Sorry, Rory, You’re No Fabio… Harry Reid’s Son Running for Nevada Governor, Drops His Last Name in Campaign Ad (video)

Sorry, Rory Reid, you're no Fabio.

Sorry, Rory, you’re no Fabio. Dropping your last name won’t fool Nevada voters.

Questions posed by adorable child actors in Rory Reid’s most recent political campaign video in his run for Nevada governor…

Highest ethical standards? Just like his father Sen. Harry Reid’s “high” ethical standards when “Dingy Harry” helped spearhead, with taxpayer bribes, the biggest federal government takeover of America’s economy and freedoms against the wishes of the majority of Nevadans and majority of Americans with socialized health care? The same Harry Reid who fervently blocked an investigation into fraud at ACORN?

Do they always put Nevada first? See above.

Do they follow their own instincts? Such as dropping the use of their last name in political campaign commercials to avoid connection with the disgraced Sen. Harry Reid who is tanking in the polls?

Do they understand that a stronger economy depends on stronger schools? A stronger economy depends on many things, including less government interference and more free market principles. Exploiting cute child actors in a lame, detail-lacking TV ad is easier than offering actual, sound economic-based solutions that have been proven to work.

And do they have a plan to totally transform our schools? This one is the most troubling. I looked into Rory Reid’s (Rory2010.com) website for details on his revolutionary “plan” to “totally transform schools.”

At this point, it looks like all Rory plans to do, as all Democrats and many Republicans do, is throw millions and billions more taxpayer dollars at the education problem. His plan to “totally transform schools” is not a plan at all. It’s statist and sounds much like “totally transform healthcare” — we know what happened when the Democrat weasels in Washington did that.

Rory, you’re just like your dad, and he’s not doing so well in the polls against Sharron Angle (Reid trails Angle by 7 points right now in the NV Senate race). Going by just your first name, like Fabio… or Charo or Madonna or Prince or Cher or Oprah… have done before you, doesn’t change a bloody thing.

You’re still Rory Reid, son of Dingy Harry Reid.

Commentary from Troglopundit, It’ll be a cold, quiet Fourth of July at the Reid family picnic this year:

This is both hilarious and disturbing, all at the same time:

Harry who? Son omits Reid name from campaign ad

Rory Reid may have a well-known last name — he’s the son of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid — but he doesn’t seem anxious to let Nevada voters know what it is. A Democratic county commissioner who is running for governor of Nevada, Reid launched his first campaign commercial on Wednesday. But Reid’s last name is nowhere to be found in the video…

From Hot Air, Rasmussen: Angle leads He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named by seven:

The demographics look pretty good for Angle. She has a wide lead among men (55/36), narrowly loses women (42/47), wins every age demographic, and more than doubles up among independents (58/26). Among the ethnic demo “Other”, Angle wins 65/18, and wins the $20-40K income demo 56/33. Interestingly, they have identical favorable ratings at 48%, but Reid gets a 43% “very unfavorable” rating, compared to Angle’s 33%. Fifty-three percent want ObamaCare repealed, and since Reid wrote the final version of that bill himself, that makes it difficult to see how he can get above the mid-40s regardless of who his opponent is.

Meanwhile, his son Rory has decided to ditch the last name altogether:

Nevada gubernatorial candidate Rory Reid (D) is on the air with his first campaign ad and it’s missing one thing: his last name.

Reid, the son of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), doesn’t say his name at any point during the ad, but it prominently features his campaign logo, “Rory 2010.”

Observers noticed that throughout the gubernatorial primary, Rory Reid seemed to distance himself from his father, who faced high disapproval ratings from voters. …

Rory Reid’s website also neglects to mention his last name on its main banner, which reads “Rory 2010.”

In other words, Rory Reid has decided to make himself the Cher of Nevada politics.
