Bravo, Rep. Price — But Crown-Wearing Democrats Don’t Care about Americans, So Your Bill to Stop Their Lame Duck, Free-for-all Session Will Be Shot Down

Democrats have put crowns on their heads, and the POTUS crown is the grandest of all
Congressman Tom Price of Georgia should be commended. He’s attempting to prevent a Democrat free-for-all after this November’s election with a bill that pretty much expects the Democrats to promise they won’t be spendthrift jerks.
Let’s face facts. Democrats are like debutante prom queens going wild with Daddy’s platinum credit card and maxing it out, even after promising Daddy over and over again that they will be responsible and trustworthy and not overspend. NOT OVERSPEND?
Dream on, you kooky conservatives.
I don’t think I’m going out on a limb to say that most Democrats in Congress don’t care a freakin’ rat’s patootie about what the majority of Americans want. They don’t want to uphold the Constitution, many have demonstrated that they don’t want to be a representative voice of the people (we haven’t forgotten the disgrace of ObamaCare, you weasels) — they prefer to ignore, lecture, mock, undermine, malign, and override the will of the majority of people who elected them.
They’ve positioned imaginary tiaras on their wobbly prom queen heads.
The sparkly crown on Prom King Obama’s head is the largest, most sumptuous of all.
The lame duck session will be a test of politicians’ character and integrity. I think we have a pretty squared away idea on how that movie will end. But perhaps Democrats will surprise us and do the RIGHT thing, the “elected servant of the people” thing for a change.
After all, even the most egotistical, vapid prom queens are not self-absorbed monsters 100 percent of the time.

Washington, Jul 29 – Republican Study Committee Chairman Tom Price (R-GA) issued the following statement after offering a resolution on the floor of the House of Representatives calling on Congress not to hold a lame duck session after Election Day for the purpose of passing hugely unpopular legislation like a national energy tax, enormous deficit spending bills, and the kickback to Big Labor known as “Card Check.”
“Americans are sick and tired of their elected leaders making backroom deals to ram through unpopular, 2000-page bills that no one has read,” said Chairman Price. “They are sick of out-of-touch politicians, and they are tired of being ignored. A number of Democrats, including members of their leadership, have recently expressed a desire to ignore the public will and use a lame duck session to pass liberal legislation Americans do not want. Today I gave my Democrat colleagues an opportunity to show they are finally ready to listen to the American people.
“Our system of government rests upon the consent of the governed, but it is quite clear that Democrats no longer have Americans’ consent. The public’s trust in this Congress has been repeatedly broken. Voting for a national energy tax and other items on the liberal wish list in a lame duck session would shatter it beyond repair. Republicans are fully prepared to do what is necessary to restore Americans’ trust in their elected representatives. We know it will be a long road, but it is one well worth traveling.”

Commentator and senior political analyst for The Washington Examiner Michael Barone summarizes the Democrats’ plight and imminent “thumping” they should expect in November:
Democratic spin doctors have set out how their side is going to hold onto a majority in the House. They’ll capture four at-risk Republican seats, hold half of the next 30 or so Democratic at-risk seats, and avoid significant losses on target seats lower on the list.
That’s one plausible scenario. The shift of opinion away from Democrats so evident in the polls could turn out to be illusory. The widely held assumption that Republicans will turn out in greater numbers than Democrats could prove wrong.
Democratic candidates do indeed have a money advantage in many close races, and their campaign committee has more cash than its Republican counterpart.
All that said, this Democratic spin sounds a lot like the Republican spin back in the 2006 cycle. If the numbers don’t change too much from 2004, Republicans said then, we can hold on. If the numbers don’t change too much from 2008, Democrats think now, they can hold on.
But the Republicans, as George W. Bush said, took “a thumping” in 2006. And most signs suggest Democrats will take a thumping this year, too.
…We haven’t seen polls released by many other Democrats on Republican target lists. Most are conducting polls; many have reason to release favorable results if they’re available. This looks like a case where the absence of evidence is evidence of absence.
Two years ago, Barack Obama was elected president with a historic 53 percent of the vote — more than any other Democrat in history except Andrew Jackson, Franklin Roosevelt and Lyndon Johnson.
These metrics — the generic ballot results and polls in individual districts — suggest that House Democrats are headed toward historic losses. Quite a swing in 18 months.
Per a Rasmussen poll a few months ago, a majority of American voters said that randomly selected people from the phone book would be the same or BETTER than elected members in Congress
