Nevada leads the nation in unemployment. And in home foreclosures. It’s even worse economically in the desert’s “City of Lights” than in deficit-bleeding Michigan or California.

I don’t recall long-time, ultra-liberal Sen. Harry Reid saying diddly-squat to Pres. Obama back in February when the president snottily hammered some extra nails into Nevada’s economic coffin… and it wasn’t the first time, either.

Did I miss it? Did I miss the senator nobly defending his state, defending Las Vegas? I’ve done a Google search to no avail.

Video encore from February 2010 below… kudos to Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman for taking action and mincing no words, by saying what Harry Reid SHOULD have said but did not, in defense of Las Vegas. A coward and a self-serving scoundrel.

Reid, as an elected political servant, should represent the state of Nevada and the United States of America, not just the Democrat party nor just Barack Obama.

Especially not when his grim silence financially hurts the very people who elected him in good faith and destroys the state’s economy.

Dingy Harry has helped with the growing economic and unemployment crisis in Nevada, if only by doing jack-spittle-nothing when the president dissed LV and shamed Americans for going there. And for his voting record. He hasn’t met a taxpayer-funded government program, welfare entitlement, or expensive government “freebie” he didn’t like (which is how those “distribute the wealth” liberals are), but when it came time for him to be a real man, a real voice of the Nevada people by standing up for his state and its citizens, he disgracefully woosed out.

When investigations into ACORN’s voter fraud and “blackjack bonus plan” were initiated in Nevada, as they were in other states, Sen. Reid went into frenzied linebacker mode to block any investigation of ACORN: Vote the Weasel Out: Nevada’s “Dingy Harry” Reid Is Blocking ACORN Investigation. Inquiring minds want to know why. Does Reid have secret ties to the corrupt organization, or was this a favor to Obama and the SEIU?

From CBN News, Higher Calling? Tea Party’s Angle Takes on Reid:

RENO, Nev. – GOP Senate nominee Sharron Angle is living the classic underdog story: a Tea Party conservative Christian trying to defeat the powerful Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada.

“Harry Reid, the most powerful man in the U.S. Senate has done nothing for Nevada,” Angle told CBN News. “Harry Reid is the government and Ronald Reagan said the government is not the solution. The government is the problem.”

This underdog Angle is out to change that.

Nevada may be beautiful, but the state’s economy is downright ugly. Nevada has the highest unemployment rate in the entire country. While that is bad news for Reid, it presents a political opportunity for Angle to knock off the Senate’s majority leader.

“There are three important issues: the economy, the economy, the economy,” Angle said. It’s a message her campaign ads have been hammering home.

Nevada leads the nation in unemployment, mortgage foreclosure and bankruptcies. It’s a situation that has left Reid vulnerable and put Angle in position for a tight battle. Most polls show her within the margin of error.

Now Angle, who’s been a Christian for 35 years, spends virtually every Sunday speaking to church groups where she gives her testimony – and takes questions about her faith, not politics.

When someone once asked her how she stayed strong in her faith, Angle responded, “I read the Bible. I read the Bible, I pray, and I seek good counsel.”

At the top of the good counsel list is Ted Angle, her husband of 40 years.

“I feel like it’s a calling on her life and she can’t deny it,” he said of her campaign against Reid. “She can’t not do it,” Ted Angle said.

“When God calls you, he also equips you,” Sharon Angle explained. “And He doesn’t just say ‘Well today you’re going to run against Harry Reid. There is a preparation. Everyone in the Bible when you read the Bible you can see that preparatory time.”

Angle is currently preparing for the political fight of her life.

“I think the onus is on her now to explain to the voters out there what she believes, who she is, why she’s deserving of being a U.S. Senator. If she does that, she can win this race,” Halperin said.

So what’s Angle’s number one priority if she wins?

“Repeal Obama Care is number one,” she stated. “She also wants a true audit of the Federal Reserve and to make the current IRS tax code something that is, “fairer, flatter, and simpler.”

For now, she has to focus on her campaign. Despite the attacks, despite the uphill climb, she knows that whatever the outcome, God is in control.

Nevada citizens, talk to your family and friends about Sharron Angle. Reid is an elitist, statist miscreant who needs to be voted out of office this November. He’s proven time and again he doesn’t have his state’s nor his nation’s best interests at heart.

Nevada’s state unemployment is at 14 percent, the highest in the nation. Per the government’s Bureau of Labor report that was released in June on unemployment in metropolitan regions, Las Vegas is at a staggering 14.5 percent unemployment (some sources put Las Vegas’s unemployment at 14.2 percent). Nevada also leads the nation for the highest rate of home foreclosures and bankruptcy filings.
