Connecticut’s McMahon vs. The Despicable Liar: Republican Linda McMahon Will Run Against Dem AG Richard “I Lied about Serving in Vietnam” Blumenthal for Senate (video)

In Connecticut, Republican Linda McMahon, former CEO of WWE, is running against Democrat Atty Gen. Richard 'I Lied Like a Dog for Decades about Serving in Vietnam' Blumenthal for the US Senate
Former wrestling executive Linda McMahon jumped one more hurdle yesterday when she won Connecticut’s GOP spot for the US Senate.
McMahon will now face Democratic Attorney General Richard “I Lied Like a Dog for Decades about Serving in Vietnam” Blumenthal in CT’s November election.
From Associated Press, Linda McMahon Wins GOP Primary For Connecticut Senate Seat:
HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Former wrestling executive Linda McMahon has fended off a late challenge from former Congressman Rob Simmons to win the Republican endorsement for Connecticut’s U.S. Senate seat.
McMahon on Tuesday defeated both Simmons and Weston financial expert Peter Schiff in the GOP primary.
Simmons had led the race back when U.S. Sen. Chris Dodd was still planning to seek re-election. He suspended his campaign in May after losing the party’s endorsement to McMahon, then restarted his efforts in recent weeks with TV ads reminding voters his name was still on the ballot.
But McMahon, who spent more than $20 million of her own money on the primary race, largely ignored his re-entry. She now faces Democratic Attorney General Richard Blumenthal in November.
From ABC News, Linda McMahon: I Will Spend What It Takes:
Former WWE executive Linda McMahon won her party’s Senate nomination last night, beating out Rep. Rob Simmons. The Connecticut Republican already spent $22 million of her own money on her Senate primary campaign, and didn’t rule out spending a lot more before November.
“I have said from the beginning, I would spend what it would take for the people of Connecticut to know who I am and what I stand for,” McMahon told me. “It’s money I’ve earned, it’s money I’m willing to invest into being a public servant for the people of Connecticut.”
McMahon said using her own money ensures her independence.
“I’m not going to take any special interest money or any PAC money…when I get to Washington I want to be the voice for the people of Connecticut and not owe special favors,” she said.
McMahon’s time heading the WWE became a campaign issue. Last night DSCC chair Sen. Robert Menendez released a statement saying “Connecticut Republicans today nominated a corporate CEO of WWE, who under her watch violence was peddled to kids, steroid abuse was rampant, yet she made her millions.”
McMahon wouldn’t admit if she had any regrets about her time at the WWE. She said Democrats can continue attacking it, she will focus on other issues.
“I’m going to continue to talk about what is important to the people of Connecticut which is jobs, getting people back to work, the economy. Because that is what is on their minds and that is what is proven to be effective throughout my campaign so far,” she said.
McMahon vs. The Despicable Liar. This should be verrrry eenteresting.
Heads up on this, Connecticut voters. Are you paying attention?
Here’s a portion of the New York Times’ May 2010 story about the Connecticut attorney general liar:
At a ceremony honoring veterans and senior citizens who sent presents to soldiers overseas, Attorney General Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut rose and spoke of an earlier time in his life.
Many politicians have faced questions over their decisions during the Vietnam War, and Mr. Blumenthal, who is seeking the seat being vacated by Senator Christopher J. Dodd, is not alone in staying out of the war.
But what is striking about Mr. Blumenthal’s record is the contrast between the many steps he took that allowed him to avoid Vietnam, and the misleading way he often speaks about that period of his life now, especially when he is speaking at veterans’ ceremonies or other patriotic events.
Sometimes his remarks have been plainly untrue, as in his speech to the group in Norwalk. At other times, he has used more ambiguous language, but the impression left on audiences can be similar.
In an interview on Monday, the attorney general said that he had misspoken about his service during the Norwalk event and might have misspoken on other occasions. “My intention has always been to be completely clear and accurate and straightforward, out of respect to the veterans who served in Vietnam,” he said.
But an examination of his remarks at the ceremonies shows that he does not volunteer that his service never took him overseas. And he describes the hostile reaction directed at veterans coming back from Vietnam, intimating that he was among them.
In 2003, he addressed a rally in Bridgeport, where about 100 military families gathered to express support for American troops overseas. “When we returned, we saw nothing like this,” Mr. Blumenthal said. “Let us do better by this generation of men and women.”
At a 2008 ceremony in front of the Veterans War Memorial Building in Shelton, he praised the audience for paying tribute to troops fighting abroad, noting that America had not always done so.
“I served during the Vietnam era,” he said. “I remember the taunts, the insults, sometimes even physical abuse.”
Mr. Blumenthal, 64, is known as a brilliant lawyer who likes to argue cases in court and uses language with power and precision. He is also savvy about the news media and attentive to how he is portrayed in the press.
But the way he speaks about his military service has led to confusion and frequent mischaracterizations of his biography in his home state newspapers. In at least eight newspaper articles published in Connecticut from 2003 to 2009, he is described as having served in Vietnam.
Gateway Pundit unearthed this bizarre information in May… Woah… Dem Senate Candidate Lies About Vietnam Service (Video):
Dem Senate Candidate Richard Blumenthal faked his Vietnam War service and lied about being the captain of the Harvard Swim Team.
[...]
Blumenthal was leading the race for the senate seat abandoned by Chris Dodd.
[...]
Blumenthal came out later today and blamed Republicans for his lies.
Blumenthal lied about the Harvard swim team, too??? And Republicans are to blame for his lies over the past umpteen years??? Was it also GEORGE W. BUSH’S FAULT?
Good grief.
If Democrat AG Blumanthal can so easily lie for decades to the press and veterans groups about serving in Vietnam and being captain of the Harvard swim team, what else will he deftly, unblinkingly lie about to CT voters?
Once a liar, always a liar…
Blast from the past… Video of AG Blumenthal on the Glenn Beck Show back in late March 2009. This was during the AIG debacle… Blumenthal goes ballistic for about 11 minutes. Not pretty… you be the judge, and please, pass the popcorn.

The problem with ‘Wealthy” independents is that they are running for office to PROMOTE and get policies passed that helps THEIR business..they have no interest in YOU!
Please note that for every politician you vote for. We need TRULY independent people who are teachers, professors, scientists..to run for offices.
These are the smart and educated people!
With all due respect, I’ve known many stupid teachers and many intelligent laborers. “Smart and educated” by whose standards? Ronald Reagan was one of our greatest presidents for fiscal responsibility, leadership, and conservative values, yet had an early career in radio and film after graduating from Eureka College with a major in economics and sociology. Jimmy Carter, one of our nation’s worst presidents, graduated from Georgia Tech. Both men served in the military. Similar education with military background, but vastly different men, different inate skills, and different outcomes.
A person’s education and career choice has very little to nearly nothing to do whatsoever with his or her intelligence, common sense, deductive reasoning, creative thinking, personality, integrity, nor leadership abilities nor his or her personal hidden agenda or ideologies. As evidenced by our nation’s latest idiotic, self-absorbed choice for the big chair in the Oval Office. Obama has proven, despite his Harvard education, that he is clueless about American history, lacks American patriotism, and willfully ignores the majority of Americans with his bullying and ramrodding of his unpopular socialist-progressive agenda. He is destroying the Democrat party and alienating himself from the majority of Americans – even those who voted for him are turning away – but he doesn’t give a rat’s patootie about it because he is a flaming narcissist and liar. But he DOES have a college education.
