted in late March.

According to Rep. Roy Blunt (R-Mo.), the measure would repeal the current law and replace it with the alternative the minority party offered to the original healthcare legislation last November.

“As unpopular as this healthcare bill is today, it’s at the height of its popularity,” Blunt said. “The more the American people know about it, the more concerns they are going to have, and the more they are going to look at alternatives.”

Chances are slim Republicans could get their measure to the floor, given the Democratic majorities in the chamber, but it could make a useful campaign tool for the party.

The vote on healthcare reform has become a political issue in a year rife with anti-incumbent sentiment.

Tea Party activists opposed the legislation and protested on Capitol Hill during the March vote, shouting, “Kill the bill.”

Several Democratic candidates in conservative-leaning districts have said they would not have voted for the bill, while unions are withholding support from some Democratic incumbents who voted against the legislation.

A Gallup poll taken earlier this month found that healthcare is still in the Top Five list of voters’ concerns. Another Gallup poll found that voters are “no less concerned about paying the costs of a serious illness or accident, or normal healthcare costs, than they were last year.”

In all, 20 GOP lawmakers co-sponsored the repeal-and-replace bill, including House Minority Leader John Boehner (Ohio), Whip Eric Cantor (Va.), GOP conference Chairman Mike Pence (Ind.) and Blunt.

Rep. Wally Herger (R-Calif.), the ranking member of the Ways and Means Subcommittee on Healthcare, formally submitted the bill.

Good for the GOP.

They ought to keep introducing repeal bills weekly until November and hold a press conference after every vote.

From Rasmussen Reports, Health Care Law — 63% Favor Repeal of National Health Care Plan:

Support for repeal of the new national health care plan has jumped to its highest level ever. A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 63% of U.S. voters now favor repeal of the plan passed by congressional Democrats and signed into law by President Obama in March.

[...]

Sixty-three percent (63%) of all voters expect the health care plan to increase the federal deficit. Just 12% expect the bill to push the deficit down, while 13% say it will have no impact.

Fifty-five percent (55%) say the plan will make the quality of health care in the country worse. Twenty percent (20%) expect it to improve the quality of health care, and 18% think quality will stay about the same.

Fifty-five percent (55%) also expect the health care plan to drive up the cost of health care rather than achieve its stated goal of causing those costs to go down. Only 18% believe health care costs will indeed go down because of the plan’s passage. Another 16% expect costs to stay about the same.

Male voters remain more critical of the health care plan than female voters.

Video encore of the dirty “sweetheart” deals and bribes Democrat leaders had to swing — using taxpayer money — in order to get the votes needed to push Americans into the heinous ObamaCare hellhole in March.

From CNN Political Ticker, Romney gets behind health care repeal push:

(CNN) – Former and likely future presidential candidate Mitt Romney is vowing to support conservative lawmakers who pledge to repeal aspects of the health care reform bill that President Obama signed into law Tuesday.

Called “Prescription for Repeal,” the new effort from Romney’s Free and Strong Political Action Committee is promising to fund members of Congress who “will repeal the worst aspects of Obamacare and restore commonsense principles to healthcare,” according to a statement released Wednesday.

[...]

Appearing on CNN’s Larry King Live Tuesday night, Romney took aim at Obama for failing to attract any Republican support for the health care reform legislation.

“What he is supposed to do is have a plan that is bipartisan,” Romney said. “The process was one which violated the principles which he played out during the campaign and was a power push by a single party.”
