Pre-Fourth of July Tributes: Kahn’s “American Heart,” Greenwood’s “God Bless the USA,” Red Skelton, & John Wayne (video)
Posted By Vicki McClure Davidson on July 3, 2010
A few pre-Fourth of July video tributes to our nation and to our selfless soldiers, Marines, airmen, sailors, and Coast Guards who love and defend her… and who are willing to make the ultimate sacrifice so as to protect us all.
God bless our troops, God bless our veterans, and God bless America, on this day before our nation’s 234th birthday.
May we never take for granted the freedoms we have in this great country. May we never find ourselves losing those freedoms.
H/t to Gateway Pundit for showcasing this first video. A stirring, patriotic new song for the Tea Party Movement… just in time for Independence Day, for those who love America. Dedicated to all tea partiers across the country.
Patriots, raise the flag, keep your heads up, make your voices heard.
“I’m in love with her, and I won’t apologize…”

This next one is a television classic that many of you may have already seen: the late, great comedian Red Skelton on the Pledge of Allegiance on his comedy-variety show. This aired in 1969.
Skelton shares the story of his sage school teacher, Mr. Laswell. His rendition still gives me goose bumps and makes me long for the days when American patriotism was celebrated, not denigrated, by entertainers.
The closing lines are chilling and prophetic.

Another stirring, thought-provoking oration from The Duke… John Wayne on “The Hyphen.”
John Wayne – The Hyphen
Check out the patriotic video tribute, with John Wayne’s Pledge of Allegiance voiceover, at No Sheeples Here… One Nation Under God. “Inspiring” is an understatement — the vintage photos of the Statue of Liberty and of immigrants coming to America are especially stirring.
