Leftists Freakout: Elton John Had a Great Time Performing at Limbaugh’s Wedding Reception (video)

Many left-wingers freaked out about singer Elton John, who is gay, performing at conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh's wedding reception
This past weekend, conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh was married to the lovely Kathryn Rogers (Lavish Luau, Then a Secret-from-the-Press Palm Beach Wedding: 400 Guests Expected at Rush Limbaugh’s Wedding Tonight, Elton John to Perform — Congrats to Rush & Kathryn) and the left-wing zealots freaked out.
I mean, they FREAKED OUT in a big freakin’ way.
Full, nasty force — in reporting his wedding, I did not see a single one offer congratulations. Not one major news source could I find was civil and merely reported on the nuptials, even for a paragraph — maybe some are out there, but I couldn’t find them. Name-calling was rampant. Most resorted to calling him a drug addict, although it was in reference to a long-ago dependency to the highly addictive painkiller OxyContin that Limbaugh developed when he was taking it as a legal prescription for a severe back injury — and which Limbaugh has been very upfront about, announcing it to his radio audience back in 2003. He sought drug rehabilitation treatment, but a huge witch hunt ensued with the liberal press and the state attorney general. Limbaugh says he is no longer addicted, but has suffered total deafness in one ear and partial deafness in the other because of the OxyContin.
These same hypocritical leftists who attacked Rush for his addiction have no problem (or maybe they do, but just keep their lips sealed) with our president, Barack Obama, smoking dope and possibly snorting cocaine before he was president. Which, last time I looked, were both illegal back then as they are now — except in California and maybe a few other places where the laws are changing.
So, nothing unexpected occurred when leftists displayed their bigotry and intolerance on their sleeves when they discovered that Elton John had agreed to perform at Limbaugh’s wedding reception.
From what I read, the liberals’ attacks on the Internet against Elton and/or Rush have been scathing, profane, homophobic, and just filled with typical mainstream media feed-it-to-the-sheep lies:
Rush Limbaugh is not a gay basher, but leftists want us to believe he is.
Rush Limbaugh does not hate gays, but leftists want us to believe he is.
Global warming and unicorns are not real, but leftists want us to believe they are is — sorry, couldn’t resist.
Leftists claim they want everyone to be peaceful and to get along, to be respectful of different lifestyles and sexual orientation. For there to be a common ground of respect even if ideologies are different. C’mon, another chorus of Kumbaya!
But when it actually happens, when a conservative and a liberal show mutual respect and enter into a business arrangement, as happened with Limbaugh’s wedding, they despise it and feel compelled to tear and rip and shred and spit upon anything good that resulted.
Welcome once again to Hypocrisy Land.
Elton John and Rush Limbaugh both have spoken in support of civil unions for gays, but not for traditional marriage. Being against same-sex marriage is NOT hatred of gays, although there are those would like to think it is.
Psst, left-wing haters… Elton John had a great time at the wedding, and has even invited Rush and Kathryn to stay with him in London whenever they visit. Heads exploding yet?

Via Mediaite, a rebuttal to lefties and gay-rights activists speculating that the only reason a guy who’s in a civil union would play the wedding of an alleged neo-Hitlerian gay-hater is for a $1 million payday. (Sample quote: “Isn’t that a bit like Beyoncé entertaining at a KKK rally?”) Two things. First, Kelly quotes Elton as having said that he’s “all about tearing down walls and building bridges,” which is true to form. Remember when he teamed up for a Freddie Mercury tribute with Axl Rose, whose most notorious song for Guns ‘n Roses sneered about “immigrants and faggots”? Remember when he dueted at the Grammys with Eminem, who has his own share of gay-baiting lyrics? He has been to known to bridge-build from time to time.

Example of the lib freakout… here’s the opening of Vanity Fair’s despicable, ugly hit piece reporting of the wedding… no extreme liberal bias or hate here, right? Conservatives will have a tough time reading the piece in its entirety without feeling a hot shower is necessary immediately afterward to wash away the filth… Elton John Performs at Rush Limbaugh’s Wedding, of All Things:
Whalelike radio performer Rush Limbaugh tied the knot with some lady last weekend in Palm Beach, Florida. According to The Palm Beach Post and People, some very notable, very alienating people were in attendance: Sean Hannity, James Carville, Mary Matalin, Rudy Giuliani, and Clarence Thomas were all there, and so was Elton John, who performed at the reception. The price tag of an Elton John concert of one’s own? One million dollars, People reports. This figure seems a bit low! In 2009, Reuters found that of all wedding performers, “Elton John is the second most expensive, charging over $2 million for private performances although all earnings from his private concerts go to his charity, the Elton John AIDS Foundation.”
“Whalelike” as the opening word to the reporting of a wedding is just so hopenchange-y.
Not sure why this writer decided to preface the guest list, which includes the honorable Supreme Court Judge Clarence Thomas, with the snotty modifier “very alienating.”
Working up to “congratulations” was just too difficult for this Vanity Fair hack to muster.
