No “Rest in Peace” for Michael Jackson: 1-Year Anniversary of Singer’s Death Coming, Grounds of His Tomb Will Be Open to Public… Media Circus Will Explode Again
Posted By Vicki McClure Davidson on June 11, 2010

The one-year anniversary of Michael Jackson's death is just two weeks away... his mausoleum will be open to the public. No rest, no peace for the dead entertainer.
Michael Jackson fans, mark your calendars.
In a scant 14 days, on June 25 — the one-year anniversary of the “King of Pop’s” untimely death — the grounds of Jackson’s tomb in Glendale, California’s Forest Lawn will be open to the public.
Sorta.
Shudder. More MJ 24/7 media circus coverage exploding soon.
No “rest in peace” for Jackson. Not now, maybe not ever.
From Hip-Hop Wired, Burial Site of Michael Jackson Makes Plans For 1st Year Anniversary:
The funeral, turned circus, of Michael Jackson is still making news almost a year after the fallen Icon’s death.
Forest Lawn in Glendale, California, where Michael Jackson was finally laid to rest, may allow fans to visit the grounds of his tomb for the first anniversary of his death, June 25th.
Arrangements for a ceremony that will allow people to pay homage to the King of Pop are in their final stages. Fans will not be able to enter the mausoleum but plans are being worked out as to how close fans will be able to get to Jackson’s actual burial site.
Is it just me, or is this kind of creepy?
Let’s think about it. I’m going to spend an inordinate amount of time and/ or money to stare at Michael Jackson’s tombstone from a distance. Crazy.
Everyone says R.I.P. when referring to Michael but I wonder if we ever are really going to let the man rest in peace. If I had to guess some member of the Jackson family will be collecting a hefty check for these “festivities” that go on in Michael Jackson’s “honor.”
And as long as the checks keep coming, the “circus” will continue.
From MTV, Michael Jackson Fans To Have Access To Cemetery On Anniversary Of His Death:
Fans all over the world are likely preparing for the one-year anniversary Michael Jackson’s death on June 25, and officials in Los Angeles are planning to help them commemorate the sad occasion. According to the Los Angeles Times, Jackson’s fans are expected to get limited access to the Forest Lawn cemetery in Glendale, California, in two weeks to mark the anniversary.
In plans expected to be finalized this week, Jackson’s admirers will be allowed onto the grounds of the cemetery but not into the Great Mausoleum, where the singer’s body was interred in September.
“We understand that Forest Lawn is working with the Jackson family for some kind of commemoration,” said Glendale Police Sgt. Tom Lorenz. “We will be working closely with Forest Lawn to ensure the safety of those who want to pay their respects to Michael Jackson while ensuring the safety of others who are coming to the cemetery to pay respects to their loved ones.”
Though fans will not be allowed in the Great Mausoleum, discussions are still ongoing about how close they will be allowed to get to the structure, which is also the final resting place of such Hollywood legends as Clark Gable, Carole Lombard, Jean Harlow and Red Skelton.
“Basically, they will be viewing it from a distance,” Lorenz said.
From Entertainment Daily, Family To Remember Michael Jackson On His First Death Anniversary:
Family members of the legendary singer, Michael Jackson, will be holding a red carpet celebration event that will feature various performances in his honor. The event that has been named ‘Forever Michael’ will mark the first death anniversary of the King of Pop.
It will be take place on June 26th at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills. VoicePlate Production, the company which is producing the event said that the idea behind the event is to bring together Jackson’s family members, fans, supporters and the community in order to pay homage to his legacy. It will be made open to the public with a charge of $500 for VIP tickets and $250 for general admission which can be obtained from VoicePlate.com.
Apart from this event, hordes of Jackson’s fans plan to descend upon his grave on his first death anniversary despite being banned from the mausoleum.
Even Gary, Indiana is revving up for the “big event”… reported by Chicago Tribune, Gary cleaning up for anniversary of Jackson death:
GARY, Ind. — Crews are working to clean up Michael Jackson’s hometown of Gary ahead of the anniversary of the pop star’s death.
Mayor Rudy Clay says officials want to be sure the city is looking good June 25, one year after Jackson’s death. Clay says Gary expects thousands of people to visit the Jackson home that day.
Three trucks marked with Gary’s city seal and two front-end loaders could be seen Monday outside the Jackson home in the 2300 block of Jackson Street. Workers trimmed branches around the property and hauled away the debris.

SHOCK: Michael Jackson Has Died
From Mirror.co.uk, Michael Jackson’s estate has earned nearly $1billion since his death:
Michael Jackson’s estate has raked in close to a billion dollars in the year since he died.
The huge sum – from record sales and lucrative deals brokered by the estate – is 47 TIMES what the debt-ridden King Of Pop made the previous year.
That’s nearly two thirds of what Elvis Presley’s estate has made in the 33 YEARS since his death. If the cash keeps rolling in, Jacko’s children, Prince Michael, 12, Paris, 11 and Blanket, 7, will get billions from their trust funds when they reach 21.
A source said: “The estate has made around $900 million (£614m) in cash since Michael’s death. This is an incredible amount. No other artist has ever made that much since they died. It should ensure Michael goes down in history as the greatest artist of all time.”
Record sales soared as soon as news of Jacko’s death was announced on June 25 last year.
More than 415,000 albums were sold in the first four days in America alone – and 2.3 million songs were downloaded across the world.
In the previous year Jacko, who was struggling to pay off $500 million of debts and was selling off his beloved Neverland Ranch, had sold just 10,000 records, got cash from 37,000 downloads – and made an estimated $19 million.
