Former Beauty Queen, Actress Zsa Zsa Gabor Hospitalized… Earlier Rumors about Her Death in Error

Despite earlier rumors, former Hungarian beauty queen and glamorous film actress Zsa Zsa Gabor, age 93, has not died.
She has, however, been hospitalized for flu-like symptoms.
Zsa Zsa Gabor has been taken to a hospital, but sources tell TMZ her condition is not life-threatening.
We’ve learned the person who called 911 from Gabor’s house mentioned flu-like symptoms and body pain.
We’re told a private ambulance has taken Gabor to the hospital, without emergency lights flashing … an indication her life is not in immediate danger.
UPDATE: Zsa Zsa’s publicist, John Blanchette, tells TMZ the doctors have stabilized Gabor’s condition — though she’s still undergoing certain tests.”
Blanchette tells us he’s “hopeful she’ll be released tonight.”

Zsa Zsa Gabor’s husband called 911 today after finding his ailing wife “unresponsive,” a publicist for the 93-year-old actress said.
Gabor, who has been in and out of the hospital since falling out of bed and breaking her hip July 17, was at her Bel Air home when husband Frederic Prinz von Anhalt found her, publicist John Blanchette said.
Her husband called 911 to have the actress rushed to a hospital, Blanchette said.
Gabor underwent hip-replacement surgery and was released from Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center just shy of a month later. But two days later, she developed blood clots and was taken back to the hospital.
Gabor was given last rites at the hospital Aug. 15 and was brought home to her Bel Air Road mansion the following day after declining any more procedures.
Zsa Zsa is the last of the three glamorous Gabor sisters, all of whom had careers in show business. Magda, the eldest, died in 1997 at age 82. Eva, who starred in the 1960s CBS sitcom “Green Acres,” died in 1995 at age 76.
Gabor’s mother, Jolie, lived to be 101 years old.
Born Sari Gabor on Feb. 6, 1917, in Budapest, Hungary, she was unable to pronounce her first name as a child, calling herself Zsa Zsa instead. She was discovered by opera tenor Richard Tauber during a trip to Vienna in 1936 and was invited to perform in “Der Singende Traum,” or “The Singing Dream.” She arrived in the United States about 1941. In 1936, she won the Miss Hungary title, but was not able to participate in the Miss Europe pageant because she was underage.
By the early 1950s, she was appearing in films, including John Huston’s version of “Moulin Rouge” and Orson Welles’ “Touch of Evil.”
She made headlines in 1989 when she was arrested for slapping a Beverly Hills police officer who pulled her over for a traffic violation and spent three days in jail.
In 2002, she was partly paralyzed in a car wreck in which her hairdresser was driving, and in 2005 she suffered a stroke.
Even though Zsa Zsa has not yet passed away, litigation is already going on between von Anhalt — her ninth husband — and her daughter, Constance Francesca Hilton (who is also the great-aunt of Paris Hilton)… reported by PopEater, Zsa Zsa Gabor’s Husband Suing Her Estranged Daughter, Constance Francesca Hilton:
Constance Francesca Hilton may have reunited with Zsa Zsa Gabor in her mother’s final hour, but that’s not stopping stepdad Prince Frederic von Anhalt from renewing a 2005 lawsuit alleging Hilton stole millions of dollars from Gabor.
“People come out of the woodwork, like vultures waiting for her to die, so they can take her money, but I will not let that happen,” von Anhalt, Gabor’s ninth husband, told RadarOnline.com.
Zsa Zsa accused her daughter of “conspiring with others to fraudulently take out a $3.75 million loan on her home and of then taking $2 million of it to buy herself a house,” Radar reports.
Francesca Hilton, daughter of hotel magnate Conrad Hilton and great aunt of Paris Hilton, claimed she was wrongfully accused of all charges and countersued for damages. The case was tossed when Zsa Zsa failed to appear in court or sign an affidavit.
Von Anhalt told RadarOnline he dropped the lawsuit in 2007 due to Gabor’s declining health. Zsa Zsa has been partially paralyzed since a 2002 car accident and had a stroke five years ago. Publicist John Blanchette describes her as “pretty much bedridden and wheelchair-bound for the last eight years.”
“My focus now is to care for Zsa Zsa as best I can … but I plan on suing Francesca again,” von Anhalt told Radar. “She is only after whatever money she thinks her mother has and I will fight to protect Zsa Zsa and won’t let that happen.”
Of Zsa Zsa’s flagging health, Prince Frederic said she is “improving a bit.” She was given her last rites by a Catholic priest over the weekend, giving the impression she didn’t have long to live.
“We have been together for 24 years,” von Anhalt said. “At first, it was all Hollywood‚ but I have grown to love her so much and we are each other’s life.”
