Psst, Left-wing Media: 1773 Was the First Boston Tea Party… Gwen Ifill & Daily Kos Try to Mock Sarah Palin’s Historical Reference, Bites Them in the Metaphorical Butts

High-fives and cups of decadent mocha java to Sarah Palin for screwing with the liberal media’s minds again — and it was unintentional on her part.

Hilarious!

Tsk, tsk, Gwen Ifill. Were you taking a nap in American History class the day that the Boston Tea Party was discussed? The nation’s very first tea party protest event that occurred in Boston Harbor on December 16, 1773?

And the event from which the current tea party movement was inspired — as well as the deserved, credited goosing by Rick Santelli’s famous rallying cry/YouTube vent to Americans in February 2009.

For being such a highly acclaimed, supposedly educated journalist, senior correspondent for PBS’s The NewsHour, and political analyst, you’d think Ifill would have known this about US history. Or would have had the professional “hey, gotta do some research” thought and as a conscientious, non-partisan, non-biased, fair-minded journalist (insert sarcastic tones here) and senior correspondent, conduct a quick Google search to figure out Sarah Palin’s 1773 date reference during her Nevada tea party speech yesterday.

But noooo. Instead, chucklehead leftists, including Ifill and Daily Kos moron Markos Moulitsas, were thrilled to quickly condemn Palin in the Twitter World and thus, showed their shallow, shoddy research skills, bias against Palin, and their woeful ignorance of our founding days.

Gotta bash the ol’ Palin piñata AGAIN. Ifill, Daily Kos, and other liberal hacks couldn’t delay their giddy slams against Palin — they assumed she was referencing the wrong year for Independence Day or a Prince song or somethingbig oops.

Burrrrrnnnn….

Michelle Malkin posted this screenshot of Gwen Ifill’s damning tweet against Palin. MM’s perfect response was “‘Ummm’ yourself, nitwit.”

Another burrrrrnnnn…

Give the elitist media liberals any rope at all, and they’ll hang themselves and their dogs trying to do another “gotcha” on Palin. Crikey, Gwen — the kids on “Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?” would make mincement out of you with little effort — THEY know when the Boston Tea Party happened. Stop kissing up to Obama’s administration and just do your friggin’ job so Palin doesn’t have to do it for you.

From Sister Toldjah, Hey, “enlightened” liberals: Guess what happened in 1773?:

This is absolutely positively too priceless for words. In a speech to Tea Party supporters in Nevada on Monday, Sarah Palin told the crowd that they shouldn’t “party like it’s 1773″ just yet (via):

Seeking to channel the sign-bearing, flag-waving enthusiasm of the “tea party” movement into ballot-box victories, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin told hundreds of supporters Monday they couldn’t “party like it’s 1773″ until Washington was flooded with like-minded conservatives.

“I can see November from my house!” said Palin in a self-deprecating call to action that had been reprinted on buttons.

Prominent liberals like Markos Moulitsas and others hilariously jumped all over what they believed to be a “Palin gaffe” – thinking perhaps she meant 1776.

Er, wrong.

Guess what happened in 1773, lefties? The Boston Tea Party, which anyone with a high school education could easily figure out – even without watching the video that included the context of her remarks.

Even funnier: Michelle Malkin catches prObama PBS correspondent/moderator Gwen Ifill trying to walk back her Twitter swipe at Palin. Malkin’s advice: “Own up, dear.”

From Michelle Malkin, The significance of 1773: Moron leftists mock Palin, embarrass themselves:

Sarah Palin wisely warned Tea Party activists to keep working hard right up until Election Day — and not to “party like it’s 1773 yet.

Intellectually superior leftists from Daily Kos founder Markos Moulitsas to PBS “moderator”/Obama cheerleader Gwen Ifill took to Twitter to snicker about Palin’s historical illiteracy.

But it’s the Palin-bashers who humiliated themselves, via Cuffy Meigs.

From Examiner, Left Wing History Illiterates Miss Sarah Palin 1773 Allusion:

Sarah Palin told an enthusiastic Tea Party crowd not to party “like it’s 1773″ yet until a lot of tea party candidates are elected. The Left leaped the length of its change in ridicule.
What ever happened in 1773 anyway?

The Daily Kos founder Markos Moulitsas and PBS anchor & presidential debate moderator Gwen Ifill, among others, jumped on Sarah Palin for an alleged gaffe. Whatever happened in 1773? they smirked.

Well, the original Boston Tea Party happened in 1773. I thought Sarah Palin was supposed to be the dullard. It looks like her critics are not even as smart as fifth graders.

From HillBuzz, Hilarious: Left tries to ridicule Governor Palin for “don’t party like it’s 1773 yet” tweet but doesn’t know that’s when the Boston Tea Party happened:

The ignorant, basement-dwelling, Hot Pockets-muching Lefties kept saying “What happened in 1773?” and tried making fun of Palin, thinking she meant to say “1776″.

The fools had no idea the Boston Tea Party happened in 1773…which was the inspiration for the modern Tea Party Movement, which Governor Palin is very much a part of.

Whenever the Left attempts to attack and ridicule anyone, they normally just damage themselves, without realizing it.

This is especially true when it comes to Governor Palin.

The blind, irrational, misogynistic hatred these people have for her clouds their minds and judgment. They are so eager to smack at her — hard — that they never stop to think about what they are doing, or how foolish they look because they are so often dead wrong in what they attack her on.

Hilarious.

From Conservatives4Palin, 1773 and a History Lesson for the Left:

Of course Moulitsas has been too busy trying to astroturf internet search engines to smear conservatives running up to the midterm elections to study up on American history. Gwen Ifill perhaps took a history lesson from Joe Biden who confused the First and Second Articles of the Constitution during the 2008 Vice Presidential debate that she moderated between Biden and Palin.

It’s always humorous to see the pseudointellectual Left get knocked down from their high horse. Perhaps this chronologically wrong version of history is taught on that “unicorn ranch in fantasyland” that Governor Palin spoke of last week.

Verum Serum weighs in on this story, and has a screenshot of Moulitsas’s and others’ tweets — 1773 is the Most Delicious Story of the Day:

This story is so delicious it deserves a full post…

…Palin’s reference to 1773 immediately brought snickers from liberal elitists Markos Moulitsas and PBS’ Gwen Iffil among many others. Here’s Markos tweet and a few of the people who retweeted him:

Cuffy Meigs picked up on the tweets and points out the obvious fly in Kos’ smart-ass ointment: The Boston Tea Party was in 1773. See how this all connects to the Tea Party Express? Of course Kos never apologizes for being an idiot, so don’t hold your breath. It was only two months ago that he tweeted out a photo of a known Tea Party impersonator as if it were real. He never apologized for that one either.

Michelle Malkin notes that Gwen Iffil is now claiming she was just quoting Palin. ummm…sure Gwen. And you’re just a nonpartisan journalist, right? Whatever you say.

I adore this woman... and yes, Sarah, I too can see November from my house.
