From Giving Condoms to First Graders, to Dissing Students Being Honored for Enlisting in the Military… What’s Going on with Massachusetts Teachers? (video)

Bumper sticker: 'If you can read this, thank a teacher. If you're reading this in English, thank a soldier.' Unless, of course, it's leftwing teachers in Massachusetts who insult students and denounce our soldiers
What in the blue blazes is up with Massachusetts schools these days?
Two disgraceful, unrelated stories in the past few weeks, both in the Boston, MA area, have been about unhinged, left-wing administrators and teachers of public schools. How can these crazed people be permitted to be around children?
For Provincetown — where condoms are to be distributed free to elementary school students without their parents’ knowledge — the city’s nickname “Like Nowhere Else” is quite appropriate.
I’ve written previously about the taxpayer-funded, “condoms to first graders” debacle, which has been spearheaded by leftist school superintendent Beth Singer… if you missed it, click here for the full, disgusting story.
For Boston to be nicknamed “The Cradle of Liberty” is an utter travesty — two extremist anti-war teachers got on their statist soapboxes and held protest signs while STUDENTS at a high school assembly were being honored for enlisting in the military. These vile women deliberately disrupted the event with their signs, and they refused to clap for these kids. Yet now they are trying to spin this as some kind of “hopenchange teaching moment” about how to show dissent.
Gimme a break.
Their left-wing, spoiled-brat butts should be served their own “teaching moment” and be kicked without hesitation to the curb for their insulting, inappropriate behavior.
I’m sure there are MANY patriotic, unemployed teachers in Massachusetts — heck, anywhere in the country — who are desperate for work and would be thrilled for a chance to teach, motivate, and support such amazing students who are enlisting in the military to serve our country.
According to students at the school, these two teachers often use the classroom to push their anti-America, anti-military, socialist propaganda. Students waged their own protest after the assembly against the teachers. We’ll have to see what happens when the school goes back into session, since with summer break, memories of these teachers’ showboating, anti-troop stunt will likely fade.
From WBZTV.com, Teachers Hold “End War” Signs At Military Assembly:
Two teachers at Dennis Yarmouth Regional High School have touched off a firestorm after holding up an “End War” sign at a school assembly where six students who’ve enlisted in the military were being honored.
Many in the community say the teachers crossed a line and treated their own students with disrespect.
The students received a standing ovation, but at that point the two teachers sat down refusing to clap.
Teacher Marybeth Verani defends her protest saying, “I’m showing students in a democracy how to exercise dissent.”
Some students responded by leafleting her classroom with signs saying “Support Our Troops.”
The honored students were stunned.
“For people to not really show support… no one has to agree with your decision, but they can help you along with your decision,” said Evan Tuohy-Bedford, who enlisted with the U.S. Marines.
“Now it’s hard to see them as a role model if they’re not supporting their students,” said Ashley Jacob, who’s also enlisted with the U.S. Marines.

Moonbat Teachers Stage Anti-War Protest at Ceremony for Students Enlisting in the Military | June 2010
From Stop The ACLU, Anti-War Teachers Disrupt Recognition of Military-Minded Students:
Last week two Massachusetts High School teachers took it upon themselves to protest against the U.S. Military as students that had announced plans to join our armed forces were receiving recognition from their school. Incensed students and parents called for the teachers to be fired.
History teacher Marybeth Verani and English teacher Adeline Koscher raised signs protesting the military during the June 11 ceremony at Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School interrupting the proceedings and angering the parents and their students that were being recognized.
Students were upset that these teachers decided to impose their anti-American, anti-Military view on the room full of attendees during a time meant to celebrate the student’s efforts to serve their country.
Andrew Bowles Jr., a junior at the school, told reporters afterward, “They not only imposed their political will, they imposed it at the wrong time.”
A parent, Joanne Schuman of Yarmouth, thought that the teachers would have been removed from the event.
With this attempt to get their 15 minutes of fame these two selfish teachers decided to put the spotlight upon themselves detracting from the students’ moment of recognition.
To make matters worse, in the audience was the parent of a soldier killed in action in Afghanistan. In attendance was Yarmouth police Lt. Steven Xiarhos, whose son, U.S. Marine Cpl. Nicholas Xiarhos, was lost in action in 2009. This man who lost his son in service to our country was forced to sit through these teacher’s outrageous intrusion as his own son was celebrated for his service.
These left-wing activists should be fired for their disruption of the ceremony meant to recognize the selfless students that had elected to join our military. There are certainly times to discuss current events, but an award ceremony is not one of those times.
From Gateway Pundit, Disgusting… Leftist TEACHERS Hold Antiwar Signs at Assembly Honoring Students Joining the Military:
The ugly side of liberalism…
Two crazed anti-American teachers held anti-war signs during a high school assembly honoring 6 students who signed up to join the military.
Teacher Marybeth Verani said, “I’m showing students in a democracy how to exercise dissent.”
These teachers should have been fired on the spot. They should never be allowed to work around children.
How disgusting and completely selfish.
Would love to see these two nutbars relocated to another country to try such a stunt in public. Let them see the horrors of the lack of freedom of speech first hand, the same freedom of speech, and other provisions of freedom, that our military defends and makes possible not only for America, but other oppressed nations.

What about better books and teachers? What about upgrading the curriculum so that students can compete on a global level in science, math and writing? Why would a 1st grader need a condom? Blank stare. Sounds like the Boston school system is being run by a bunch of pedophiles.
