Internet Hoax: Chris Hansen has not been arrested for child molestation
When false Internet rumors go viral, I always imagine a pimply, bespectacled, 20-something geek, living in the basement of his mother’s home in Toledo, giggling himself silly while scratching himself in inappropriate places and watching Lord of the Rings for the 74th time.
The latest vicious ‘Net rumor flying like chicken feathers on a blustery day is that Dateline’s and To Catch a Predator’s Chris Hansen was arrested today for child molestation.
Not true.
Lady Gaga isn’t dead, either. Nor is left-wing socialist Matt Damon.

In what appears to be a Google bomb, Chris Hansen, who is known for his work on shows about catching child molesters and sexual predators, is rumored to have been arrested for child molestation, but those reports are false.
There is a story about James William Hansen being arrested for having inappropriate sexual contact with underage males at a park in Blairstown, but there is no connection with the two stories.
Chris Hansen has not been arrested for anything at this time.

Is it possible the “To Catch a Predator” host was actually caught himself in a child molestation case? A rumor has been recently going around that Chris Hansen, the host of the segment on “Dateline NBC: To Catch A Predator”, was caught after molesting a child.

Apparently the person who did this, did it as a hoax to drive traffic to their website. We aren’t going to name the website because we don’t want to aid liars.
Chris Hansen is most well known for his role on the “To Catch A Predator” show. The show is involved with catching potential sexual predators that prey on children by posing as children and luring them into a trap they created for themselves. The predators generally try to contact and initiate sex with children.

But it appeared to be a hoax. And here is the true story.
On Wednesday the police arrested James William Hansen from the office of the Benton County Sheriff.
The media reports and press release says James William Hansen, 28, had inappropriate sexual contact on Friday, August 6, with three underage boys at a park near to Hannen Lake.
James William Hansen had faced two counts of sexual abuse in the second-degree, one count of assault with intent to commit sexual abuse and two counts of lascivious acts with a child. – Sheriff Randall L. Forsyth said.
On Friday, James William Hansen was in Benton County Jail and his bail was set at $25,000.
